2016 Domaine Jean Tardy Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru "Aux Argillas" (bin soiled labels, some nicked labels)

91 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A markedly restrained nose grudgingly displays its earthy and even more sauvage-inflected aromas of dark currant and cherry that are trimmed in discreet wood nuances. There is excellent intensity to the obviously stony, muscular and tension-filled flavors that possess fine delineation on the youthfully austere, compact and tightly wound finish. Patience required." 2016 Domaine Hudelot-Noëllat Nuits-St.-Georges 1er Cru "Murgers"

93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A brooding and all but mute nose requires aggressive swirling to reveal its notes of intensely earthy aromas of dark currant and raspberry where a background nuance of the sauvage appears. The rich, full-bodied, naturally sweet and lightly mineral-suffused flavors possess good freshness and a seductive texture before culminating in an impressively complex, driving and palate staining finish. This is more refined than it usually is yet a wine that doesn't lack for power and punch. In short, this excellent effort is pr ...

2016 Domaine Robert Chevillon Nuits-St-Georges Vieilles Vignes

89-91 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This too is wonderfully fresh with its appealing array of both red and dark currant, earth and soft wood scents. I very much like the sense of vibrancy projected by the solidly intense and well-detailed medium weight flavors that terminate in a notably firmer finish that exhibits a touch of youthful austerity. This is also very good for its level and recommended." (01/2018) 90 points Decanter: "Chevillon’s Nuits villages is very attractive, with an expressive bouquet of wild berries, blackcurrant and rich soil. ...

2016 Thibault Liger-Belair Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru "Les St. Georges"

93-95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2016 Nuits Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Saint Georges includes 40% whole cluster fruit, eight barrels produced from 2.04 hectares, the lowest ever. I have to say that the quality of the terroir comes through on the nose: beautifully defined, mineral-driven, hints of sous-bois underneath the black fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, slightly chalky in style, long and tender with brilliant focus on the finish. Thibaut talked about a verticality of this cru, and I can see exactly what he means. ...

2016 Domaine Faiveley Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru "Les Porêts Saint-Georges"

91-93 points Vinous: "(the crop was reduced 30% by frost): Bright ruby-red. A touch of reduction to the aromas of black raspberry and menthol. A step up in richness and fullness from the foregoing Nuits-Saint-Georges examples, conveying sexy sweetness to its flavors of dark cherry and dark chocolate complicated by a hint of white fruits. In a sweeter, generous style in the context of the vintage, with the wine's big dusty tannins nicely supported by its relatively full body.(ST)" (01/2018) 90-92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "The airy and expressiv ...

2016 Domaine Louis Jadot Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru "Les Vaucrains"

90-92 points Vinous: " Bright, dark red. Aromas of dark cherry, raspberry and menthol are complicated by a sexy musky quality. Boasts lovely mineral energy and definition in the mouth, as well as excellent depth of flavor and restrained sweetness. Seems higher in acidity than most of the Jadot '16s from the Côte de Beaune but also more complex. Finishes firm, even a bit muscular, but not hard, with serious ripe tannins. (ST)" (01/2018) 91 points John Gilman: "The 2016 Vaucrains from Maison Jadot is also a fine bottle in the making, but this is quite s ...

2016 Domaine Louis Jadot (Andre Gagey) Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru "Les Boudots"

94 points Wine Enthusiast: "This firm, structured wine hails from a premier cru that borders Vosne-Romanée to the north. Power, richness and mineral tension come from the tannins and the opulent black fruits. This wine will develop slowly and will not be ready to drink before 2025. (RV)" (06/2019) 91-93 points Vinous: "Bright, dark red. Pungent herbal high notes (cannabis?) to the aromas of black cherry and licorice. Penetrating, concentrated, high-pitched wine with a very fine-grained texture and moderate sweetness and fleshiness. Sharply focused but ...

2016 Domaine Jean Grivot Nuits-St-Georges "Les Charmois" (Previously $100)

93 points Wine Spectator: "Cherry, plum, iron, tobacco and toast notes are the hallmarks of this polished, yet solid red. The tannins emerge as this builds to a long, resonant finish. All the elements are in the right proportions. Best from 2022 through 2038. 98 cases made. (BS, Web Only-2019)" 88-90 points Vinous: "Bright, dark red with ruby tones. Very ripe on the nose but also with lovely floral lift to the aromas of cherry pit and dark raspberry. An inviting and intense if slightly lean Pinot fruit bomb with terrific vigor and subtle minty lift. Rea ...

2016 Domaine Henri Gouges Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru "Les Pruliers" (Previously $110)

91-93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A beautifully layered nose offers up notes of both red and black pinot fruit, spice, warm earth and evident sauvage nuances. The rich, delicious and caressing medium weight plus flavors possess a velvety mid-palate mouthfeel that contrasts somewhat with the very firm, saline and lingering finish. This is muscular but not really rustic. *Outstanding*" (01/2018) 93 points John Gilman: "As was the case with the superb 2016 Pruliers that I tasted with Bertrand Chevillon, Grégory Gouges’ example is going to be a very ...

2016 Domaine Henri Gouges Nuits-St-Georges

89-91 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "from 4 different parcels scattered above and below the 1ers and the blend of vines averages about 35 years of age; in 2016 it also includes the production from Les Chaignots and Les Chênes Carteaux. A more deeply pitched nose is composed by notes of plum, dark raspberry, earth and a hint of wood. There is excellent volume to the relatively sleek medium-bodied flavors that possess plenty of sappy dry extract, all wrapped in a firm finish that is also less rustic than usual. This too is worth checking out." (01/2018 ...

2016 Domaine Henri Gouges Nuits-St-Georges Blanc 1er Cru "La Perriere" (Previously $105)

89-91 points Jasper Morris, MW: "Pale yellow with a rather evolved oaky nose. This is typical at this stage according to Grégory. A very attractive wealth of fruit appears on the palate which is fresher though still oaky. 20% new oak on this and the reds." (01/2018)

2016 Domaine Robert Chevillon Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru "Les Roncières"

90-93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A fresh and quite densely fruited nose combines notes of red and dark cherry, cranberry and plenty of both spice and warm earth wisps. The beautifully intense and chiseled middle weight flavors brim with minerality on the dusty, firm and palate coating finish that also flashes a touch of youthful austerity. This isn't the densest wine in the range but the balance is impeccable. *Outstanding*" (01/2018) 93 points John Gilman: "The 2016 Roncières from Domaine Chevillon is every bit as brilliant as the Chaignots th ...
