2018 Vignoble Dragon Côtes de Provence Sainte-Victoire Rosé (Previously $19) (Previously $19)
Top Pick!
91 points Vinous: "Brilliant orange-pink. Highly perfumed, mineral-accented red berry, nectarine and orange zest scents show excellent clarity and pick up a hint of lavender with air. Silky, seamless and focused on the palate, offering incisive strawberry, red currant and blood orange flavors and an exotic, sweetening touch of honey. Finishes very long and silky, with a lingering pit fruit quality and firm mineral cut. (JR)" (08/2019) K&L Notes: Typically a blend of Cinsault, Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre, this lovely rosé is clear, light pink with a ...

94 points Vinous: "Shimmering ruby-red. A highly expressive bouquet evokes candied red and dark berries, cola, smoky minerals and licorice, and a sexy floral note builds as the wine opens up. Sappy, penetrating and pure, offering palate-staining black raspberry, cherry pie, blood orange and lavender pastille flavors that put on weight and turn spicier with air. Delivers a compelling blend of richness and delicacy and finishes spicy, focused and very long, leaving floral and red fruit preserve notes behind. Once again, this bottling is, perhaps, the top '...

2018 Domaine des Girasols Côtes du Rhône-Villages Rosé (Previously $15) (Previously $15)
Top Pick!
It's never too late for the latest vintage of Côtes du Rhône rosé! Domaine des Girasols' 17 hectares of gnarled, old-vine Grenache are found on a rocky, hillside vineyard protected from the Mistral winds on terraces and slopes with clay, calcareous soils covered with rounded stones (much liked the famed hot rocks of Châteauneuf-du-Pape). The reds made from these grapes are full-bodied, concentrated rich and burly wines with black fruit flavors, spice and plenty of garrigue. The rosè is a lighter, fresher version of the reds, with pink fruit flavors (you ...

98 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Cumulus Vineyard #4 is an off-the-hook effort that showed even better than last year. Made from 44% Syrah, 32% Grenache, 12% Petite Sirah, 8% Mourvedre and 4% Touriga Nacional, it’s mostly destemmed (24% whole cluster) and aged 30 months in 30% new French oak. It boasts incredible aromatics of cassis, blackberry, white chocolate, flowers and spice-box to go with a full-bodied, incredibly pure, seamless and textured feel on the palate. Still a baby, this puppy has a long life ahead of it; give it another ...

Wine Spectator: "Bold cherry and strawberry fruit flavors are focused and fresh in this rosé, with a racy tobacco streak on the finish. A rosé for food and even fall. (JM)" (08/2019) K&L Notes: Rejoice Tavel! In a time when very high quality rosés line our shelves, when pink wines from Spain, the US, South Africa, Italy, and all over France are finally getting some much-deserved attention, we must give Tavel its special due. This is the original dedicated rosé appellation. In fact, so good is the fabled rosé from Tavel, that by law no other sort of win...

97 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Lastly, the 2015 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Sanctus Sanctorum is another 2015 that’s all about finesse and purity. Coming from a single parcel of very old vines in the La Crau Lieu-dit, it boasts full-bodied richness and depth to go with a kaleidoscope-like bouquet of strawberries, kirsch liqueur, incense and dried earth/loamy soils aromas. It has good acidity, the tannins are present and ripe, and it has a stacked mid-palate, all while just gliding over the palate. Drink this heavenly Grenache anytime over the coming 20 years. I’ve writ...

2015 Domaine Santa Duc "Prestige des Hautes Garrigues" Gigondas (Previously $50) (Previously $50)
Back In Stock!
94-97 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Lastly, the 2015 Gigondas Hautes Garrigues (60/40 Grenache and Mourvèdre) is a beauty boasting killer notes of dark fruits, crushed rocks, pepper, garrigue and scorched earth. This seriously good 2015 has building richness, a stacked mid-palate and a huge finish, all suggesting short-term cellaring will be your friend. It will keep for two decades of more." (10/2017) 93-95 points Vinous: "Full ruby. Smoke-accented aromas of red and dark berry liqueur, incense, spicecake and candied flowers show outstanding energy and clarity....

Tercero is dedicated to small lot, hand crafted wines from vineyards throughout Santa Barbara County. Winery note: "This is my 4th release of one of my favorite wines to make, and this one is as good if not better than all of my previous releases. This wine is a blend of 40% Cinsault, 40% Grenache, and 20% Carignane. Each component was brought in separately, aggressively foot stomped, fermented, then pressed off and combined into one stainless tank for aging for about 3 months. Yep, it saw no oak whatsoever. The subsequent wine is bright and fresh and ‘c...

