SKU #1143951 93 points Wine Enthusiast

Outer quote mark This is an assertive, flavorful and robust wine, with a medium to full body, a mouthfilling texture and fine-beaded bubbles. A creamy viscosity and wonderful layers of butter, apple, vanilla and ginger make for a delicious palate. *Editors' Choice* (JG) Inner quote mark (12/2017)

93 points Wine Spectator

Outer quote mark Seamless and silky, showing an almost effortless sense of complexity, with notes of lemon and pear paired with toasty brioche, fresh ginger and hazelnut details. *Top 100 Wines of 2018, Smart Buys* (TF) Inner quote mark (5/2018)

92 points Decanter

Outer quote mark First overall in the sparkling category. Louis Roederer's outpost in California's cool Anderson Valley is a stylistic chip off the old block. The blend includes a considerable portion of reserve wine that's been oak-aged, making for a rich, weighty mouthful of creamy bubbles. Malolactic fermentation is suppressed in order to preserve acidity but a healthy dosage of 12g/l adds to its girth. What this sparkler lacks in zip, it makes up in texture and concentration. Lots of baked apple and toasted cashews here. (MM) Inner quote mark (2/2019)

92 points Wine & Spirits

Outer quote mark As fresh as crunchy apples in the fall, this wine opens to beautiful richness with air. There’s toasty character from the lees aging and brighter notes of red fruit, hinting at raspberries. A clean sparkler with impressive flavor depth, this serves equally well as a refreshing aperitif or a substantial dinner partner with seafood sausage. Inner quote mark (8/2018)

90 points Connoisseurs Guide

Outer quote mark The Roederer Estate version is a perennial favorite among basic Brut bottlings hereabouts, and this latest version maintains its accustomed place as one of the more rewarding examples at the price. It is at once bright and youthfully fruity with comfortably joined yeast in play at every stop, and, from its careful balance and quiet complexity to its very fine and unending mousse, it is hard not to appreciate its precision and winemaking polish. Even at its winery-suggested price, it is a bona fide best buy, but it is more likeable yet when found at a discount as it often is. *One Star, Good Value* Inner quote mark (12/2018)

K&L Notes

Founded in 1982, Roederer Estate is nestled in Mendocino County's cool, fog-shrouded Anderson Valley. As the California outpost of Champagne Louis Roederer, Roederer Estate builds upon a centuries-old tradition of fine winemaking. Roederer Estate's sparkling wines are produced using only grapes from the winery's own vineyards. Carrying on the tradition of Champagne Louis Roederer in France, special oak-aged reserve wines are added to each blend.

After tasting the Roeder Estate Anderson Valley Brut Sparkling Wine, it’s hard to believe that it is a domestic sparkling and that it only costs $21.99! What sets this domestic sparkling apart from the rest is how dry it tastes. I always have a problem with how high the dosage levels are in domestic sparkling wines but not with the Roederer Estate Brut. The nose is bright and lively with fresh pear, tangerine and clean bread yeast notes. And while the palate is friendly and accessible with riper pome fruit and clean melon flavors, this domestic brut finishes precise and focused.
