2017 Domaine Vincent Dauvissat Chablis Grand Cru "Les Preuses" (Pre-Arrival)

98 points Decanter: "The Dauvissat holdings touch La Moutonne but make a very different style to the Long-Depaquit wine. Fine, delicate and subtle, this lightly wooded grand cru takes your breath away with its focus, poise, and its thrilling length. Drinking Window 2024-2035. (TA)" (07/2018) 97 points John Gilman: "There was just a touch of frost damage in the domaine’s holdings in les Preuses in 2017, so the yields here were down by ten percent. The wine is brilliant, offering up a deep and enormously complex nose of grapefruit, tart pear, green apple ...

2017 Domaine Vincent Dauvissat Chablis 1er Cru "La Forest" (Pre-Arrival)

96 points Decanter: "Now reduced to 3.7ha since 0.8ha were given to his nephew, Vincent Dauvissat's 12 parcels of Forest (his spelling) are still producing a spellbinding wine. It's all almond paste, beeswax and oyster shell, with a drizzle of honey. Drinking Window 2022 - 2032. (TA) " (07/2018) 95 points James Suckling: " Has a very strong, flinty yellow grapefruit and lime-leaf edge with a waxy, steely mineral core, making it a really exciting nose. There’s additional depth here, from white peppery minerals to chalk. Super fine and tight. This has ...

2017 Domaine Vincent Dauvissat Chablis 1er Cru "Séchet" (Pre-Arrival)

94 points James Suckling: "Attractive yellow citrus, lemons and very chalky oyster shell minerals. White peaches and dried flowers too. The palate has a super fine acidity. Elegant, long and very mineral. This has real tension and energy. Drink or hold. " (07/2018) 94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A bottling that regularly excels chez Dauvissat, the 2017 Chablis 1er Cru Séchet opens in the glass with delicate aromas of citrus peel, grapefruit, crisp green apples and white flowers, with only subtle hints of the oyster shell to come. On the pala ...

2017 Domaine Vincent Dauvissat Petit Chablis (Pre-Arrival)

91 points Decanter: "Made from Vincent Dauvissat's vines located above Les Clos, on Portlandian limestone soils, this wine has good focus and minerality with some of the savoury complexity that's the domaine's hallmark. (TA)" (07/2018) 90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Readers who neglect Vincent Dauvissat's 2017 Petit Chablis in favor of his grander appellations will be doing themselves a disservice, as this is a brilliant, characterful wine with an established track record of evolving gracefully for the better part of two decades. Unfurling i ...

2014 Domaine Drouhin-Vaudon Chablis Grand Cru "Les Clos" (Pre-Arrival, Elsewhere $100)

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2014 Chablis Grand Cru les Clos as picked on September 17 and has the highest alcohol degree and still is a modest 13.3%. The nose is quite complex and cohesive with yellow flowers and honeysuckle, a touch of granite underneath. The palate is very well balanced with crisp acidity, more weight and fruit intensity than the Vaudésir, and then it fans out with confidence towards the finish with some lovely candied orange peel notes. This is a superb Les Clos with a long future ahead. (NM)" (08/2016) K&L Notes: ...

2017 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis 1er Cru "Vaillons" (Pre-Arrival)

94 points James Suckling: "Very attractive aromas of ripe white and yellow peaches here with a gently glossy edge and lightly toasty and flinty nuances. The palate has such richness and composure with a fleshy, smooth build to the long, lemon and peach-soaked finish. Bracing. " (07/2019) 92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2017 Chablis 1er Cru Vaillons bursts from the glass with a pretty, aromatic bouquet of citrus blossom, white peach and spring flowers. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, ample and expressive, with an open-knit, sati ...

2017 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis 1er Cru "Mont de Milieu" (Pre-Arrival)

91-93 points Vinous: "The 2017 Chablis Mont de Milieu 1er Cru comes from just 0.5-ha of vine that was affected by frost, so yield was just 10hl/ha. It has an attractive, marine-tinged bouquet with touches of oyster leaf and citrus fruit. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, just the right amount of bitterness to keep you coming back for another sip. This is one of Fèvre’s best Premier Crus. (NM)" (08/2018) 90-92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A discreet application of wood sets off mildly exotic aromas that are composed of miner ...

2017 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis Grand Cru "Les Clos" (Pre-Arrival)

96 points Decanter: "No one can rival William Fèvre's 4.12ha of holdings in Chablis' most prestigious grand cru, much of it from old vines. The wine is leesy, waxy and complete, showing understated wood, layers of citrus and umami, and the power and backbone to age in bottle. (TA)" (07/2018) 96 points John Gilman: "The Domaine Fèvre les Clos is another brilliant 2017 grand cru. The bouquet is utterly refined and classically complex, offering up scents of green apple, tart orange, lemon, complex, flinty minerality, white flowers and incipient notes of p ...

