Located in the Mendocino appellation of Yorkville Highlands, Halcón overlooks Anderson Valley and the Pacific beyond. It's one of the highest vineyards in California. Andrew Jones learned to make wine from the ground up. He started as a vine nursery fieldman, planting and planning vineyards for wineries all over California. This gave him firsthand knowledge of nearly every vineyard on the Central Coast and a knack for finding "diamonds in the rough." Meanwhile, he was building friendships with some great California growers, who'd often offer him small lots of their best grapes on the side. From these beginnings he has built a catalog of delicious, affordable wines that hum with personality.

Eighty Four wines is a collaborative project between Doug Shafer of Shafer winery and his long time winemaker Elias Fernandez. The name comes from 1984 which was the inaugural vintage the two men worked on at Shafer winery together. This is an extremely small project with just 300 cases of Petite Sirah produced and 600 cases of Malbec. It's a very exciting project if you're a fan of Shafer Relentless or other Shafer wines, in which case you owe it to yourself to check out these limited-release offerings.
