2015 Domaine Macle Chardonnay Côtes du Jura (Ouillé)

SKU #1386865 94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

The bottled 2015 Côtes du Jura Ouillé delivers all the unbottled wine promised, and perhaps a bit more after one and a half years in bottle. Even the topped-up wines without flor have a nutty twist and a hint of curry that is really subtle here. The wine shows the concentration and power of the year combined with great purity and very clean aromas. As often happens with subtle wines, it has gained complexity, detail and depth over time. It's very drinkable now, but I do not discard the possibility that it might continue improving, because for sure it's going to live in bottle for at least a decade. The label does not read Ouillé, but it's a different label, a drawing of two people made by a kid. 94+ (LG) (6/2019)

France

- When it comes to wine, France stands alone. No other country can beat it in terms of quality and diversity. And while many of its Region, Bordeaux, Burgundy and Champagne most obviously, produce wine as rare, as sought-after and nearly as expensive as gold, there are just as many obscurities and values to be had from little known appellations throughout the country. To learn everything there is to know about French wine would take a lifetime. To understand and appreciate French wine, one only has to begin tasting them.
