2014 Alban "Reva" Edna Valley Syrah
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2014 Alban "Reva" Edna Valley Syrah (100JD, 95VN, 94WS). Jeb Dunnuck: "Reminding me of the 2006, the 2014 Reva comes from multiple sites of darker volcanic soils on the estate. It offers a singular, incredible bouquet of crème de cassis, blackberry, seaweed, iodine, and ground sage. This massive, full-bodied wine packs a remarkable amount of fruit and richness, yet stays elegant, graceful, and beautifully balanced, with silky, silky tannins. It’s slightly more balanced and approachable than the 2006 and will drink brilliantly for 20-25 years. It’s a monumental wine from an incredible winemaker." (11/2018)

2012 Sine Qua Non "Touché - Eleven Confessions Vineyard" Sta. Rita Hills Syrah
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Sine Qua Non "Touché - Eleven Confessions Vineyard" Sta. Rita Hills Syrah (100RP, 98VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Lastly, the utterly perfect 2012 Syrah Touche reminds me of a great vintage of Guigal’s Cote Rotie La Landonne. A blend of 93% Syrah, 5% Petite Sirah and 2% Viognier, all from the Eleven Confessions Vineyard in the Sta. Rita Hills, it spent 40 months in 78% new French oak. Deep, concentrated, full-bodied and layered, with a multidimensional texture and to-die-for notes of camphor, cured meats, violets, smoke and assorted dark fruits, this beauty has fine, perfectly ripe tannin and blockbuster length. Give it 3-4 years and drink over the following two decades. (JD)" (08/2016)

Of the 2012 Sine Qua Non "Stock" Central Coast Syrah,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "A step up from the Grenache, the blockbuster-styled 2012 Syrah Stock checks in as a blend of 84% Syrah, 7% Grenache, 6% Petit Sirah, and the rest Viognier and Mourvedre, that was fermented with 32% whole clusters and aged in just over half new French oak. It offers stunning notes of blackcurrants, cassis, smoked meats, ground pepper and wild herbs to go with a full-bodied, unctuous, layered, yet always graceful and elegant feel on the palate. Nicely structured, with perfect overall balance, it still has the open-knit character of the vintage, yet has plenty of underlying structure, which at the moment is slightly hidden by the wine's lavish fruit. It will be better in 2-3 years, and have two decades o

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Petite Sirah The Writing on the Wall should be the greatest Petite Sirah to ever come out of California (or the world?). Made from 94% Petite Sirah and 6% Viognier and aged in 80% old hogsheads and 20% in new French oak, it’s bottled only in magnum and will be sold along with the new Sine Qua Non label art book. 2013 Hammell Wine Alliance "True Believer" Rhône Blend (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2013 Hammell Wine Alliance "True Believer" Rhône Blend (1.5L) (98RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Even better, and a blend of 56% Grenache, 23% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre, 9% Petite Sirah and a splash of Viognier, the 2013 True Believer has off-the-hook notes of liquid blackberries, violets, fresh plums and crushed rocks to go with a fabulously pure, precise, ethereally textured and full-bodied style on the palate. Coming from the estate vineyard that is located just beside Bien Nacido, it was fermented with 20% whole clusters (everything was co-fermented), racked straight to barrel and aged 26 months in new French oak, before being bottled unfiltered. Hats off to winemaker Chris Hammell as this is up with some of the greatest Grenache blends I’ve tasted from California. It’s very hard to resist today, but will be better in 2-3 years and drink well for a decade after that. Drink through 2029. (JD)" (08/2016)

