96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "More open, upfront and sexy, the 2009 Grenache This is Not an Exit is comprised of 79% Grenache, 15% Syrah, 3% Viognier, and 3% Roussanne that spent 31 months in roughly 35% new French oak. Showing overflowing richness, with notions of incense, spice cake, potpourri, and creamy raspberry fruit, it is a full-bodied, voluptuous, and decadent Grenache geared for drinking over the coming decade or so. Drink now-2023. About as good as it gets across the board, these singular, incredible wines are the result of an obse...

97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An extended barrel-aged release, the 2009 Syrah This Is Not An Exit is 100% from the Santa Rita Hills Eleven Confessions Vineyard and checks in as a blend of 80% Syrah, 12% Grenache, 7% Roussanne and 1% Viognier that saw 41.5 months in 65% new French oak. Slightly exotic, with notions of kirsch, flower oil, smoked meats, licorice and graphite, it hits the palate with full-bodied richness and depth, loads of fruit and a blockbuster finish. More approachable than the 2010 extended barrel age Syrah, this beauty will...

2009 Melville "Donna's" Sta. Rita Hills Syrah
New!
93 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Opaque violet. Captivating bouquet offers scents of candied dark berries, licorice, violet, lavender and incense, with a spicy topnote of cracked pepper. Juicy, palate-staining black raspberry and mulberry flavors show a seamless texture and expand with air. The spice and floral notes repeat on the impressively long, sweet, penetrating finish. This wine would be superb with a Moroccan-spiced lamb dish; in the context of high-end New World Syrah it is a fantastic value." (11/2011) 91 points Robert P...

90 points Wine Spectator: "Rich and full-bodied, boasting intense, concentrated ripe plum, blackberry and wild berry fruit. A touch of berry jam folds in on a minerally aftertaste." (10/2011) K&L Notes: A lovely 2009 Central Coast Pinot Noir from two blocks of Pommard clone fruit grown at the famed Julia's Vineyard in Santa Maria Valley. In 50% new French oak barrels for 16 months, this wine has a slightly hedonistic edge to it, with deep black fruit, a touch of earthy-meatiness and incense, fishing long and rich.

92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Pinot Noir Sun is a decidedly more muscular, powerful wine than the 2009 Pinot Noir Moon tasted alongside it. Rich dark fruit, spices and sweet French oak fill out the broad-shouldered frame in convincing fashion. (AG)" (08/2011) 91 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright ruby-red. Aromas of cherry-cola, black raspberry and vanilla bean pick up spiciness and a sexy note of potpourri with air. A more powerful expression of pinot than the graceful Moon bottling, but with no less elegan...

93 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Vivid ruby-red. Vibrant red and dark berries on the nose, with sexy Asian spices, fresh rose and bright minerality adding complexity. A silky, graceful midweight, offering vivid raspberry and floral pastille flavors and slow-building spiciness. Shows striking minerality and sappiness, finishing with outstanding clarity and persistence. (JR)" (11/2011) 92 points James Suckling: "Aromas of ripe fruits verging on dried, with hints of earth and spices. Full-bodied, with firm tannins and a mineral, h...

92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Pinot Noir Cine Sera Fiddlestix Vineyard flows with the essence of black cherries, plums, menthol and flowers, all of which come together in a round, sensual style. The Cine Sera shows gorgeous mid-palate fleshiness and an inviting, highly perfumed finish. Sadly, the 2009 will be Lato’s last Pinot from Fiddlestix. (AG)" (08/2011) 92 points Vinous: "Bright ruby-red. High-pitched aromas of redcurrant and strawberry, with exotic incense and Asian spice notes adding complexity. Juicy, finely etched red fru...

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Pinot Noir shows lovely mid-palate juiciness in its sweet red cherries, licorice and crushed flowers. This is a pretty, if somewhat fleeting, frail Pinot that is best enjoyed while the fruit is vibrant. The Pinot Noir is mostly young vines from Bien Nacido, with some fruit from Solomon Hills, Presidio and Fe Ciega, basically the barrels that don’t make it into the vineyard-designate bottlings. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2014. " (08/2011) K&L Notes: This wine blends fruit from some fantastic Santa Barbara County ...

91 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Deep, bright red. Suave, perfumed aromas of raspberry, cinnamon and fresh flowers. Sappy and intense on the palate, offering sweet red fruit and rose pastille flavors lifted by tangy acidity. Finishes bright and precise, with the floral note echoing with real authority." (11/2011) Wine Enthusiast: "A nice Pinot Noir, with ripe, flashy red berry, cola and spice flavors. It’s a bit rustic around the edges, but it does show a certain amount of elegance." (04/2012)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Bonaccorsi "Melville Vineyard" Sta. Rita Hills Chardonnay. Wine Spectator: "Impressive for its focus, complexity and purity, with ripe cherry, plum and wild berry flavors that are elegant and balanced. (JL, Web only-2012)"