97 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2015 Châteauneuf du Pape Chimère is a selection of Mourvèdre made by the Maurel brothers of Clos Saint Jean, oenologist Philippe Cambie, and Sine Qua Non genius Manfred Krankl. I believe there’s a touch of Grenache in the blend, as well as some Clairette and other varieties, but the bulk of this cuvée comes from the famed la Crau lieu-dit and is brought up all in demi-muids. It offers a beautiful perfume of sweet kirsch and blueberry fruit intermixed with loads of licorice, sweet spice, violets, and crushed rocks. Full-bodied,...

Costières de Nîmes is at the southernmost part of the Rhône Valley, on the opposite bank from Châteauneuf-du-Pape. One of our best new finds is Château de l'Ermitage, which produces three terrific values with eminent drinkability. The estate's history traces back to the 12th century when the winery produced wine for the pilgrims of St-Jacques de Compostelle who were traveling the Santiago de Compostela. The property is now owned by the Castillon family, and today Michel and his son Jerome manage the vineyards and winemaking. The "Victor" is named for the...

Winery notes: "What characterizes this vintage 2015 is its freshness in the mouth, red fruits, blackcurrant and blackberry. It should be served on grills and some fish and crustaceans with a spicy tomato sauce. It is also a wine for the aperif a little fresh."

Les Vignerons de Fontes is a cooperative winemaking facility in the hills outside the village of Pezenas in the Languedoc. Oenologist Corinne Pastourel oversees the project, which has a host of growers spread throughout the region over a range of soils including schist, basalt, limestone and clay. Thirty of these growers formed the cooperative in the 1930s and now their numbers surpass 200. K&L co-founder Clyde Beffa met Corinne years ago and forged the relationship that would bring us some of our most popular value wines coming from the south of France....

91 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2017 Côtes du Roussillon Villages Can't Get Enough By Séverine Bourrier is a blend of Grenache, Syrah, and Carignan brought up stainless steel. This pretty, fresh, elegant red offers outstanding notes of red and black fruits, spring flowers, wet stone-like minerality and hints of forest floor. I love its forward, charming style and it’s ideal for drinking over the coming 3-4 years." (11/2018) Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A blend of Grenache and Syrah, the 2017 Can't Get Enough is a straightforward, fruity red that combine...

99 points Jeb Dunnuck: "On another level, the 2017 Châteauneuf Du Pape Le Secret Des Sabon is stacked and packed and ranks with the top 2-3 wines in this great vintage. A huge nose of blackcurrants, melted licorice, graphite, garrigue and pepper gives way to an uber-full-bodied, concentrated, massively endowed wine that has an insane level of opulence and decadent, sweet tannins, and a huge finish. This is a tour de force in wine that readers need to taste to believe. Given its wealth of fruit and texture, it’s already approachable, yet a solid 4-5 years...

93 points James Suckling: "What a beautiful red with lemons, grated orange zest, rose petals, raspberries and sour cherries. Medium-bodied and energetic on the palate with lively, red and blue fruit and a serious tannin backbone. Drink now. Screw cap." (06/2019) K&L Notes: *Natural Wine*

90 points James Suckling: "Fresh pears and hints of orange rind here that lead to a palate that has salty mineral tang and dialed-in, light berry flavors. Gently creamy finish. 50% mourvedre, 30% grenache and 20% cinsault. Drink now." (04/2019) 90 points Wine Enthusiast: "Mourvèdre makes up half of this wine, with the rest 30% Grenache and 20% Cinsault. The aromas intrigue, with notes of citrus rind, herbs, star fruit, strawberry and spice. Broad-feeling, well-balanced, mouthwatering fruit flavors follow. The acidity keeps the interest high. Yum. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2018 Cotes de Provence Rose La Belle Helene contains a bit of Rolle, which perhaps accounts for its aromas of grapefruit and white currants. It's light to medium-bodied on the palate, loaded with tart, citrusy flavors that extend through the finish. (JC)" (04/2019) Vinous: "Pale shimmering orange. Lively, mineral-tinged red berries and pink grapefruit on the nose and in the mouth. Taut and nicely focused, showing good energy and a deeper suggestion of nectarine on the clinging finish. Drink through 2022. (JR)" (08/20...

96 points Jeb Dunnuck: "There are only 325 cases of the 2016 Parvata, a blend of 69% Mourvèdre, 21% Syrah, and 10% Grenache brought up in 30% new, mostly larger barrels. Deep ruby-colored, with a beautiful bouquet of black raspberries, white pepper, spiced meats, and graphite, this hits the palate with full-bodied richness, ripe tannins, and beautiful length." (04/2019) 93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A blend of 69% Mourvèdre, 21% Syrah and 10% Grenache, the 2016 Parvata displays a clean core of fruit on the nose, with black raspberries and w...

The name of the estate is the first indication of its long, illustrious past. Located in the heart of Provence, near routes traveled by Crusaders in the early Middle Ages, the Commanderie de Peyrassol was founded by the Knights of Templar who were dedicated to protecting the Crusaders en route to, and in, the Holy Land. The first recorded grape harvest took place in 1256 and winemaking has continued uninterrupted throughout the centuries.
