2011 Egrot (formerly Elisabeth Goutorbe) Grand Cru Brut Champagne

Elisabeth Goutorbe and her husband Jean-Marie Egrot run their tiny production Champagne house almost entirely by themselves. They get very little help from their cat Maurice, but can rely on Elisabeth’s father, René Goutorbe of Champagne Henri Goutorbe for a little bit of help. Of the 15 acres they own in Ay, Louvois, Tauxieres and Mutigny, they only keep the fruit from their 2.5 best—mostly in Ay, but also a touch of Louvois Chardonnay for balance. Their home straddles the border of Ay and Mutigny, two great terroirs in the Gand Valley of the Marne, whi ...

2011 Can Mayol Loxarel "MM" Gran Reserva Brut Nature Classic Penedes

91-92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The sparkling rosé 2011 MM de Loxarel is a very pale blend of Xarello with 40% Pinot Noir that matured in bottle with the lees for no less than 42 months. The wine is more orange than pink, perhaps a darker shade of amber, and does not have any character of a rosé. Instead, it's leesy and a bit earthy, and the palate is very tasty, with yeasty flavors and a saline, almost marine sensation in the finish. It's moving at a slow pace but definitively maturing and developing some honeyed undertones. I think the pre ...

2011 Michel Arnould "Carte d'Or" Brut Champagne (1.5L)

The Carte d'Or from Arnould makes up less than 2% of their small production, and then not every year. Patrick Arnould trades grapes with Delphine Cazals for this wine, which is 50% Mesnil Grand Cru from her estate, and 50% old vine Pinot Noir from the Arnould estate in Verzenay. Our allocation is tiny, and this Champagne is capable of very long ageing.

2011 Joseph Phelps "Eisrébe" Napa Valley Late Harvest (375ml)

91 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Fairly pale straw-yellow. Attractive lift to the aromas of mandarin orange and peach syrup; smells a bit like a particularly sweet Moscato d'Asti. A silky fruit bomb on the palate, sweet but not thick, with good grapefruity acidity giving shape to the fruit salad flavors. Doesn't offer the texture or complexity of a botrytis style but shows lovely purity. Finishes with very good perfumed length. Use this in place of the sorbet course." (05/2012) K&L Notes: Joseph Phelps Vineyards has always be ...

2011 Louis Roederer Brut Rosé Champagne (1.5L)

94 points Wine & Spirits: "Jean-Baptiste Lécaillon grows some of the most beautiful rosés in Champagne, focusing on pinot noir in the clay soils of Cumières, and on the careful and precise extraction of color from the skins of the grapes. This is a wine that’s discreet in its ripeness, delicate in its fragrance, hinting at roses and the blossoms that will become red fruits. Even so, it’s formidable in its flavor depth, and an able partner for rillettes, whether made from salmon or duck." (12/2017) 94 points Wine Enthusiast: "A blend of grapes from Cumi ...

2011 Sine Qua Non "The Moment" California White Blend
Bid on this bottle of 2011 Sine Qua Non "The Moment" California White Blend (95RP, 94VN, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Starting off the tasting and a prodigious, unctuous white, the 2011 The Moment checks in as a blend of 57% Roussanne, 19% Petit Manseng, 17% Chardonnay and 7% Viognier that spent 16 months in a combination of concrete, new and used barrels, and stainless steel. Offering up notions of marzipan, citrus oil flowers, marmalade and spiced apricots, it flows onto the palate with full-bodied richness and depth that's balanced by beautiful underlying freshness and clarity. While I would lean towards drinking bottles over the coming 2-3 years, these can absolutely age, and have upwards of 10-15+ years of longevity. Drink now-2017+. (JD)" (08/2013)
