2016 Luis Seabra "Xisto Ilimitado" Douro

Produced from a blend of Touriga Franca, Tinta Amarela, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Barroca and Malvasia Preta, all grown in the prime Cima Courgo zone of the Douro valley, Luis Seabra's Xisto Ilimitado shows a terrific balance between fruit, acidity, and savoriness. Ferreira "Quinta do Porto" 10 Year Old Tawny Port

91 points Decanter: "Markedly low acidity here contributes to a voluptuous, sweeter style and seemingly fuller body: ripe, rolling, figgy and expressive – very pleasant indeed. (panel) " (08/2017) 91 points Wine Enthusiast: "This rich wine is balanced and ripe, with spice, sweet sultana and raisin fruitiness and a light shot of acidity. The aftertaste brings out fresh red fruits that are cut by the spirit and acidity to leave a full feeling in the mouth. (RV)" (12/2014) Wine Spectator: "A plump and friendly style, with cherry and plum compote flavors ...

2011 Sanguis "Infidels" Central Coast Red Blend

93 points Wine Enthusiast: "An attention-grabbing sense of umami introduces this wine, with darkly colored mushrooms, plum sauce, miso soup and black sage tickling the nose. There is dark chocolate with bits of espresso on the palate, which is leveled by plum skins and berry flesh, with bitter tar and black pepper on the finish. (MK)" (12/2014) 92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An interesting blend of 40% Cabernet Franc, 35% Grenache and the balance Syrah, the 2011 Infidels has a serious floral streak to go with plenty of currant and darker ber ...

The wine-making team at Prisoner Wine Co. work with a family of growers to source diverse grape varieties from some of the best vineyards in California. 2012 Sanguis "Luminous Flux" Santa Ynez Red Blend

92 points Vinous: "The 2012 Luminous Flux, an unusual Cabernet Franc/Grenache blend, is beautifully layered in the glass, with exotic scents of mocha, dark spice, black cherry, plum, rose petal and new leather. Even with its considerable intensity, the 2012 offers notable balance and overall harmony in this style. (AG)" (08/2015) K&L Notes: Cabernet Franc and Grenache.

2014 Château Bouscassé Madiran

94 points Wine Enthusiast: "From the home estate of the Brumont family, certainly the leaders in Madiran, this wine is dominated by Tannat, with additions of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. The blend produces rich tannins and broadens the palate to bring in black-currant fruits, a crunchy, juicy texture as well as longevity. This wine will age and age more, but should be ready to drink from 2023. *Editor's Choice and #13 on Wine Enthusiast Top 100 Wines of 2018* (RV)" (06/2018) K&L Notes: Alain Brumont is one of the stars of Madiran. 2018 COS Frappato Sicily Rosso

Vinous: "Bright red. Floral red berries and aromatic herbs on the nose and in the mouth. Enters bright and juicy, then a little dilute in the middle, with a fresh floral red berry finish that is nicely persistent. A lovely easygoing red that strikes me as less concentrated and lighter-bodied than in the past. (ID)" (08/2019)

2011 Sanguis "Mule" Santa Barbara County Red Blend

93 points Vinous: "Glass-staining ruby. Powerful, brooding dark fruit compote aromas slowly open and gain spiciness with air, taking on exotic incense, potpourri and smoked meat nuances. Dense blackcurrant and blueberry flavors are given lift and cut by smoky minerals, showing a suave, floral pastille nuance on the back half. Brawny and concentrated for sure, but there's energy here as well. Closes broad and chewy, with repeating smokiness and dusty tannins that contribute shape and grip. (JR)" (12/2014) 92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 20 ...

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2016 Zinfandel Blend Eight Years (a blend of Zinfandel, Petite Sirah and Syrah) comes bounding out of the glass with notes of raspberry pie, blackberry preserves and fruitcake with touches of hoisin and Chinese five spice plus and waft of underbrush. Full-bodied, rich and spicy in the mouth, it packs in the black fruit preserves, framed by chewy tannins and finishing on a savory note. 2,600 cases were made. 2015 Montes "Purple Angel" Carmenère Valle de Colchagua

99 points James Suckling: "This is perhaps the greatest Purple Angel ever. Full body, tight and compressed with an amazing texture and density. Fantastic fine tannins that are silky and polished. I love the energy and intensity. A blend of 92% carmenere and 8% petit verdot. One for the cellar but I can't wait to drink it again." (03/2018)

1965 Taylor Fladgate "Very Old Single Harvest" Tawny Port

97 points Wine & Spirits: "It’s tempting to look for house style in Tawny Port, especially among the British firms who make a point of defining a style for their Vintage selections. Taylor’s Vintage, blended from several estate vineyards, is defined by the old vines at Quinta do Vargellas, a Douro Superior site that produces tense, muscular and firmly mineral wines. Though this Tawny is from a lot purchased by Taylor from the Port shippers Wiese & Krohn in 2013, as Taylor’s managing director Adrian Bridge explained, the company decided to present it as p ...

1991 Dow's Vintage Port

92 points Wine Spectator: "Perfumed and gorgeous, with flowers, berry and plum. Full-bodied, very sweet and round, with lovely rich fruit and a long finish. A tiny bit of heat, but will come around nicely. Very pretty indeed. Hard not to swallow now. (JS)" (05/2005) 90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The firmly-structured, moderately tannic, impressively colored and concentrated 1991 Vintage Port is less precocious and more reserved than the 1992 Quinta do Bomfim Vintage Port. It may develop along the lines of the stern but powerful 1977. The wi ...

1997 Dow's Vintage Port

95 points Wine Spectator: "Warm and inviting, with a worn leather feel to the mix of dried anise, espresso, bittersweet cocoa, steeped fig and mulled currant notes, which move seamlessly together through the buckwheat-edged finish. There's plenty here to like now, but this has ample energy for additional development. (JM, Web Only-2017)" 94 points Wine Enthusiast: "Mouthfilling and round, without any sharp edges, but this wine remains extremely firm and dense, with several decades of life ahead of it. Dried fig, chocolate and black licorice flavors only ...

1966 Taylor Vintage Port (cracked capsules/signs of past seepage) (Previously $240)

97 points Vinous: "The 1966 Taylor's Vintage Port is a hugely overlooked Port. The bouquet is typical 1966 and oddly mirrors a Left Bank Bordeaux: conservative and masculine, yet detailed and offering attractive scents of cigar box, mahogany bureau, sandalwood and ripe cherry. The palate is foursquare with wonderful structure, spicier and more vigorous than the 1963 with greater persistence and focus. There is a wonderful bead of acidity and it feels virile and fresh on the finish that has beguiling symmetry. Later it reveals wild strawberry, cigar box, ...
