2004 Grace Family Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1L)

According to Stephen Tanzer: "Deep red-ruby. Intriguing aromas of botanical herbs, dried flowers, mint and shiso leaf, with some intrusive nutty oak; this reminded me of a old-style Italian red. Then suave in texture, with good richness but also a firm edge to the flavors of cassis, kirsch and nutty oak... Lingering notes of licorice and dark chocolate." (Jan/Feb 07)

2004 Dyer Diamond Mountain District Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)

Jancis Robinson: "Fresh, fruity nose, with tart berry/cherry and cassis. Supple texture and brisk acidity are nice counterplays to the spicy oak, tobacco and black cherry notes. Focused and elegant. 17.5/20 points. (LM)" (06/2008) Wine Spectator: "Tightly wound, firm and dense, with loamy, earthy currant, anise and sage flavors that end up with chewy, dry tannins. Decant. (Web-2007)"

2004 Araujo "Eisele Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)

95 points Wine Spectator: "Firm, tight and well-structured, with a medley of floral, spice and dried currant and a touch of herb and cedary oak. Well-integrated, focused and concentrated, with a long, deep, persistent finish. Will reward cellaring. *Collectibles* (JL)" (10/2007) 94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Despite having over 40-plus acres of vineyards in the northeasterly sector of Napa just south of Calistoga, the production at Araujo remains relatively limited, with the flagship wine, the Cabernet Sauvignon Eisele Vineyard, producing b ...

2004 Gemstone Yountville Bordeaux Blend (1.5L)

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2004 Proprietary Red Wine (91% Cabernet Sauvignon and 9% Petit Verdot; 495 cases produced) is better than I predicted from barrel. This opaque purple-hued, amazingly rich wine reveals notes of graphite, blackberries, cassis, licorice, and incense. A judicious touch of new French oak along with superb concentration, and intense, but sweet, well-integrated tannin suggest this backward 2004 should age for 20-25 years. It is one of the stars of the vintage. (RP)" (12/2006) 95 points Wine Spectator: "Tightly wou ...
