From the brewery: "In the middle of the old part of Bamberg, directly beneath the mighty cathedral, one can find the historic smoked beer brewery Schlenkerla. First mentioned in 1405 and now run by the Trum family in the 6th generation, it is the fountain of Original Schlenkerla Smokebeer (in German language it's called "Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier"). The smoked beer is here at the brewery tavern still being tapped directly from the wooden barrel according to old tradition. Our dark, bottom fermented speciality, brewed with Original Schlenkerla Smokemalt...

Slightly sweet, slightly sparkling and some skin contact with the grapes makes for one of the most incredibly unique wines from Greece we have ever tasted. This sits on the verge of natural wine meets sparkling cider meets sour beers. There's really no way to put into words how fun this is. You kind of have to try it and see. (Keith Mabry, K&L Greek Wine Buyer) *Natural Wine, Orange Wine*

From a solera begun in 1991, this spectacular Sanluqueño Amontillado contains wine of an average age of 15-20 years old. Blended in, there is a tiny amount of very old wine discovered in the bodega shortly after its purchase. It had been sealed in plaster, as the former owner was apparently determined to keep this pre-phylloxera wine, unblended, all to himself! Aromatics reveal salty flor, followed by toffee. The wine is racy on the palate, until it turns rich and succulent, with buttered and roasted pecan and almond flavors. This is really quite good. (...

Brouwerij West / Humble Sea Brewing "After People" Milk Stout w/ Cacao Nibs, Vanilla, Milk Sugar, California (16oz cans)
from the brewery: "Our wild and kooky friends at Humble Sea in Santa Cruz, CA are the epitome of fun, and fun is exactly what was had when collaborating on this delicious 6% Milk Stout we've dubbed, After People. Using a heavy helping of Cacao Nibs, Vanilla and Milk Sugar, After People is the brewer's approach to an Adult Chocolate Milk. Flavors of deep roasty dark chocolate, balanced perfectly by the smooth sweetness of vanilla will have you wondering if this is, in fact, a collaboration with Yoohoo. But it’s not. It’s not a collaboration with Yoohoo. I...

92 points Wine & Spirits: "Juan García Jarana, the motorcycle magnate of Jerez, sells a portion of his soleras to Lustau for this delicate Oloroso. It starts with notes of candied almonds, coconut palm syrup and caramel. The hint of salinity lends complexity and freshness, without diminishing that delicate, pleasing sweetness." (06/2009) 92 points Wine Enthusiast: "Just add this oloroso to the growing list of excellent Sherries from Lustau. This one is tellingly nutty on the nose, thus the hazelnut and walnut flavors are expected as they become part of...

Carcavelos is the smallest wine appellation in Portugal. A fortified wine like Port and Madeira, but unlike its siblings, the region is East of Lisbon and has amazing views, and only recently has had its last 25ha become protected from development. The Quinta dos Pesoshe estate was acquired by Manoel de Boullosa in 1963 and its vineyards were painstakingly restored over the course of the next twenty years. In keeping with ancient tradition, a mixture of white (Arinto, Gallego Dourado, Ratinho, Rabo do Ovelha) and red grapes (João Santarem, Espadeiro T...

92 points Wine & Spirits: "Consistently one of the finest traditional manzanillas you'll ever taste, La Gitana might as well be the Webster's entry for the category: pale straw color, salty seaside freshness and a dry, tangy, yet rich flavor. And that flavor lingers after each sip, too, like sea spray." (04/2005) 90 points Wine Spectator: "Dry and refreshing, with apple, straw and nutty flavors all underscored by a salty tanginess. Lightweight and balanced, this is very appealing. Break out the almonds and olives. Drink now. " (10/2005) Robert Parker...

91 points Wine & Spirits: "Light amber-tawny in color, this wine is delicately balanced between freshness and age. There’s brisk, tart peach flavor along with more mature tones of pale berries and woodsy mushrooms. Hints of tobacco smoke add to the wine’s elegance." (12/2015) 91 points Wine Spectator: "Racy and fresh, with detailed green fig, dried cherry, incense and hazelnut notes. Offers a long, focused finish. (JM)" (06/2018) Wine Enthusiast: "This hits the sweet spot between fruit and wood-aging flavors. The red fruit tones have just begun to ra...

96 points Decanter: "Everything you could possibly want in a Palo Cortado, a wine evenly poised between Amontillado and Oloroso. Toasted and buttery, with walnut notes on the nose leading into a resoundingly bold palate of honey, bitter caramel and a lift of saltiness. The power is carefully controlled through to an elegant finish. (SE)" (11/2018) 93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The amber-colored NV Antique Palo Cortado has a clean, changing, lifted nose of white chocolate, orange marmalade, almonds and incense, while the balanced palate come...

This unique wine comes from just 25 hectares of land along the Atlantic coast just west of Lisbon. Famous in the 18th century as a rich, oxidized dessert wine with strong acidity and powerful flavors of dried fruits, honey cake, and baking spices, these wines were as recognizable as Madeira and Port in their heyday and particularly known for long-term aging. History, earthquakes, and the more recent spread of development along the coast into Carcavelos's beautiful territory put the wine on the brink of extinction from which it has not entirely recovered,...

From the brewery: "Our Korbinian, the full-bodied, dark Doppelbock with light brown foam, wins beer-lovers over with a balance of fruity hints of plums and figs, a dark malt aroma - reminiscent of toffee, nuts and chocolate. Its roasted flavour goes well with smoked meat and fish as well as venison and poultry. Brewed according to our centuries-old brewing tradition on the Weihenstephan hill."

From the brewery: "Collaborating with one of Washington's most awarded craft coffee producers, Olympia Coffee Roasters, we always enjoy the intelligent conversation and finding nuanced flavors to pair between coffee and beer. Hailing from (insert coffee origin information), San Sebastian Reserva coffee evokes hints of caramel and apple bringing a soft warmth to the glass. We used whole bean coffee and steeped over a pound per barrel while also dry hopping at 2 pounds per barrel with a blend of Australian Vic Secret and NW Chinook hops. The result is a qu...

As we both share roots in the historically significant pale ales of Burton-upon-Trent we've made this beer using heaps of gypsum and tons of English hops for a dry, bitter, and mineral-forward blast from our shared past. For maximum enjoyment, drink fresh and pair with fond memories and bright futures."
