2006 Domaine Jean-Marc Brocard Chablis Grand Cru "Valmur"

SKU #1108256 91-93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound

This too is moderately reduced that makes reading the nose difficult yet the classy and sophisticated flavors are at once big, rich and intense but with refinement on the wonderfully understated, pure and gorgeously long finish. This isn't necessarily a better wine than the Preuses but I like it personally much more. (10/2007)

91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

From purchased grapes grown in the portion of this site that abuts Les Clos, Brocard’s 2006 Chablis Valmur displays ripe pear aromas tinged with peat and wood smoke. Succulent pit and citrus fruit on the palate is shot through with chalky, saline, peaty suggestions, and a deep, long, rich, yet never weighty (and just faintly warm) finish continues to give equal and impressive billing to both the mineral and ripe, juicy fruit. This should be worth following for 6-8 years. (10/2008)

90 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar

Pale yellow. Ripe nose combines citrus fruits, minerals and an element of saline oyster shell. Ripe, intense and classically dry, with excellent breadth to the flavors of sweet citrus fruits, spices and powdered stone. Then turns quite austere on the back end, finishing with a strong wet stone flavor. This is quite backward today and in need of aging. (8/2008)
