2003 Rieussec, Sauternes

97 points James Suckling: "So rich and powerful with so much dried apricots and citrus aromas and flavors. Caramel and toffee. Full and very sweet. Amazing." (10/2016) 92-95 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Medium yellow-gold. Reticent but pure aromas of fruit salad, spices and vanilla, lifted by floral and mineral nuances. Wonderfully honeyed, fat fruit flavors are complemented by cinnamon, clove and nutmeg. The sexy oak treatment gives lift to the wine. A bit youthfully aggressive but very long on the back end, showing vanillin oak ...

2003 La Tour Blanche, Sauternes

97 points Wine Spectator: " Dark gold in color already, with intense aromas of dried apricots, citrus, honey and maple syrup with lots of spice. Full-bodied, with lovely sweetness and a long, creamy peach tart, tobacco, honey aftertaste. This is pure botrytis. Best ever from here. Has an incredible finish. *Highly Recommended* (JS)" (03/2006) 93 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Enticing bright yellow-gold color. Subdued but very pure aromas of orange peel, apricot, honey and spices. Supersweet, fat and spicy; wonderfully round, chewy ...

2003 Guiraud, Sauternes

95 points James Suckling: "I might have a slight preference for this over the 2001 but I can’t make up my mind yet. It seems to have more richness and sweetness, with loads of apple tart, caramel and spice character. The noble rot certainly did its good here. Long, long finish. Beautiful sweet wine. Drink or hold." (07/2013) 95 points Wine Spectator: "This is very sweet and rich on the nose, with toffee, honey and spices. Full-bodied, with thick honey, spice, dried apricot and syrup flavors. Lasts for minutes on the palate. Big botrytis bomb. Love it. ...

2003 Coutet, Barsac

95 points Wine Spectator: "Honey, apple tart and lemon rind. Full-bodied, medium-sweet and very spicy with intense flavors of mace, apple and honey. Long finish. Thick and powerful. (JS)" (03/2006) 92 points Vinous: "Bright yellow-gold. Sexy aromas of orange liqueur and spices. Sweet, round and pure, with a lush texture verging on unctuous. And yet this is wonderfully aromatic and light on its feet. Very ripe and very complex in the mouth, with harmonious acids framing the flavors of orange oil, peach and spicy oak. Finishes very long, ripe and seamles ...

2003 Raymond Lafon, Sauternes (375ml)

92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "No tasting note given. (RP)" (04/2006) 92 points Wine Spectator: "Unctuous, boasting bold candied orange and grapefruit peel flavors that lead the way for lush date, glazed pear, pie crust and honey notes. Long and sweet through the finish. Shows the tropical power of the vintage, but stays refined enough. (JM, Web Only-2011)"

2003 Suduiraut, Sauternes (375ml)

96 points James Suckling: "A wonderful and fascinating wine with a tangy sweet and sour character. Full and very sweet, with a dried citrus character and an underlying orange marmalade note. Long and delicious already. Lovely balance for having such a ripe finish. This can age forever, but why deny yourself?" (03/2013) 93 points John Gilman: "The 2003 Suduiraut is the finest example of this vintage in Sauternes that I have yet tasted, though this is admittedly from a fairly small sampling of the vintage. The bouquet is deep, pure and very refined in it ...

2003 de Fargues, Sauternes

Robert Parker's original Wind Advocate review for this wine, which has 132-grams-per-liter residual sugar and an alcohol level of 13.9%, was 93 points in 2006. Following up in 2013, former Advocate reviewer Neal Martin preferred the 2005 and 2007 vintages, but favorably noted about the 2003 that "the palate has fine viscosity and spiciness on the entry – orange zest, mandarin and dried apricot at its heart."

2003 Smith Woodhouse Vintage Port (375ml)

91 points Wine Spectator: "Enjoyable ripe fruit and earthy components. Full-bodied and medium sweet, with lovely ripe tannins. Finish goes on and on. " (04/2006) 90 points Wine Enthusiast: "A fine, foursquare wine from one of the Symington-owned Port houses. It shows good tannins, delicious perfumed fruit and great ripeness. Along with this attractive fruit, there is an impressive streak of dry tannins which promise good aging. Imported by Premium Port Wines Inc. " (11/2005) 89 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good saturated ruby. ...
