1986 Talbot, St-Julien

96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A fabulous wine, and one of the two greatest Talbots of the last 50 years, this wine still has a very murky garnet/plum/purple color and a spectacular nose of sweet creme de cassis intermixed with freshly ground pepper, melted road tar, herbes de Provence, and beef blood. It is followed by an enormously concentrated wine of full body, layers of concentration and sweet tannin. The wine seems to be just hitting its plateau of maturity, where it should last for at least 10-15 more years. A prodigious Talbot. (RP)" ( ...

1986 Léoville-Las-Cases, St-Julien

100 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The late Michel Delon always thought that this was the greatest vintage he had produced. We often tasted it side by side with the 1982, because I always preferred the latter vintage. Of course, the two vintages are quite different in style, with the 1986 a monument to classicism, with great tannin, extraordinary delineation, and a huge, full-bodied nose of sweet, ripe cassis fruit intermixed with vanilla, melon, fruitcake, and a multitude of spices. The wine has always been phenomenally concentrated, yet wonderf ...

1986 Mouton Rothschild, Pauillac

100 points Decanter: "Wonderful, concentrated and still astonishingly young, this has brushes of violet aromatics rising above the tight cassis fruits and rich black truffle, and the classic menthol edging of a Cabernet Sauvignon-dominated Pauillac. We drank this over lunch and it was breathtaking, but were told that 24 hours later it had blossomed even further, so make sure you give this a serious amount of time in carafe to open up - something that gives you just a small clue as to how structured, layered and complex the wine we are dealing with here i ...

1986 Inglenook "Reserve Cask" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

91 points Wine Spectator: "Highly Recommended" by the Wine Spectator: "Spicy, generous and complex, with sharply focused currant, plum and nutmeg flavors that zing right through the long finish. A wine with rambunctious flavors that become polished and lively on the finish." (10/1991) K&L Notes: 91 points and "Highly Recommended" by the Wine Spectator: "Spicy, generous and complex, with sharply focused currant, plum and nutmeg flavors that zing right through the long finish. 1986 Chateau de Ravignan Bas-Armagnac (750ml)

From the importer: "Castles have graced the property of what is now the Château de Ravignan since the 12th century. The name "Ravignan" itself comes from the deep ravines surrounding the property that once served as a natural defense. The château was later occupied by feudal barons and partially destroyed during the religious wars of the 16th century. In the mid-17th century, a Louis XIII manor was built on the property. Vineyards were planted in 1732. Around the same time, the property was sold to Jean La Croix, who later took the name Ravignan."

1986 Cheval Blanc, St-Emilion

93 points John Gilman: "The 1986 Cheval Blanc is a beautiful wine and one of the sleeper vintages for this fine estate in the decade of the 1980s. The really refined and lovely nose wafts from the glass in a complex mélange of dark berries, menthol, cigar ash, herbal tones, soil, espresso and a deft touch of new oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, suave and classy, with a fine core of fruit, modest, ripe tannins and a very long, still modestly austere and perfectly balanced finish. All this lovely wine needs is just a bit more time in the c ...

1986 Bruichladdich 30 Year Old Rare Cask Series "Sherry: The Magnificent Seven" Unpeated Islay Single Malt Whisky (black tin) (750ml)

The final seven casks from the '86 vintage aged in Oloroso sherry butts until being transfered to fresh Fernando di Castilla Pedro Ximinez casks for 4 years of additional maturation. This tiny release of some of Bruichladdich's oldest stocks are proof that the unpeated Islay can age just as gracefully as some of her smokey neighbors. Only 4200 bottles of this special whisky were produced and sold exclusively in the US so expect the international collectors to be on the hunt.

1986 Margaux, Margaux
Bid on this bottle of 1986 Margaux, Margaux (98VN, 97RP, 95WS). Vinous: "The 1986 Château Margaux was even more emotionally moving. Still incredibly youthful, it showed incredible focus and depth, all backed up by considerable structure. As hard as it may seem to believe, on this night the 1986 appeared to still be some years away from peaking. It was striking in every way. (AG) 98+" (02/2012)

1986 Silver Oak Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 1986 Silver Oak Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1986 Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley came across as a Spanish wine when it was poured. The color was medium dark garnet with considerable amber, orange, and rust at the edge. As the wine sat in the glass, the oak became better integrated, and an herbal, smoky, spicy, fruitcake-scented nose began to emerge. Tasters were equally split on whether they loved or hated it, with one taster correctly identifying it. However, within 10 minutes, the general consensus (I concurred) was that this was an intriguing, sweet, cedary, smoky, herbaceous, but expansive, exotic, chewy wine... (RP)" (06/1996)
