2004 Bodegas Muga "Prado Enea" Gran Reserva Rioja
Back In Stock!
94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2004 Prado Enea Gran Reserva is not quite as dense as the 2005 but is more expressive on the nose and rounder on the palate. It is a complete effort that should prove to be one of the best Prado Eneas Muga has produced." (06/2010) 94 points Wine Enthusiast: "Exemplary Gran Reserva Rioja blending modernity with the best traditions of this famed region. Perfumed, lush and complex to start, then vibrant in the mouth, with excellent integration of fl avors, acidity and tannins. Tastes of fi ne tobacco, mulled b...

2017 Noster "Inicial" Priorat
New!
Here is a Priorat that is not at all shy or trying to hide its Mediterranean origins, a richer, fuller bodied style especially considering its modest price. That said, the wine has become increasingly fresher, a development that is particularly apparent in this juicy, well delineated 2016. It is a well-balanced, tasty blend of Garnacha, Carignane, and just a tiny amount of Cabernet Sauvignon.

Hidalgo La Gitana Manzanilla Sanlucar de Barrameda (500ml)
Back In Stock!
92 points Wine & Spirits: "Consistently one of the finest traditional manzanillas you'll ever taste, La Gitana might as well be the Webster's entry for the category: pale straw color, salty seaside freshness and a dry, tangy, yet rich flavor. And that flavor lingers after each sip, too, like sea spray." (04/2005) 90 points Wine Spectator: "Dry and refreshing, with apple, straw and nutty flavors all underscored by a salty tanginess. Lightweight and balanced, this is very appealing. Break out the almonds and olives. Drink now. " (10/2005) Robert Parker...

2018 Benito Santos "Saiar" Albariño Rias Baixas
New!
Luis Gutierrez writes: "Benito Santos is an old name in Vilanova de Arousa; they went through a 'natural wine' phase that seems to be over now. 100,000 bottles of Albariño."

2017 Can Sumoi Ancestral Montonega Penedes
New!
Can Sumoi is the new Penedes project from Pepé Raventos of Raventos i Blanc. Located in the lower Penedes, the wines are all really well put together, produced from organically farmed estate grown fruit in calcareous soils containing many marine fossils, and made in a careful yet hands off approach informed by some of Pepé's favorite natural wines. Montònega is a clone of Parellada found on the estate, with high quality, pink berries. The soils here are primarily clay and limestone and very compact. Vineyards are farmed organically with biodynamic practi...

2007 Lopez de Heredia "Viña Tondonia" Reserva Rioja
New!
96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Following the appreciation of the 2007 vintage from María José López de Heredia, the red 2007 Viña Tondonia Reserva is showing great, revealing unusual finesse and elegance. The nose is a little reticent but nuanced and complex, a little shy rather than explosive. The palate is medium-bodied, and the tannins are very refined. This has to be one of the finest vintages of Viña Tondonia Reserva of recent years. 200,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in November 2015. (LG)" (06/2019) 95 points James Suckling: "Th...

2017 Gomariz "X" Albariño Ribeiro
New!
94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I tasted two vintages of this Albariño from Coto de Gomariz, and the 2017 X showed fresher, less evolved and more harmonious than the 2016. I've always liked their Albariño, even though it's not traditionally bottled separately in Ribeiro, and it certainly behaves better than Godello in the warmer LeiroGomariz zone. It used to be from a single vineyard, As Penelas, where the soils are rich in slate, but in 2017 some 30% of the grapes come from a new planting on granite soils. Slate is certainly different in that ...

2009 Bodegas J A Calvo Casajus "Antiguos Vinedos" Ribera del Duero Spain
New!
95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Antiguos Vinedos comes from four small plots cropped at 3,500 kilogram per hectare, a selection of old vines then raised in new and used oak for 14 months. It has a startlingly fresh bouquet with wild strawberry, raspberry leaf and crushed stone, straight out of the mid-slope of Burgundy (in a warm vintage!) The palate is medium-bodied and very tightly wound – you can feel the tension in this wine. The finish is actually curt and abrupt, but you can sense it unfurling with time and there is a lovely spic...
