2017 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis Grand Cru "Vaudésir"

SKU #1431482 95 points John Gilman

The 2017 Chablis “Vaudésir” from Domaine William Fèvre is also outstanding on both the nose and palate. The bouquet wafts from the glass in a superb mix of pear, a touch of tangerine, apple, oyster shell, chalky soil tones and a topnote of dried flowers. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied, bright and beautifully proportioned, with excellent depth at the core, racy acids and lovely backend tension and grip on the very long finish. Another truly stellar grand cru from Didier and his team! 2023-2060 (12/2018)

95 points James Suckling

An expansive nose with wet crushed stones and limes, lemons and white peaches, as well as gently spicy and nutty complexity. The palate has a very composed and mouthwateringly fresh core with a build to lime-flavored cream and very elegant yet rich resolve. Drink or hold. (8/2019)

95 points Vinous

The 2017 Chablis Vaudésir Grand Cru is another wine that captures the magic of this vintage. Sweet floral notes, ginger and citrus come together in this exotic, aromatic Chablis. Deep and rich on the palate, with superb textural resonance and fabulous balance, the Vaudésir is a wine of pure and total class. Hints of orchard fruit, mint and hard candy add an exotic flair. 91-94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound

A background application of wood is present on the vaguely exotic aromas of dried pear, apple, white peach and quinine. There is both excellent delineation and punch to the notably saline-inflected flavors that possess good punch while retaining a lovely sense of refinement on the impressively complex and persistent finish. This is lovely juice that should age well over the mid-term. *Sweet Spot* (10/2018)

91-93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

The 2017 Chablis Grand Cru Vaudésir exhibits pretty aromas of spring flowers, orange blossom and white peach. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, tangy and taut, with a lean, structural profile. It will likely fill out with further élevage. (WK) (8/2018)

K&L Notes

93-96 points Jasper Morris for Inside Burgundy: "The Fèvre holding is on a steep slope with an abundance of stones. Very pure, very intense, yet beautifully balanced, not completely weighty but with a Clos like feel to it, brilliant balance all the way through, very long as well. They have to pick early to achieve this, but it makes a wine with excellent keeping qualities." (01/2019)
