From the producer: "New Riff Distilling’s Kentucky Wild Gin is thoughtfully crafted with local wild foraged Kentucky botanicals, capturing the native flavors of the Ohio Valley and reflecting historical Kentucky gin ingredients. Twelve botanicals are distilled right in the pot, including a range of typical European gin ingredients (such as angelica, orris and licorice root, and three kinds of citrus). To these we add two local, farmer-foraged wild seasonings, including a wild juniper berry and the amazing American Spicebush— both of which are on the Slow...

90 points James Suckling: "Ripe mulberries and plums with a fresh earthy thread leading to a palate that has a very succulent, even and juicy mouthfeel. Mocha oak chimes in amid a wood-grained finish. Drink or hold. " (05/2018) 90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The keenly priced 2015 Horse Heaven Hills Cabernet Sauvignon burst from the glass with a dramatic bouquet of ripe cherries, sweet berry liqueur and loamy soil. On the palate, it's medium-bodied and generous, with an ample core of ripe fruit, good balancing acids and ripe but youthfully c...

92-94 points Vinous: "The 2017 Bourgogne Vieilles Vignes has quite a candied, red cherry and orange zest bouquet, exotic for its class, revealing hints of fig in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with soft red fruit, lower acidity than expected and a confit-like finish. (NM)" (01/2019)

Tracing their history back to 1365, Domaine des Lambrays holds nearly all of the famous Clos des Lambrays vineyard. Ownership of the Domaine changed hands many times since the French Revolution. Although the vineyard was given Premier Cru classification in 1936, the wines produced in the thirties and forties have long been hailed as legendary by critics. The vineyard was promoted to Grand Cru in 1981, so many older bottles have been relabeled to reflect that change.

96 points Wine Enthusiast: "Perfumed berry, tilled earth, pressed rose, new leather, cake spice and a balsamic note are just some of the aromas you'll find on this fragrant, delicious red. It's linear, structured and loaded with finesse, delivering ripe Marasca cherry, raspberry compote, licorice and tobacco. Taut refined tannins and fresh acidity provide an age-worthy framework. Drink 2022-2035. *Cellar Seletion* (KO)" (03/2019) 94 points Wine Spectator: "Aromas of green tomato and tomato leaf segue into plum and cherry flavors in this concentrated re...

This pretty, fresh, elegant red offers outstanding notes of red and black fruits, spring flowers, wet stone-like minerality and hints of forest floor. I love its forward, charming style and it’s ideal for drinking over the coming 3-4 years." Honorío Rubio is a Riojano white and rosé specialist. In a land best known for its incredibly age-worthy reds, among many die-hards out there it is undoubtedly the traditional whites which represent Rioja's finest and most original wines. We would add as well the barrel aged rosés, which are incredibly rare (Lopez de Heredia's we received less than 2 cases this year) Honorío makes an absolutely killer rosé, from some of his oldest Viura and Garnacha, briefly macerated and co-fermented, then aged 16 months in used barrels (which previously held his Lias F...

91 points Wine Enthusiast: "Light strawberry, dried rose petals, drying jasmine and chalk aromas all show on he nose of this bottling by the Stolpman family. There is immense grip to the sip, where crisp strawberry flavors met with a lemon-lime soda kick. (MK)" (08/2019) K&L Notes: The "Para Maria" label is a 50-50 partnership between the Stolpman (owners) and Solorzano (growers) families. Label Art: The nickname for villagers from Santa Cruz, Jalisco; Maria Solorzano's hometown, is "Tecolote" or "night owl." The name stems from the popular late night ...

92-94 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Excellent deep, saturated color. Sexy aromas of black cherry, cassis, and toasty, smoky oak. Wonderful sweetness and texture, with terrific perfume. More pliable than the '95 Las Cases. Tannins are extremely well integrated for a cabernet-based '94. I don't find the austerity that Delon cites. 92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The deep ruby/purple 2005 Pinot Noir Mills Vineyard has a sweet nose of boysenberry, black raspberry, and a hint of blueberry as well as a floral note. Medium to full-bodied, with sweet tannins, and wonderful depth, length, and texture, this may be the most succulent and precocious of the 2005s, but it will evolve for at least a decade." (08/2009) 92 points Wine & Spirits: "(No tasting note given)" (06/2008) 91 points Connoisseurs Guide: "On first glance, this almost gangly young Pinot Noir impresses as being...

