1999 Verite "La Muse" Sonoma County Bordeaux Blend

97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A blend of 89% Merlot and 11% Cabernet Sauvignon (84% of the fruit from Sonoma and 16% from Napa), the 1999 is soft enough to be considered fully mature. 1999 Neyers "Conn Valley-Neyers Ranch" Napa Merlot

"The nearly outstanding, dark plum/purple-colored 1999 Merlot exhibits scents of toffee, caramel, cherry and berry fruit, and mocha. Soft, fleshy, and plush, it is reminiscent of a chewy, plump, mid-sized Pomerol. 89 points!" The Wine Advocate

1999 Duckhorn Napa Valley Merlot

This Merlot is more like a Bordeaux blend. 79% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot, 100% French oak aged, of which 50% was new oak, and the wine stays in barrel for 18 months. Soft, ripe and upfront, with flavors of vanilla, minerals and sweet herbs, the '99 Duckhorn Merlot is a rich and concentrated wine that is silky on the palate and long on the finish. The wine is drinking well right now and will develop in a cellar over the next five years. (Trey Beffa, K&L Domestic buyer)
