Bid on this bottle of 2008 Mastroberardino "Villa dei Misteri Pompeiano" Campania . Mastroberardino is arguably THE benchmark estate of southern Italy's Campania region. So, they were the natural choice for the Italian government to task with restoring the ancient viticultural sites within the excavated ruins of Pompeii. The team at Mastroberardino cultivated the sites based on archaeological evidence discovered in the ancient winemaking facilities and equipment found in the once-buried city. The Villa dei Misteri is an expression of those sites and traditions. A blend of Piedirosso and a small amount of Scianscinoso, this is terroir to the utmost with dense aromas and flavors of black kirsch, morello cherries, red and black licorice, volcanic ash, and cinnamon spices. Truly exceptional wine and produced in very limited quantities.

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Mastroberardino "Radici" Taurasi (94JS, 94RP, 94WE, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Taurasi Radici boasts stunning richness, depth and power, yet remains relatively accessible and approachable for such a young Taurasi. Juicy dark cherries, cinnamon, plums, spices, incense, tobacco and a myriad of aromas and flavors saturate the palate as this big, textured wine opens up in the glass. Despite its considerable richness and plushness, the 2007 never loses its classical sense of structure. If that combination sounds appealing, believe me, it is. This is a flat-out stunner from Mastroberardino. Best of all, it will drink beautifully pretty much right out of the gate.
