2004 Catena Zapata "Nicolás Catena Zapata" Cabernet Sauvignon Mendoza

98 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Catena Zapata’s flagship is the Nicolas Catena Zapata, a Cabernet Sauvignon-Malbec blend. The 2004 Nicolas Catena Zapata is composed of 72% Cabernet Sauvignon and 28% Malbec. It spent 18 months in 100% new French oak. A saturated black purple in color, it has an aristocratic perfume of pain grille, mineral, espresso, saddle leather, cassis, black currant, and black raspberry. Opulently textured, complex, ripe, and sweet on the palate, it maintains a sense of elegance as well as power. It demands 10-15 years of fu ...

2004 Clouds Rest Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir

About the producer: "In 1999 fulfilling a lifelong dream, following our passion for great pinot noir and dared by the devil to succeed we ripped the virgin ground and started picking by hand the ancient volcanic rocks preparing to plant the most provocative, seductive and magical wine varietal in the world, Pinot Noir. 2004 Araujo "Altagracia" Napa Valley Red Blend

90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Despite having over 40-plus acres of vineyards in the northeasterly sector of Napa just south of Calistoga, the production at Araujo remains relatively limited, with the flagship wine, the Cabernet Sauvignon Eisele Vineyard, producing between 1,600 and 2,200 cases of wine, and the second wine, the Altagracia, between 800 and 1,200 cases. Add to that another 1,000 cases of Sauvignon Blanc and 300-400 cases of Syrah, and there is just not a lot to go around given the greatness that can be achieved from this vineyar ...

2004 Tablas Creek "Panoplie" Paso Robles Rhône Blend

95 points from Robert Parker: "The 2004 Panoplie is a blend of 69% Mourvedre, 21% Grenache, and the rest mostly Syrah with a touch of Counoise. This wine is showing fabulously well out of bottle, with complex earthy, gamey, smoky notes of burning embers and charcoal as well as black cherry and black currant fruit. The wine is broad, full-bodied, powerful, and rich. It is a beautiful homage to the famed luxury cuvee called Jacques Perrin from Chateau Beaucastel. This wine should evolve for at least 12-15 or more years." (Aug. 2007) 94 points from Stephen ...

2004 Harris Estate "Lakeview Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Medium ruby-red. Dark raspberry and woodsmoke dominate the nose. Sweet and fruit-driven, with flavors of dark raspberry, smoked meat and nutty oak. A nicely juicy wine, the least dense of the 2004 trio but offering an enticing sugar/acid balance. Finishes with substantial tongue-dusting tannins and a lot of oaky torrefaction. " (05/2007)

2004 Dyer Diamond Mountain District Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)

Jancis Robinson: "Fresh, fruity nose, with tart berry/cherry and cassis. Supple texture and brisk acidity are nice counterplays to the spicy oak, tobacco and black cherry notes. Focused and elegant. 17.5/20 points. (LM)" (06/2008) Wine Spectator: "Tightly wound, firm and dense, with loamy, earthy currant, anise and sage flavors that end up with chewy, dry tannins. Decant. (Web-2007)"

2004 Coup de Foudre Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

98 points Wine Enthusiast: " *Editors' Choice* This wine is from John Schwartz, who partners with Heidi Peterson Barrett to make Amuse Bouche. For Coup de Foudre, he has paired with Danielle Price, MS, and wine director at Wynn Las Vegas, to produce this stunning Cabernet, which contains 12% Syrah. Grown in a 5-acre Stags Leap District vineyard, it shows stunning levels of blackberry and chocolate fruit enhanced with waves of smoky oak. Yet somehow, for all the opulence and power, there’s an almost weightless elegance to the wine. Sometimes cult Cabs can ...

2004 Torbreck "Factor" Shiraz Barossa Valley South Australia

97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Made from 100% Shiraz that spent 24 months in French oak (30% new), the exuberant, flamboyant 2004 The Factor offers up gorgeously pure blueberry and blackberry fruit intermixed with smoke, bacon fat, camphor, and graphite. Silky smooth, and, as David Powell says, “the most Barossa-like” of all his wines, it represents Powell’s rendition of a Cote Rotie. It can be drunk over the next 15-20 years. (RP)" (10/2006) 94 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Opaque ruby. Powerful dark berry liqueur arom ...

2004 Arnot-Roberts "Bugay Vineyard" Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon

93 points Vinous: "Inky violet. Intensely perfumed nose offers powerful, flamboyantly spiced boysenberry and blackcurrant aromas that are positively room-filling. Dense and sweet, with deeply concentrated dark berry and cherry flavors verging on liqueur-like. But this has impressive energy and grip, giving it focus and helping to extend the flavors across the palate. Formidable stuff, with an uncanny balance of concentration and verve. And the bouquet is to die for. This site is on a volcanic ridge in the Mayacamas Range. (ST)" (05/2007) 92 points Robe ...