Bid on this magnum of 2014 Hammell Wine Alliance "True Believer" Rhône Blend (1.5L) (95JD). Jeb Dunnuck: "A small step back from the total mind-blowing 2013, the 220-case 2014 True Believer is still incredible stuff and checks in as a blend of 51% Grenache, 27% Syrah, 11% Mourvèdre, 8% Petite Sirah and the rest Viognier and Roussanne. This deep ruby/purple colored beauty offers tons of ripe blackberry, currants, smoked herbs, pepper and melted licorice-like aromatics. Rita Hills Grenache (97RP, 97VN) and 1-bottle of 2011 Sine Qua Non "Patine - Eleven Confessions Vineyard" Sta. Rita Hills Syrah (98RP, 96VN). Of the 2011 Sine Qua Non "Patine - Eleven Confessions Vineyard" Sta. Rita Hills Syrah,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "A wine that needs to be forgotten in the cellar for 5-6 years, the 2011 Syrah Patine checks in as a blend of roughly 97% Syrah and the balance Roussanne and Viognier. It too comes all from the estate's Eleven Confessions Vineyard and saw 39 months in 63% new French oak. Backward, tight, concentrated and structured, with full-bodied richness and depth, it gives up Guigal La Landonne like aromas and flavors of graphite, sweet oak, smoked meats, pepper and black raspberry and cassis-like fruit. While it shows the vintage's cooler nature, it has a stacked mid-palate and will evolve gracefully for 15-20 years. (JD

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Sine Qua Non "Rattrapante - Eleven Confessions Vineyard" Sta. Rita Hills Grenache (100RP, 97VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A perfect wine any way you look at it, the 2012 Grenache Rattrapante comes all from the Eleven Confessions Vineyard in the Sta. Rita Hills and spent 33 months in 27% new French oak. My notes start - and end - with “Wow.” Giving up tons of black raspberries, peppery herbs, licorice, dried flowers and cured meats, it’s a massively concentrated, rich and layered Grenache that somehow manages to stay graceful, lively and fresh on the palate. There are roughly 800 cases of this elixir and any Grenache lover should do their best to latch onto a bottle (or two). It’s also worth noting that this cuvee saw 26% whole clusters, which is a small change from past vintages. (JD)" (08/2016)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Grenache Jusqu' a l'os was produced from 79% Grenache from the 11 Confessions Vineyard along with 18% Syrah and 3% Petite Sirah, produced using 89% whole cluster and aged for around 38 months in 51% used oak, 6% new French oak and 43% concrete tanks (bottled December 6, 2016). It displays a medium to deep garnet color and rock star vibrant red currant and black raspberry scents with hints of licorice, mocha, Indian spices and peppered salami plus oh-so-fragrant and seductive touches of potpourri and chargrill. Medium to full-bodied, concentrated and opulently fruited in the mouth, the alluring, velvety tannins support savory, spicy layers right through the long, mineral-laced finish. Bid on this bottle of 2009 Sine Qua Non "This Is Not An Exit" Sta. Rita Hills Syrah (97RP, 95ST, 95WS, 94VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An extended barrel-aged release, the 2009 Syrah This Is Not An Exit is 100% from the Santa Rita Hills Eleven Confessions Vineyard and checks in as a blend of 80% Syrah, 12% Grenache, 7% Roussanne and 1% Viognier that saw 41.5 months in 65% new French oak. Slightly exotic, with notions of kirsch, flower oil, smoked meats, licorice and graphite, it hits the palate with full-bodied richness and depth, loads of fruit and a blockbuster finish. 2009 Alban "Reva" Edna Valley Syrah (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2009 Alban "Reva" Edna Valley Syrah (1.5L) ((96-97JS), 97RP, 97VN, 93ST, 92WS). Vinous: "Alban's 2009 Syrah Reva is drop-dead gorgeous. Sumptuous, layered and absolutely impeccable, the 2009 boasts stunning depth and richness but it is never overdone or excessively heavy. Today, the aromas and flavors remain intensely primary, so readers will have to be patient. Still, the Reva is simply thrilling, pretty much as it always has been from barrel. As compelling as Alban's higher-end Syrahs are, in 2009 I prefer the Reva, as it is the most polished, impeccable and balanced wine in the range. It will be interesting to follow the development of these wines over the next few years. (AG)" (07/2013)

Blue and blackish tone fruits, smoke, tar, licorice, cloves and menthol all flesh out in a supple, exotic wine endowed with superb depth and polish. An explosive finish rounds things out beautifully in this impeccable, opulent Syrah. The 2010 spent 44 months in oak, 70% new, all of which it has handled with grace. Of the three 2010 Syrahs, this is the wine I would personally reach for more often, as it is truly stellar. (AG)" (07/2014)

Seventy percent whole cluster was employed, and the wine was aged for 21 months in French barriques, 50% new.