2013 Domaine Vincent Dauvissat Chablis Grand Cru "Les Clos" (Pre-Arrival)

95 points Vinous: "Pale yellow. Higher-pitched on the nose than the Preuses, offering strong oyster-shell minerality lifted by lavender and violet nuances. Densely packed, tactile and suave, displaying outstanding energy and inner-mouth citrussy lift. Comes across as less violent than the Preuses, and more perfumed on the palate. Finishes with oustanding length and a magically light touch. (ST)" (08/2015) 93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "There is a barely discernible touch of wood framing the green apple, lemon peel, floral, iodine and oyster shel ...

2013 Domaine Vincent Dauvissat Chablis Grand Cru "Les Preuses" (Pre-Arrival)

94-96 points Vinous: "The 2013 Chablis Preuses stands out from the rest of this lineup for its extraordinary bouquet. I could stand in front of this barrel all day. Dried flowers, sage, slate, crushed rocks and lime race across the palate as this tense, pulsating Chablis captivates the senses with its extraordinary purity and finesse. Magnificent from the very first taste, the 2013 Preuses might also turn out to be one of the wines of the vintage. Sadly, yields are down 30%. (AG)" (08/2014) 94 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright, ...

2017 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis 1er Cru "Montée de Tonnerre" (Pre-Arrival)

90-93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "An elegant, pure and airy nose combines notes of white flowers, citrus, lemon-lime and plenty of classic Chablis character. There is also excellent volume, density and power to the refined medium-bodied flavors that presently are not quite as complex as they usually are on the lingering finish. The underlying material however appears to be first-rate and as such my predicted range offers the benefit of the doubt that more depth will develop with time. *Sweet Spot, Outstanding*" (10/2018) 93 points John Gilman: " ...

2017 Domaine Christian Moreau "Les Clos" Chablis Grand Cru (Pre-Arrival)

97 points Decanter: "*Platinum Best in Show Decanter World Wine Awards 2019* 100% Chardonnay Tasting notes: Pale gold in colour, this commanding Chablis Grand Cru from the great site of Les Clos is everything Chablis-lovers could want. The site is so good, indeed, that its wines often take some time to evolve both aromatically and on the palate, but the supple, summer-meadow warmth of the aromas of this wine and its width and amplitude in the mouth suggest it has already set out satisfyingly down the evolutionary track. The balance with the wine's inhe ...

2017 Domaine Christian Moreau "Les Clos - Clos des Hospices" Chablis Grand Cru (Pre-Arrival)

95 points James Suckling: "This is stunning. A richer and more expressive and more exuberant nose than the regular Les Clos bottling. A complete array of yellow stone fruit and citrus fruit on show here. The palate has a very fleshy and very smooth, white-nectarine and white-peach core. Long, sleek and elegant." (08/2019) 93-95 points Vinous: "The 2017 Chablis Les Clos Clos des Hospices Grand Cru has a very well defined bouquet, but a little tight and backward at the moment, gradually unfurling to reveal blood orange, honeysuckle and a slightly resinou ...

2017 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis Grand Cru "Vaudésir" (Pre-Arrival)

95 points John Gilman: "The 2017 Chablis “Vaudésir” from Domaine William Fèvre is also outstanding on both the nose and palate. The bouquet wafts from the glass in a superb mix of pear, a touch of tangerine, apple, oyster shell, chalky soil tones and a topnote of dried flowers. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied, bright and beautifully proportioned, with excellent depth at the core, racy acids and lovely backend tension and grip on the very long finish. Another truly stellar grand cru from Didier and his team! 2023-2060" (12/2018) 91-94 points ...

2017 Domaine Vincent Dauvissat Chablis 1er Cru "Vaillons" (Pre-Arrival)

91-93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A lightly exotic nose consists of pure white orchard fruit and muscat nuances that display background hints of floral character, mineral reduction and seaweed. The rich, round, succulent and concentrated flavors possess an opulent but balanced finish where the minerality really comes to the fore. Once again, this excellent effort should age well over the mid-term. *Sweet Spot, Outstanding*" (07/2018) 92-93 points James Suckling: "More waxy, fresh apples and some pear nuances here. A chalky refined nose with very ...

2017 Domaine William Fevre Chablis Grand Cru "Valmur" (Pre-Arrival)

94 points John Gilman: "Like other examples of Valmur I tasted from the 2017 vintage, the Domaine Fèvre bottling was closed down for business at the time of my visit and its ultimate stylistic guise and quality were not all that easy to read. The bouquet is quite reserved out of the blocks, offering up scents of apple, pear, beeswax, chalky soil tones and a whisper of florals in the upper register. On the palate the wine is deep, closed and rock solid at the core, with excellent length and grip, but not a lot of detail showing in the still very adolescen ...
