2014 Site Wines "Larner Vineyard" Red Blend Ballard Canyon Santa Barbara

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A step up over the 2013, with fabulous black raspberry, toasted spice, lavender and crushed flower-like aromas and flavors in its full-bodied, expansive, sexy and voluptuous personality, the 2014 Red Wine Larner Vineyard has tons of fruit, yet stays lively and weightless on the palate, with terrific purity and length. Made from 75% Syrah, 20% Grenache and 5% Viognier, with the Syrah aged in new puncheons and the Grenache in neutral barrels, it will dish out loads of pleasure over the coming 7-8 years. I continue ...

2007 Sanguis "Las Mujeres" Central Coast Red Blend (1.5L)

92 points James Suckling: "An unusual blend of Grenache and Syrah, with a splash of Roussanne and Viognier, this wine is massively rich in cherry and blackberry pie, caramelized oak, vanilla and cinnamon spice flavors. The addition of those few drops of white varieties brings brisk acidity and a tang of citrus and flowers." (05/2012) 92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Red Wine Las Mujeres is 68% Grenache, 26% Syrah, 4% Roussanne and 2% Viognier. It spent 40 months in French oak barrels prior to being bottled in February 2010. Las Mujere ...

2016 Kunin "Pape Star" Central Coast Rhône Blend

92 points Vinous: "The 2016 Pape Star is quite powerful in this vintage. Ample and generous, with terrific fruit density, the 2016 has so much to offer. Sweet red cherry, plum, rose petal and spice all flesh out. In 2016 the Pape Star is decidedly exuberant. Best of all, it remains a terrific value. Floral notes add lift on the finish. 2016 Margerum "M5" Santa Barbara County Rhône Blend

93 points Vinous: "The 2016 M5, Margerum's Grenache/Syrah-based wine, is lifted and gracious, with generous Grenache red-toned fruit leading the way. Medium in body and understated, the 2016 finishes with terrific energy and verve. (AG)" (09/2018) 92 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2016 M5 checks in as a blend of 44% Grenache, 36% Syrah, 12% Mourvèdre, 5% Counoise, 3% Cinsault that was brought up in neutral oak. This deep ruby/purple-tinged effort is a medium to full-bodied, ripe, beautifully textured effort that has rock star notes of black cherries, black r ...

90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2018 Rosé of Mourvèdre is pale cherry-pink with fresh aromas of raspberry leaves, ripe strawberries and baker's yeast with touches of melon, stone and peach. 2014 Comartin "Cuvée Cassidy" Santa Ynez Valley GSM (Previously $30)

92 points Wine Enthusiast: "Sagebrush, wild cherry, pomegranate, anise and crushed slate notes show on the nose of this blend of 45% Grenache, 50% Syrah and 5% Mourvèdre. Balanced acidity and tannins ensure good drinking both now and deep into the future, with chaparral-laced flavors of ripe raspberry, boysenberry and even watermelon. (MK)" (12/2017) K&L Notes: Winemaker Adam Comartin is a lifelong Grenache fan; he loves to play with the varietal in all its forms and expressions. 2013 Hammell Wine Alliance "True Believer" Rhône Blend (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2013 Hammell Wine Alliance "True Believer" Rhône Blend (1.5L) (98RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Even better, and a blend of 56% Grenache, 23% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre, 9% Petite Sirah and a splash of Viognier, the 2013 True Believer has off-the-hook notes of liquid blackberries, violets, fresh plums and crushed rocks to go with a fabulously pure, precise, ethereally textured and full-bodied style on the palate. Coming from the estate vineyard that is located just beside Bien Nacido, it was fermented with 20% whole clusters (everything was co-fermented), racked straight to barrel and aged 26 months in new French oak, before being bottled unfiltered. Hats off to winemaker Chris Hammell as this is up with some of the greatest Grenache blends I’ve tasted from California. It’s very hard to resist today, but will be better in 2-3 years and drink well for a decade after that. Drink through 2029. (JD)" (08/2016)

2014 Hammell Wine Alliance "True Believer" Rhône Blend (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2014 Hammell Wine Alliance "True Believer" Rhône Blend (1.5L) (95JD). Jeb Dunnuck: "A small step back from the total mind-blowing 2013, the 220-case 2014 True Believer is still incredible stuff and checks in as a blend of 51% Grenache, 27% Syrah, 11% Mourvèdre, 8% Petite Sirah and the rest Viognier and Roussanne. This deep ruby/purple colored beauty offers tons of ripe blackberry, currants, smoked herbs, pepper and melted licorice-like aromatics. Deep, sumptuous and decadent on the palate, with low acidity, it stays light on its feet and graceful, and certainly delivers loads of pleasure. Drink this blockbuster style beauty anytime over the coming decade or more." (08/2017)
