95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Another wine that got better and better over the evening was the 2009 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee de Mon Aieul. I've drunk through my fair share of bottles of this over the past few years. It has never shut down and has always shown well. A ripe, forward and sexy wine, it has lots of kirsch, garrigue, exotic spice and floral notes to go with a ripe, concentrated feel on the palate. It certainly has the vintage's Provencal character and is an exuberant, hedonistic Grenache to enjoy over the coming 10-12 years. (JD)"...

96 points Wine Spectator: "Sinewy and reserved, with a light dusting of cocoa powder over the tangy damson plum, red licorice and cassis notes. The long, supple finish, with a lovely wafting note of Lapsang souchong tea, is packed with minerality and tight-grained tannins that will need time to fully evolve. One of the more backward 2009s, though this should pick up steam in the cellar. (JM)" (11/2011) 95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Considered by Paul-Vincent to be a hypothetical blend of the '05 and the '07, the 2009 Chateauneuf du Pape was...

100 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The greatest wines Chave has produced since 2003 are the two cuvees of 2009 Hermitage. The 2009 Hermitage exhibits a black/purple color along with a sumptuous nose of roasted meats, ground pepper, black currants, blackberry jam, and subtle smoke and licorice. The extraordinary bouquet is followed by a wine of extravagant intensity as well as tremendous focus and precision. While not as powerful as the blockbuster 2003, the amazing 2009 may turn out to be a modern day version of their magnificent 1990 (which is d...

96 points Decanter: "A real winter warming glass of wine, with structure and weight. Initially tight-knit, it develops in the glass to reveal ripe, fleshy fruit and a long, rich finish. It is still youthful, with plenty of potential. The blend is one-third Mourvèdre, which is high for Châteauneuf, with Grenache, a little Syrah, and tiny amounts of the other varieties, all planted together. (RG)" (12/2017) 96 points Wine Spectator: "Sinewy and reserved, with a light dusting of cocoa powder over the tangy damson plum, red licorice and cassis notes. The l...

98 points Jeb Dunnuck: "This was a great showing for the 2009 Châteauneuf Du Pape Cuvée Réservée, and while I’ve drunk close to a case of this beauty, it’s never shown as well as on this occasion. A massive bouquet of kirsch liqueur, blackberries, garrigue, truffle, spice, and loads of other magical Southern Rhône goodness all emerge from this stunning Châteauneuf Du Pape. Full-bodied and powerful, it nevertheless stays balanced, light on its feet, and is a singular beauty that could come from nowhere else. It’s not for those looking for lightweight flav...

99 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Châteauneuf du Pape Vieilles Vignes is considered by many observers in Châteauneuf du Pape to be the wine of the vintage, and it can most certainly be counted among the finest. A blend of 80% Grenache and the rest Syrah and Mourvèdre tipping the scales at 15.5% natural alcohol (which is slightly less than the Chaupin), the wine has an inky black/purple color as well as incredible density and richness, with notes of soy, blackberry, and blueberry liqueur, incense, acacia flowers and licorice. The layered,...

95 points Vinous: "Bright violet color. Wildly complex scents of black raspberry, cherry compote, sassafras, allspice and licorice. Lush and palate-staining, with noteworthy intensity to its open-knit dark berry, spicecake and floral pastille flavors. Silky tannins come on late and meld smoothly with the deep, sappy fruit, which refuses to let go of the palate. I underestimated this powerful, vibrant wine last year. (JR)" (01/2012) 94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Chateauneuf du Pape Reserve des Deux Freres is probably the softest, mo...

The long, supple finish, with a lovely wafting note of Lapsang souchong tea, is packed with minerality and tight-grained tannins that will need time to fully evolve. One of the more backward 2009s, though this should pick up steam in the cellar. Best from 2013 through 2025." (11/2011) 95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 is showing better out of bottle than it was last year. Gorgeous kirsch liqueu...

This 3-Pack OWC contains one bottle each of Guigal's Côte-Rôtie selections from 2009: La Landonne, La Turque, and La Mouline. All received a 100-Point score from Robert Parker in December of 2012. The La Landonne bottling recently received an updated 100-point perfect score from Jeb Dunnuck: "I’ve been lucky to have drunk close to a case of the 2009 Côte Rôtie La Landonne, and if there’s a more perfect Syrah out there, I don’t know of it. Revealing a vivid ruby/purple color, it delivers a spectacular bouquet of crème de cassis, smoked meats, graphite, s...

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Needing more patience, the 2009 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee du Papet (75% Grenache, 15% Mourvedre and the balance Syrah aged in foudre) comes from the estate’s oldest vines planted in such famous sites as Mont Olivet and Bois Dauphin. Usually about 1,000 cases are produced and the 2009, which tops the scales at 15.5% alcohol, is brilliant. A gorgeously aromatic bouquet of dark fruits, kirsch, underbrush, raspberries, licorice, spice box and pepper soars from the glass of this dark ruby/purple-tinged wine. Opulent a...
