2015 Guido Rivella "Fausoni" Barbaresco (Previously $70) (Previously $70)
Top Pick!
92 points Vinous: "Rivella's 2015 Barbaresco Fausoni offers terrific depth and nuance, but in the understated style that is typical of the 2015s here. Sweet tobacco, dried cherry, anise, mint, orange peel and exotic spice all fill out in this very pretty and expressive Barbaresco. The Fausoni is the most expressive of the 2015s in this lineup. The typically firm Fausoni tannins need time to soften a bit, but the 2015 will likely always be somewhat edgy, as Barbarescos from this site tend to be. (AG)" (10/2018)

94 points James Suckling: "Love the generosity in this wine for this muscular vintage with plenty of fruit to buttress the powerful tannins. Full and chewy yet succulent and fruity. Drink in 2022. " (01/2019) Vinous: "The 2015 Barolo from Cascina Bongiovanni is bright, floral and nicely lifted, all of which make it an excellent choice for drinking now and over the next few years. All the elements are nicely balanced. This is an especially silky, fruity, soft Barolo. I would prefer to drink it sooner rather than later. (AG)" (02/2019)

Bruno Nada learned the ways of the vine almost before he could talk, as his father Fiorenzo farmed the family's modest plots of vines for restaurant bulk wine and sales to other producers. Beginning as a teenager when he go out before dawn to green harvest bunches from the vines and hide them from his family, young Bruno knew the potential of his family's vineyards to produce world-class wines, if only they were farmed with this in mind. Since taking over the estate...

96 points James Suckling: "Exotic aromas of berries, grapefruit, dried flowers and cedar. Full body and very intense tannins that are integrated and polished. Beautiful, flavorful finish. Give it time. Try in 2023. " (01/2019) 94 points Vinous: "The 2015 Barolo Mosconi is a dark, potent wine. Black cherry, chocolate, leather, smokeblood orange and licorice add to the wine's virile personality. A big, ample Barolo, the 2015 shows all the natural richness of this Monforte site, where the wines tend to be quite broad in feel. Readers should be prepared to...

Deep, fresh and full of energy, the 2015 shows a refined side of this highly regarded Barbaresco site, with soft edges that give the wine tremendous raciness as well as immediacy. This is a positively stellar, captivating wine from Guido Rivella AG" (11/2019) Jancis Robinson: "Barbaresco. Tasted blind. Mid ruby with orange tinges. Slightly stalky yet sweet nose with a hint of vanilla. Sweet cherry with hints of vanilla on the palate and wit...

95 points Wine Enthusiast: "Dried rose, blue flower, aromatic herb, wild berry and a whiff of pipe tobacco are just some of the aromas you'll find on this stunning red. It's elegant and structured, delivering raspberry compote, crushed strawberry, cinnamon and star anise framed in bright acidity and firm fine-grained tannins. It has fantastic tension and energy, and promises to age well for years. Drink 2024–2039. *Cellar Selection* (KO)" (11/2018) 94 points Wine Spectator: "The cherry and strawberry aromas are tinged by hay and tobacco notes. On the p...
