From Wine Treasury: "In 1979 Sean Thackrey turned his hand from selling antique books to winemaking. He is definitely not your usual winemaker. Living on the edge of the world down in Marin county he makes these handcrafted wines in his outdoor winery beneath the eucalyptus trees. Sean is the kind of winemaker who makes the “business” of wine the pleasure that it can be. Totally dedicated to the production of his own style of wine, a little eccentric possibly (as so many of the best people are), straight-talking yet generous and very much with the courag...

From the winery: "A crisp orange wine perfect to pair with spicy foods, springtime and ... well, anything. The 2017 vintage of this wine landed us on Sunset Magazine’s top 100 wines list. It will make you a believer in non-red wines. Tasting Notes Apricot, Haitian Orange, Marzipan 50% Chenin Blanc, 35% Riesling, 15% Pinot Gris"

89-91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A blended barrel sample, the 2018 Patelin de Tablas Blanc is comprised of 48% Grenache Blanc, 22% Viognier, 13% Roussanne, 12% Marsanne and 5% Clairette Blanche. It opens with bruised apple and some wooly funk on the nose, fleshing out to quince, peach, honeycomb and beeswax with oodles of floral and mineral nuance. It's medium-bodied and broad in the mouth with intense, honeyed fruits, just enough freshness and a long, classically bitter finish. (EB)" (09/2019) 91 points Vinous: "Vivid straw-yellow. Fresh, ...

91 points Vinous: "The 2018 M5 White Margerum Estate Vineyard, a blend of Grenache Blanc, Roussanne, Marsanne, Viognier and Picpoul Blanc, is another gorgeous wine in this range from Doug Margerum. Beautifully layered in the glass, with striking nuance, the 2018 has so much to offer. Bright citrus, orchard fruit and floral notes all meld together in this gracious, delicious white that captures all of the tension and brightness that is such a signature here. (AG)" (09/2019)

92 points Wine Enthusiast: "This crisp and classy wine tastes dry, tight but complex from the persimmon and raspberry aromas to the lively white-raspberry and white-peach flavors. It has taut acidity balanced by touches of spicy maturity that keep it interesting through the lingering finish. (JG)" (12/2019) 90 points Connoisseurs Guide: "Spot on with respect to Rosé’s fruitier bent but exhibiting a fine yeasty trim of autolysis and lots of youthful energy, this one is a vivacious, slightly lighter, carefully composed example of the genre that is both m...

92 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Ripe peach, honeyed citrus, salty minerality, and white flower notes all emerge from the 2017 Willow White, a beautifully textured, layered, balanced white. I'd drink it over the coming 3-5 years, but I wouldn't be surprised to see it evolve longer." (10/2019) 92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2017 Willow White is a blend of 62% Grenache Blanc, 20% Roussanne, 11% Viognier, and 7% Picpoul, aged 18 months in 40% new oak. It has a pretty, floral-laced nose with orange blossom, musk, toast, honey and almonds over a quinc...

From the producer: "The Pétillant Naturel is Onward’s sparking expression of Malvasia Bianca from Capp Inn Ranch. The wine was moved from tank to bottle by gravity. Everything to do with bottling lady Pét-Nat has to be done by hand because she is still fermenting (meaning full of CO2 gas) and needs to be handled with care. I bottled the wine with a small amount of lees, allowing the fermentation to complete in bottle and left the wine un-disgorged (with sediment) in bottle. I feel this adds purity and complexity that would be lost if removed. The bottl...

92 points Connoisseurs Guide: "Finding a place at the lighter end of the Rosé spectrum and, in fact, a wine that could easily pass for a Blanc de Noirs, this lightly yeasty version fixes on energetic, slightly juicy, young fruit as its main motif. It is briskly balanced, but its ample acidity enlivens without ever once seeming sharp, and it is wholly free of the astringency that marks its more vinous mates. *Two Stars*" (11/2015) 92 points Wine Enthusiast: "This sparkling wine is a majority of Pinot Noir, with Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier. It is aromat...

91 points Wine Enthusiast: "This blend of 33% Viognier, 26% Roussanne, 22% Grenache Blanc, 11% Marsanne and 8% Clairette is an excellent display of everyday white Rhône potential along the Central Coast. Aromas of peach, buttered toast, pineapple and river stone lead into a palate that combines rich tones of roasted apple, yellow peach and lemon brioche with savory sea salts. *Editors' Choice* (MK)" (12/2019) Jeb Dunnuck: "Based on Whit, the 2018 Cotes Du Coast offers slightly more honeyed peach, apricot, and honeyed citrus notes as well as a juicy, ba...

