100 points James Suckling: "I found a bottle of 1977 Fonseca in my cellar - probably my last. It was absolutely gorgeous. I gave this fortified wine a perfect score in its youth and I think it has finally evolved into its perfection as a mature vintage Port...This is in total balance now with such harmony. What amazing aromas of berry and flowers. Full and sweet, the tannins are complete dissolved. The fruit is perfect. This goes on for minutes. Drink now. But it will go forever. " (06/2016) 100 points Wine Spectator: "What a Vintage Port. Dark ruby ce...

97 points James Suckling: "This is really glorious and refined, offering a polished and creamy texture. Complex aromas and flavors with cream, dried fruit and nuts. Medium body. Very beautiful. A refined and glorious 1977 now. Real deal. " (01/2017) 93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This is an extraordinary house that seems to have been particularly successful with its vintage port since 1977. The 1977, still a baby, is fabulously scented, very rich and concentrated, and has a potential longevity of at least another 30-50 years. (RP)" (01/1989)...

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Graham is another great port house, producing one of the deepest-colored and sweetest styles of vintage port. Along with Taylor and Fonseca, Graham has probably been the most consistent producer of great port in the post- World War II era. Their tawnys are quite good rather than exceptional, but their vintage ports are truly sublime and sumptuous. (RP)" (01/1989) 91 points Wine Spectator: "This was never a great Graham, but it's outstanding quality nonetheless. Medium ruby-red. Aromas of milk chocolate, plum, m...

94 points James Suckling: "The Warre was beautiful now. It showed lots of dried fruits and Christmas cake character on the nose and palate. Medium sweet. It was full-bodied with loads of flavor and an intensely flavorful finish. It was perfect to drink. " (06/2016) 93 points Wine Spectator: "Deep garnet. Very pretty plum and berry aromas, with hints of honey and toffee. Turns to custard. Full-bodied, sweet and fresh. Firm tannins, with elegance and balance. Will age for a long time, but ready. Generous, but subtle. (JS, Web-2008)" 92 points Robert Par...

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1977 Gould Campbell Vintage Port (97WS, (94-95RP)). Wine Spectator: "Amazing color. Dark ruby center, with just a hint of garnet. This is very impressive on the nose. Crushed raspberry, coffee, licorice and chocolate. Complex. What a palate. Big, rich and powerful, yet balanced and pleasing. Full, medium-sweet and caressing. Silky. Drink it for the rest of your life. Why wait? Underrated around the world. (JS, Web Only-2008)"
Starting Bid: $155.00

Jancis Robinson: "Healthy ruby with a brick rim. Quite subtle already; there is some perceptible evolution of colour and flavour here. Mineral rather than fruit flavours dominate. Very big and full. Very, very sweet indeed - in fact I thought it was from a Portuguese house. This wine delivers a pretty good combination of power, interest and, especially, sweetness. This is not a wine to be ignored! But it's a very particular style....without enormous tannic reserves. (JR) 18/20 points" (08/2005) Wine Spectator: "Medium ruby-garnet. Aromas of fresh cherr...

100 points James Suckling: "Vintage Port doesn't seem like the right wine in the middle of the summer but I had an Amarone producer for dinner the other night in Tuscany and he had never drunk a wine from his birth year. He was lucky enough to have been born in 1977 - a great Port year! I found a bottle of 1977 Fonseca in my cellar - probably my last. It was absolutely gorgeous. I gave this fortified wine a perfect score in its youth and I think it has finally evolved into its perfection as a mature vintage Port. Here is the tasting note. 1977 Fonseca Vi...

98 points Vinous: "The 1977 Taylor's Vintage Port is initially tight and conservative on the nose: strawberry, baked cherry, tobacco and wild hedgerow notes emerging but remaining tight-lipped. This needs a good decant! The palate is endowed with depth and concentration, very well balanced with an attractive crispness. Perhaps you could argue that it is a "linear" and more "correct" Taylor's compared to the 1970 and lacks some charm. But there is immense complexity here so it is more a case of a Port demanding a very long maturation in bottle. Tasted in ...

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1977 Mayacamas Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (94VN, 90JG). Vinous: "The 1977 Cabernet Sauvignon emerges from the glass with dark red cherries, plums, smoke, tobacco, licorice and incense. This is another powerful, epic wine with plenty of life ahead of it. Mint, crushed flowers and licorice linger on an intense, layered finish supported by huge, massive tannin. Floral notes add an element of lift, but the 1977 remains quite dark and brooding in style. (AG)" (06/2014)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1977 Stag's Leap Wine Cellars "Lot 2" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. "The second year of a major Napa Valley drought brought also unexpected coolness. Amazingly, the dire predictions from the year before did not occur, and the fruit did not succumb to stress conditions, but rather seemed to gain from them. The vines must have somehow adapted to prepare for the conditions they expected to be repeated. The wines are rich, yet graceful." (Warren Winiarski, proprietor of Stag's Leap Wine Cellars)