2004 Domaine de la Janasse Châteauneuf-du-Pape Vieilles Vignes

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Showing even better than when I tasted it for the 2004 retrospective earlier this year, the 2004 Chateauneuf du Pape Vieilles Vignes is about as rich and textured as they come in the vintage. Blackberry, licorice-laced cherries, sugared garrigue and crushed flowers all emerge from this full-bodied, supple and yet beautifully balanced wine. As with the Chaupin, it’s entering its prime drink window, and will continue to evolve gracefully. I’ll say again though, it’s drinking beautifully now. (JD)" (08/2014) 95 p ...

2004 Blankiet "Paradise Hills Vineyard" Napa Valley Merlot

95 points Wine Enthusiast: "This is a stunning Merlot, impossibly rich. Saturated and opaque in color, it tastes fat and flashy, with masses of cherry and blackberry jam, anise, chocolate and Provençal herb flavors. Yet this opulently soft wine has a classic structure, backed up with firm tannins. This is a profound Merlot." (03/2007) 94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2004 Merlot Paradise Hills Estate offers a big, sweet kiss of cassis, kirsch, spice and spring flowers. Rich, medium to full-bodied and seemingly close to full maturity, it is ...

2004 Robert Foley Napa Valley Claret

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A blend of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Merlot from the multi-talented Robert Foley, this opaque purple-colored 2004 Claret displays the Midas touch exhibited by Foley for many years. Sweet aromas of creme de cassis, licorice, charcoal and spice are followed by a beautifully etched, full-bodied wine with sweet tannins, well-integrated acidity, and a hint of background oak. Long, lush and opulent, it can be enjoyed over the next decade. (RP)" (04/2014) 92 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Satu ...

2004 Domaine Henri Gouges Nuits.-Saint Georges

Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This too is reduced and there's not much available at present on the earthy and somber nose but the medium weight flavors are definitely sweeter and finer with good volume in the mouth if less density than this wine normally deliverers. I like the punch and finishing persistence and there is surprisingly good backend complexity." (01/2006) John Gilman: "As is befitting one of the producers of the longest-lived wines in all of Burgundy, the 2004 Henri Gouges wines that I tasted on this trip were still quite youthful and adole ...

2004 Turley "Hayne Vineyard" Napa Valley Petite Syrah

96-98 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Petite Syrah reveals a black/purple color as well as notes of graphite, smoke, blackberries, blueberries, creme de cassis, a liqueur of mineral-like intensity, and huge tannin and concentration. The 2004 Petite Syrah Hayne Vineyard possesses the purest fruit, density, and intensity. This is a prodigious wine that should be purchased only by those with cold cellars and good DNA for longevity as it will all age for 40-50 years. (RP) 96-98+" (12/2005) 94 points Vinous: "Bright ruby to the rim. Aromas of bla ...

2004 Noon "Reserve" Cabernet Sauvignon Langhorne Creek

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve exudes notes of creme de cassis, marmite, some dried herbs and meat with a touch of menthol. Full and generous, it has great mid-palate weight supported by a crisp acid line and medium-firm, fine-grained tannins. It finishes long. Drink it now to 2024+. (LPB)" (02/2014) 90 points Wine Enthusiast: "The wine now bears a South Australia appellation because the fruit is coming from Langhorne Creek. This vintage clocks in at 15.5% alcohol, with nutmeg ...

2004 Bodegas Muga "Torre Muga" Rioja

96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2004 Torre Muga is not as powerful as the 2005 but displays better aromatics. It is loaded with spicy fruit with great depth and concentration, impeccable balance, and a lengthy, pure finish. Give it another 4-5 years of bottle age and drink it through 2034. (JS)" (06/2010) 95 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Saturated ruby. Exotically perfumed, syrah-like bouquet of red and dark berries, violet, smoky bacon and graphite, with a vanillin oak spice undertone adding an exotic touch. Fleshy, ...

Premiere Napa Valley lots are incredibly limited, one-off bottlings from some of the region’s top producers. Only five cases of this bottling were produced. Winery Notes: “D. R. Stephens Estate winemaker, Celia Masyczek, has selected a special barrel from the outstanding 2004 vintage that truly showcases the elegant power of the Moose Valley Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon. 2004 Bond "Matriarch" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this bottle of 2004 Bond "Matriarch" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (94RP, 92VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon Matriarch, which I had rated 93 in 2008, was fashioned from the lots culled out from the single-vineyard wines. This is the most open-knit and evolved of all these 2004s. Full-bodied with fabulously concentrated chocolaty, espresso, black currant and blackberry fruit notes, it is fragrant, silky smooth, broad, supple and altogether captivating. This is a beauty to drink over the next 10-15 years. (RP) A brilliant project of Harlan Estates’ proprietor, Bill Harlan, these single-vineyard wines have been everything a Cabernet connoisseur could ever hope for since they were first released. Amazingly, these wines taste better with age than they did young, which is exactly what Harlan and his winemaking team of Bob Levy and consulting oenologist Michel Rolland are trying to prove.