93 points Vinous: "The 2018 White Wine Old Vine Heinstein Vineyard, a field blend from a site in Sonoma Valley, is loaded with all of the flavor and textural complexity that California's heritage sites offer. Exotic, floral and light on its feet, the 2018 is pure class. This is one of the more refined editions I can remember tasting. (AG)" (04/2020) K&L Notes: Winemaker's notes: "64 year old dry-farmed white field blend of Sylvaner, Riesling and an assortment of other obscure varieties planted in fluffy white volcanic soils at the base of the western f...

93 points Vinous: "Light shimmering yellow. Aromas of Meyer lemon and pear take on subtle chamomile, ginger and floral nuances as the wine unfolds. Juicy and focused on the palate, offering intense, spice-laced citrus and orchard fruit and honeysuckle flavors and a hint of salinity that builds on the back half. At once concentrated and lithe, delivering firm closing cut, resonating floral and spice notes and impressive persistence. This exceptional bubbly wine spent four years on its lees and got 12 g/l of dosage, but it comes off dry. (JR)" (11/2019) ...

93 points Wine Enthusiast: "This is an assertive, flavorful and robust wine, with a medium to full body, a mouthfilling texture and fine-beaded bubbles. A creamy viscosity and wonderful layers of butter, apple, vanilla and ginger make for a delicious palate. *Editors' Choice* (JG)" (12/2017) 93 points Wine Spectator: "Seamless and silky, showing an almost effortless sense of complexity, with notes of lemon and pear paired with toasty brioche, fresh ginger and hazelnut details. *Top 100 Wines of 2018, Smart Buys* (TF)" (07/2018) 92 points Wine & Spiri...

Winery notes: We began bottling Roussanne on an annual basis in 2001. This bottling originates from a vineyard site we helped establish and develop between Auburn and Foresthill called the Monarch Mine Vineyard. It is planted with a clone of the Roussanne grape that originates from a Chave family parcel on the hill at Hermitage. This is a difficult variety to grow. This 2012 has classic Roussanne characteristics: Straw golden color; with exquisite quince, honey-nut, and beeswax aromas. It has a very rich and silky mouth feel from barrel fermentation and ...

Robert Parker writes: "This winery, dedicated to négociant, relatively large-production cuvées of blended wines, was founded by the brilliant Dave Phinney and sold in 2009. Today the wines are made by the very talented Jen Beloz. These wines are distinctive, creative blends of exceptionally high quality, especially given the production totals that they achieve."

Sineann (shuh-NAY-uhn) is a small producer of highly intense wines made from grapes from the finest vineyards in the region. Almost all of their wines are single-vineyard designated, with low crop levels to ensure that the best characteristics of the varietal and terroir shine through. Their meticulous approach to winemaking (minimal processing, aging in French oak) helps them to preserve the character of each wine that they create. Winemaker Peter Rosback, well known for sourcing fruit from only the best vineyards, he carefully crafts wines from vineyar...

Tablas Creek Vineyard is a highly regarded wine producer located in Paso Robles, credited with planting some of the first Rhône varieties in the region. It was formed in the late 1980s as a partnership between the Perrin family of the esteemed Château de Beaucastel in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, and Robert Haas, the founder of Vineyard Brands. The vineyard is planted with original vine cuttings from the French château. Winery note: A clean, spicy Vermentino nose of grapefruit peel, citrus leaf, green herbs and sea spray. Briny. The palate starts notably creamy,...

Winery notes: Sourced from the Bien Nacido Vineyard's Roussanne block that Qupé planted in 1997 from Château de Beaucastel cuttings, the 2017 Holus Bolus Roussanne is a benchmark white for Santa Barbara County. The nose is floral and waxy, with aromas of nectarine, white flowers and dried chamomile. The palate is clean and fresh, with notes of Meyer lemons, apricots and green tea. The texture is svelte and focussed, avoiding the often thick and resinous quality I find with much Roussanne. This is a modern classic with a long life ahead of it.

Winery notes: This Verdelho comes from a small family owned vineyard in Acampo, Ca. The total vineyard is 12-acres. Only 3 acres are planted to Verdelho. This varietal is originally from Portugal. Ten percent of the juice was separated, inoculated and fermented in a neutral oak barrel. This was not temperature controlled and flourished in the cool cellar environment. The other ninety percent was inoculated and fermented in a stainless tank. Temperatures were controlled to ensure a cool ferment to capture the fruit forward elements of this wine. Two yeast...
