1978 Petrus, Pomerol
Bid on this bottle of 1978 Petrus, Pomerol (92JG). John Gilman: "The 1978 Château Lafleur-Pétrus is one of the finest Right Bank wines I have tasted from this vintage. The wine offers up a lovely and complex nose of cherries, nutskin, a beautiful base of soil tones, pomegranate, a touch of soy, fresh herb tones and a fine topnote of smokiness. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very nicely balanced, with plenty of depth at the core, gentle tannins, tangy acids and excellent focus and grip on the long and complex finish. There is absolutely no sense here of imperfect ripeness and the wine is a very fine, svelte middleweight in its plateau of peak drinkability." (05/2016)

1964 Petrus, Pomerol (375ml)
Bid on this half-bottle lot of 1964 Petrus, Pomerol (375ml) (99RP, 98VN, 94JG, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A mammoth Petrus of stupendous extraction and power, this wine seems to be aging at a glacier pace. I suppose the 1975 is somewhat similar in style, with high levels of tannin and equally impressive levels of richness. This wine has a dark, murky garnet color with some orange and rust at the edge. The spectacular aromatics soar from the glass, offering up roasted herbs, espresso coffee, mocha, caramel, and plenty of jammy red and black fruits. A huge, viscous, spectacularly concentrated wine that is almost over the top in a style that even wine administrator Christian Moueix would probably find too big and intense for his more delicately styled taste. Nevertheless, lucky owners of this Petrus have decades of thrills still ahead of them. This is spectacular stuff! Anticipated maturity: Now-2030. (RP)" (11/2002)
