Honey crisp apples, and sea salt. Simple, cool, clean and refreshing with nice persistence. Killer little bottle of white wine.

What an incredible value! The perfect aperitif. Fresh, bright melon notes meld into white peach and kumquat. Lively on the palate with a subtle spritz. Super refreshing and easy drinking at an everyday price. Delicious.

Consistently one of my favorite whites from Italy, this resonates with class and character. The fruit notes of roasted pear and nectarine are balanced by a light saline note with lovely acidity carrying to a fine and lingering finish. This is as pure and delightful a white as I can imagine, working well as a simple aperitif or pairing beautifully with any host of antipasti.

The Limne by Tenuta Roveglia is one of my most beloved wines. Whenever there is a concert in the park in San Mateo, you’ll find me with this tucked away in my cooler. Ethereal and light, you’ll struggle to see the color on this, but the palate is melon, honey, and plenty of citrus drive. This wine is about both the balance and finesse. My classic go-to, grab-without-a-second-thought wine that will always perfectly compliment my evening.

Just to make things perfectly clear, I LOVE this wine and every year I have the same feeling, it is my go-to house white, OK that was just to show you I have no personal prejudice in looking at this wine. The nose is full of white flower and freshness with deeper stone fruit aromatics lying in the background. On the palate it shows immediate weight and density but with excellent acidity and balance. The flavors are open, showing lots of subtle fruit, bits of spice and poached Bosc pear enveloped in a creamy flow. Great finish, showing lift, elegance and not giving up its’ density. I was at the winery in April and tasted the 1996, you’d think this might be a one off but this wine ages incredibly well I’ve had at least a dozen wines from the 00’s and 90’s and they’ve still been going strong. I can’t seem to buy enough not to drink them all young however.
