98 points Wine Spectator: "Pretty gorgeous from the get go, with toasted sesame, green tea, walnut husk, pistachio cream and peanut toffee notes seamlessly layered atop each other, framed by a subtle singed alder hint. Everything glides with grace through the finish, like a gently wafting plume of white smoke off of burning incense. (JM, Web Only-2017)" (10/2017) 95 points Wine Enthusiast: "One of a series of releases by this Port producer, this Colheita, or Port from a single harvest, is beautifully poised between red fruits and mature almond and an o...

Bid on this bottle of 1968 Charles Krug "Vintage Selection" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. An absolutely superb example of mature California Cabernet Sauvignon. Not everyone is aware that Charles Krug was one of California's few top wineries in the '50s and '60s, producing some of the best red wine in the state's history. From wine writer Richard Jennings: "93+ points. Bricking medium dark red violet color; tobacco, dried shitake mushroom, tart red currant, dried oregano nose; tasty, more youthful on palate, cassis, raspberry preservers, ripe cherry palate; medium-plus finish" (RJonWine.com, 10/2013)
Starting Bid: $170.00

Bid on this bottle of 1968 Heitz Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1968 possessed a complex, earthy, cassis-scented nose, lively, full-bodied, robust flavors, excellent concentration, and a long, spicy finish. While it does not possess the complexity or phenomenal extract of the 1968 Martha's Vineyard, it is still an impressive California Cabernet. (RP)" (04/1992)
Starting Bid: $300.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1968 Beaulieu Vineyard "Special Label" Rutherford Burgundy. Extremely rare to find a bottle of BV from the time when the de Latour family still owned the estate (it was sold to Heublein Inc. in 1969) and the renowned winemaker Andre Tchelistcheff was still at the helm, fashioning most of California's best wines to date.
Starting Bid: $270.00

Bid on this bottle of 1968 Heitz Cellar Napa Pinot Noir. From the legendary Joe Heitz, a classic California winemaker who helped inspire a rennaissance in the state and put Napa Valley on the map. There was a time when Pinot Noir had a foothold in Napa Valley, and well-stored examples of these wines from this bygone era are always a joy to experience. Heitz Cellars' reputation for traditional style was born in this time period, and this wine is a quintessential example of a crucial piece of California wine history.

Famed critic Robert Parker says of Lafite: "Bordeaux's most famous property and wine, with its elegant, undersized, and understated label, had become a name synonymous with wealth, prestige, history, respect, and wines of remarkable longevity."

*Special Order Only Based On Availability From The Distributor* Charles Maclean’s Tasting Notes… Cask No. 13504.“Amber with long-lingering beading. A mellow nosefeel, with slight prickle after a while. The highly perfumed initial aroma – scented hand-cream, attar of roses, carnations – reduces in time, infused by notes of almond oil and oak shavings, with a trace of vanilla. A drop of water enhances the wood notes. A smooth texture and a sweet taste, drying in the spicy finish, with a suggestion of Friar’s Balsam medicine and a cooling mentholic aftert...

*Special Order Only* *Based on availability from distribution* Charles Maclean’s Tasting Notes… Cask No. 13508. “18 carat gold in colour surprisingly good beading for its strength. A slight prickle on the nose and a complex, mellow aroma which is at once fruity and herbal – crystallised greengages, dusty dried mixed herbs – with an elusive whiff of scented smoke, a trace of cigar boxes and after a while a hint of candlewax. The texture is oily and the taste sweet and centre palate, with some saltiness and peppery spice in the long warming finish and a ...
