2005 Chateau Ste. Michelle "Ethos" Late Harvest Riesling Columbia Valley 375ml

91 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, Nov/Dec 07: "($39; for 375 ml.) Bright, pale gold with a green tinge. Slightly high-toned, musky aromas of honeycomb, caraway seed and mace. Fat, thick and very sweet, but with good acidity framing the very rich flavors of ripe peach, caraway seed and honey. In an ideal world, this would have more complexity and acidity, but this sweet bomb is dense and delicious."

2005 Cayuse "En Chamberlin" Walla Walla Valley Syrah

94 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Deep ruby-red. Dark fruits, black pepper, licorice, mocha and brown spices on the nose: Baron's answer to La Landonne? Wonderfully intense and deep, with powerful dark fruit flavors sexed up by an exotic note of apricot. Finishes with outstanding mounting persistence and restrained sweetness. It would be a treat to see this trio of vineyard-designated Syrahs in about five years. Baron told me that this vineyard was the first Syrah planted on its own rootstock in Walla Walla Valley (in 2000)." (11/200 ...

2005 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

100 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From a hot vintage and incredible any way you look at it, the 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon has that laser-like focus of a cooler year, yet the voluptuousness and richness of a warmer year. Smoked black fruits, coffee, truffle and pen ink-like aromas and flavors all emerge from this massive, incredibly full-bodied effort and on the palate, it carries itself perfectly with a weightless, yet decadent texture, masses of polished tannin and blockbuster length. More classic and textbook than the 2007, it is every bit as go ...

2005 Cadence "Bel Canto" Red Mountain Washington Red Wine

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Cadence’s version of the legendary Cheval Blanc is the 2005 Bel Canto, a blend of 50% Cabernet Franc, 42% Merlot, and 8% Petit Verdot, a selection of the best barrels of these grape varieties in the cellar. Saturated crimson in color, it presents an expressive bouquet of pain grille, pencil lead, espresso roast, black cherry, and plum. This is followed by a wine with superb grip, a smooth palate-feel, layers of ripe fruit, and a 45-second finish. Give it 5-7 years of further bottle age and drink it through 2030. ...

2005 Andrew Will "Champoux Vineyard" Horse Heaven Hills

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Champoux Vineyard is made up of 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Petit Verdot. Purple-colored, it delivers an alluring perfume of pain grille, spice box, and violets. On the palate, it is layered, intense, and powerful. Its impeccable balance should allow it to evolve for up to a decade and drink well through 2030." (06/2008) 94 points Wine Enthusiast: "Andrew Will’s portfolio of Bordeaux blends draws upon some of Washington’s greatest vineyards for inspiration; none great ...

Bid on this bottle of 2005 Charles Smith "Skull" Columbia Valley Syrah (98RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Syrah The Skull comes from a different section of the Royal Slope. If it is possible, the wine is a bit more structured and powerful. It needs 8-10 years of cellaring and will be at its best from 2017 to 2035. (JM)" (06/2008)