94 points James Suckling: "Love the generosity in this wine for this muscular vintage with plenty of fruit to buttress the powerful tannins. Full and chewy yet succulent and fruity. Drink in 2022. " (01/2019) Vinous: "The 2015 Barolo from Cascina Bongiovanni is bright, floral and nicely lifted, all of which make it an excellent choice for drinking now and over the next few years. All the elements are nicely balanced. This is an especially silky, fruity, soft Barolo. I would prefer to drink it sooner rather than later. (AG)" (02/2019)

93 points Chris Kissack, Winedoctor.com: "This is Jérôme's first white cuvée, vinified in stainless steel throughout, and this was bottled on April 11th. I find great purity on the nose, with pear and apple fruit. The palate follows on in the same vein, cool and bright, but possessing lovely density and freshness, with a fine persistence and energy in the end. Cool and refined, showing its colours very clearly, with a great pithy substance of fruit in the finish. Classically styled, with tension and poise." (11/2019)

Whisky Advocate: "Gold color. Delicate aromas of tropical fruits (coconut, pineapple, mango), marshmallow and vanilla. Light in body, with delicate exotic flavors that deliver what the aroma promises. Soft, gentle, delicately creamy finish. (JH, Fall 2001)" K&L Notes: Compass Box's Hedonism is an unusual style of 100% blended-grain Scotch whisky. They only produce it once a year. Bruno Nada learned the ways of the vine almost before he could talk, as his father Fiorenzo farmed the family's modest plots of vines for restaurant bulk wine and sales to other producers. It was the young Bruno who set this property on the path to recognition in its own right. Beginning as a teenager when he go out before dawn to green harvest bunches from the vines and hide them from his family, young Bruno knew the potential of his family's vineyards to produce world-class wines, if only they were farmed with this in mind. Since taking over the estate...

Top Pick!
Distiller's notes: "This complex 15-year-old bourbon was blended and bottled at peak maturity so you can experience its true flavor. It is a perfect union of grain and barrel, with an old, oaky nose and a deep, honey- maple palate that reveals the lushness of the grain. Appearance: Warm, autumnal resins, blending together from afar. Nose: The central theme is of pie, notably Boston cream and pecan. Armagnac, and fig jam lend a dense, dark fruitiness. 91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Black cherries, plums, spices and new leather all come to life in the 2011 Pinot Noir Occidental Ridge Vineyard. Fresh, vibrant and beautifully delineated, the 2011 impresses for its nuance. The 2011 is a bit lighter than most recent vintages, but at the same time, the wine retains a buoyancy and vibrancy that is hugely appealing. Saline notes support the bright finish. There is good intensity to the sleek, delicious and lightly mineral-inflected flavors that possess the best mid-palate density of the entire range, all wrapped in a mildly tangy but not drying finish that also offers the best length in the range as well." 94 points Wine & Spirits: "Protracted drought made for extremely low yields at this vineyard in a foggy valley on the west side of the Santa Cruz Mountains, just six miles from the ocean—and the result is a wine with a precise, concentrated freshness. At first, it feels like a well-balanced, typical California Chardonnay: warm, spicy fruit and biscuity richness. As it takes on air, it reveals more intensity and depth of flavor, building toward flashes of succulent peach flesh and stony peach pit, and the snappy spice of nectarine skin. Age it for a few y...

The supple and almost delicate flavors exude a subtle minerality on the delicious if mildly short finish that once again flirts with dryness. Like the Chambertin, the balance isn't quite correctly dialed in but my predicted range offers the benefit of the doubt that it will." Rich, medium to full-bodied, beautifully balanced, and elegant, it's slightly tight and closed and will be better in 2-3 years of bottle age. The supple and delicious if lighter weight flavors flash a touch of minerality on the lingering if mildly dry finish. It’s a magical effort that offers a saturated purple color to go with notes of blueberries, blackberry liqueur, graphite, and crushed rocks.
