2001 d'Yquem, Sauternes (375ml)

100 points James Suckling: "This is so layered and intense on the palate with lemons and dried pineapple, mango and honey. Full body, very sweet, but it remains tangy and vibrant. Shows such amazing balance and intensity. Crazy finish. Hints of vanilla and apple purée. One of the greatest Yquems ever. All about purity here. " (09/2013) 100 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I have had the very good fortune to taste the 2001 d'Yquem perhaps a dozen times since its release and have never been less than absolutely floored by its combination of poise, ...

2015 d'Yquem, Sauternes (375ml)

100 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Following a very long harvest stretching nearly two months, the 2015 Château d'Yquem came in at 13.9% alcohol and 144 grams per liter of residual sugar, sporting a pH of 3.65 and six grams per liter of tartaric acid. None of these numbers, however, even remotely begin to tell you how profound this wine is. The nose opens with electric notes of ripe pineapples, green mango, orange blossoms and lemon tart with hints of fungi, lime zest, crushed rocks and jasmine. The freshness on the palate is just astonishing, pe ...

1983 Suduiraut, Sauternes (375ml)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This looks to be a good Suduiraut. A medium golden color, with a very honeyed, rich, floral bouquet... Sweet, with fine honeyed flavors, this is an elegant, graceful Suduiraut with plenty of character... (RP)" (01/1998) Wine Spectator: "Delicious and balanced, showing exciting earthy, white truffle flavors that add complexity to the honey and spice notes. Medium intensity. " (04/1995)

2011 Doisy-Daëne, Sauternes (375ml)

95-98 points Wine Spectator: "Very backward today, with viscous green plum, green almond, quince, pineapple, fig and pear notes still assimilating one another. The long, toasted almond- and ginger-filled finish has terrific depth." (04/2012) 95-97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The aromatics on the Doisy-Daene comes racing out of the blocks like a March hare, soaring from the glass with honey, quince and lychee aromas with a sorbet like freshness and vivacity. The palate is supremely well balanced with a heightened level of tension and purity, ...

2005 Coutet, Sauternes (375ml)

94 points Wine Enthusiast: "*#10 in Wine Enthusiast's Top 100 Wines of 2008* Surprisingly dry, this has richness rather than sweetness, and intense, powerful botrytis. The honey is intensely perfumed, along with baked apples and spice. Certainly a long-aging wine. (RV) " (06/2008) 92 points Connoisseurs Guide: "It is not unusual for late harvest wines to have a bit of a sharp, kerosene edge to their lush personalities, although that characteristic is more often associated with the sweet wines of Germany than it is with those of Sauternes. Yet there, i ...

1988 d'Yquem, Sauternes (375ml)

99 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Millionaires will have considerable fun comparing the evolution of the 1988 d'Yquem with the 1986. Both are super-rich, honeyed, botrytised wines. The 1988 exhibits a deeper color, as well as a more evolved, richer, and more complex bouquet. Aromas of melted butter, honeyed fruits, spicy nuts, and toasty new oak explode upward from the glass. The 1988 d'Yquem displays more richness and unctuosity than any young d'Yquem I have tasted. It should have 40-60 years of positive evolution, although one suspects that muc ...

2006 Doisy-Védrines, Sauternes (375ml)

93 points Wine Enthusiast: "A richly liquorous wine, ripe and packed with harmonious sweet textures. At the same time over the ripe structure there is a layer of lively lemon, spice and ginger, spiked with fresh tangerines. The end result is smooth, balanced and vibrant." (03/09) 90 points Stephen Tanzer: "Bright yellow-gold. Good citrus zest lift to the aromas of apricot, orange peel, marzipan and honey. Smooth, sweet and nicely concentrated, with a tactile, chewy quality to the honey and orange blossom flavors. With aeration, this showed a building fr ...

1990 Raymond Lafon, Sauternes (375ml)

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This small estate continues to turn out remarkably rich, unctuously-textured, thick, powerful wines that brilliantly balance power and intensity with elegance and finesse. Now that the 1988, 1989 and 1990 vintages have had some time in the bottle, it appears that the light to medium gold colored 1990 may be the most complete and botrysized among this trio of exceptional wines from Raymond-Lafon. All the wines possess a light to medium gold color, with the 1989 revealing a more evolved, deeper color. All three win ...

1989 Raymond-Lafon, Sauternes (375ml)

91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1989 exhibits aromas of honeyed pineapple/tropical fruit and toasty new oak, as well as an exotic, flashy perfume that is not as pronounced in either the 1990 or 1988. The 1989 exhibits less botrytis than the other two vintages. The wine possesses an opulent, full-bodied, exotic, lavishly rich personality, moderate sweetness, and huge quantity of extract, glycerin, and alcohol in its finish. The wine is also extremely young and unevolved. Anticipated maturity: 2000-2025. " (01/1998) 90 points Stephen Tanzer ...

2007 Lafaurie-Peyraguey, Sauternes (375ml)

94 points and an Editors' Choice, Wine Enthusiast: "A beautifully ripe wine, layered with the richest fruit, the acidity offering a bright moment within the richness. Botrytis is there, like a hard core for the pillow of ripe apricots, lychees, spice and fine freshness." (06/10) 93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Lafaurie-Peyraguey has fulfilled all my expectations since its impressive primeur showing. 2007 de Fargues, Sauternes (375ml)

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 de Fargues is just a little smudged at first on the nose, so putting it aside for 10-15 minutes, it soon gains more clarity and develops engaging aromas of clear honey, barley sugar, a touch of quince and pear, in many ways more Barsac in style than Sauternes. The palate is beautifully balanced on the entry with touches of lemon curd, barley sugar, pear, apple-blossom and ginger, the finish more persistent than it showed at primeur, lingering like a temptress with illicit intentions." The 2005 Château de Malle has a pleasing, harmonious, botrytis-rich bouquet with fine delineation: honeysuckle, minerals and orange-blossom gently floating from the glass. The palate is very well balanced with tensile citrus fruit that marries beautifully with the clear honey, mandarin and citrus notes. There is a compelling build to this wine in the mouth. (03/2013) 93 points John Gilman: "The 2003 Suduiraut is the finest example of this vintage in Sauternes that I have yet tasted, though this is admittedly from a fairly small sampling of the vintage. The second wine of Château Guiraud and made by Xavier Planty, Château Guiraud's oenologist since 1982. It is a modern style with a high proportion of Sauvignon Blanc (approximately one third), made from a blend of lots fermented in stainless steel (for minerality and freshness), and new French oak barrels, which promote the development of richness, body, and intensity of flavor on the palate. Guiraud has employed organic farming methods since 1996, and obtained organic certification in 2011.
