2017 Olivier Leflaive Bourgogne Blanc "Les Sétilles"
Top Pick!
91 points James Suckling: "As always a fresh and clean white with sliced cooked apples, lemons, some mango and a hint of stone. Medium-bodied, clean and bright. Drink now." (01/2019) 90 points Decanter: "No fewer than 65 parcels go into this commendably reliable cuvée, sourced from vineyards in Rully, Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet and the Hautes Côtes. It's lightly wooded, appealingly fresh and showing good citrus-like ping. (TA)" (10/2017) Wine Spectator: "This is bright, showing lemon, apple and light spice notes on a sleek frame. Leaves a mouthwat...

2014 Domaine Henri Boillot Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru "Clos de la Mouchère"
Back In Stock!
95 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This is sufficiently reduced that it presently masks the fruit and if you're tempted to try a bottle in its youth I would strongly advise decanting it first. Otherwise there is outstanding density to the focused and powerful middle weight plus flavors that stain the palate with dry extract that also helps to buffer the intensely mineral-driven finale that just goes on for minutes. This is flat out brilliant though note that it will not be an early drinker. In sum, this is a genuine 'wow' wine. *Outstanding*" (06/2016...

88-91 points Vinous: "(Pernot made almost 60 hectoliters per hectare of this village wine from his 6.5 hectares): Pure aromas and flavors of stone fruits, citrus blossom and white flowers, with a hint of minerality. Juicy, dry and classic, conveying noteworthy inner-mouth lift and harmonious acidity. As in so many past vintages, this should turn out to be an excellent village wine. (ST)" (09/2018) Allen Meadows - Burghound: "(from 4 different separate lieux-dits within Puligny and Blagny from vines that average 50 years of age). A smoky nose is compose...

2017 Domaine Paul Pernot Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru
Top Pick!
91-94 points Vinous: "(from vines averaging about 30 years of age, planted mostly in 1987 and 1990; Pernot pulled up more than one-third of his Bâtard vines after the 2016 for replanting; both this wine and the Bienvenue began in 50% new oak, with most of the rest of the barrels once used): Bright lemon-yellow color. Nose dominated by yellow peach and clove. More intense and filled in today than the Bienvenue but still not an opulent style. In fact, its lively balance of sweetness and acidity buffers its thickness and gives the wine a penetrating quality...

2017 Domaine Paul Pernot Bourgogne Blanc
Top Pick!
Allen Meadows - Burghound: "(from Puligny vines on the Meursault border – vinified in stainless steel). Whiffs of pear, apple, citrus and petrol can be found on the fresh and cool nose. The forward, forward and delicious flavors are also on the lighter side while offering an equally refreshing finish that exhibits both saline and bitter lemon characters." (06/2019) Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Aromas of ripe lemons, apples and flowers preface the 2017 Bourgogne Chardonnay, a medium-bodied, satiny wine with a succulent, elegantly textural profile in ...
Price: $24.99

Wine Spectator: "A compact style, offering lemon, apple and light spice flavors that take on a tactile feel on the finish. Offers just a hint of citrus peel bitterness for lift. Drink now. (BS, Web Only-2018)" Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This is aromatically similar to the Sétilles but with even more citrus influence that continues onto the tighter and more complex flavors that terminating in youthfully austere and sneaky long finish. This is a very good Bourgogne though it's one that will need at least a year or two of bottle age first. *Outstanding*" ...
Price: $22.99

92-93 points James Suckling: "This is a real Puligny with lemons and cooked apples. Hints of straw and limestone. Full- to medium-bodied, layered and clean. Bright finish. A beauty. Savory and salt at the end. Drink now. " (02/2018) 88-91 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Fresh and appealingly layered aromas grudgingly reveal notes of white peach, lavender, citrus zest and hint of oak. The round, caressing and utterly delicious medium-bodied flavors possess a relatively sophisticated mouth feel before ending in a dry, clean and mildly austere finish."...

Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Notes of petrol, pear and apple introduce the nicely dense, vibrant and super-fresh flavors that possess slightly better depth and persistence if, somewhat surprisingly, not quite the same refinement. Even so, this too is quite good for its level and a wine that would make a good all-around house white. *Outstanding, Top Value*" (06/2019) Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Carillon's 2017 Bourgogne Chardonnay bursts with scents of pastry cream, ripe lemons and white flowers. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, fleshy and...
Price: $24.99

89-91 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: " A more complex and much more floral-inflected nose reveals notes of citrus peel, spice, green apple and a whiff of oak toast. The denser if still quite seductively textured middle weight flavors possess an abundance of sappy dry extract that coats the palate on the lingering and equally complex finale. This isn't as elegant as it usually is but even so it offers fine quality for a villages level wine." (06/2019) 89-91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2017 Puligny-Montrachet Village is brighter and mor...

89-92 points Vinous: "Bright lemon-yellow. Subdued aroma of ripe peach, with a hint of flowers. Offers good energy and depth to its smoky, musky stone fruit flavors. The wine's minerality is apparent on the firm, rising back end, which is the longest of these 2017s to this point but a bit youthfully harsh without being dry. These vines are about 45 years of age, which Pernot does not consider to be especially old. (ST)" (09/2018) 91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2017 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Champ Canet reveals notions of sweet Mayer lem...

94 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2017 Puligny-Montrachet Les Chalumeaux 1er Cru comes from a great site and has tremendous class and purity as well as length. Still young and backward, but with loads of promise in its white flowers, crushed citrus, oyster shell, and salty, mineral-laced aromas and flavors. Incredibly pure, medium-bodied, and elegant on the palate, with, again, this terrific sense of class and elegance, it needs 3-4 years of bottle age to show its true potential and should shine over the following decade or more. " (04/2019) 94 points Wine S...

96 points Decanter: "Production is small here - just two-and-a-half barrels, none new - but the quality is impressive, as ever. With aromas of honeysuckle and hawthorn blossom, this is a wonderfully scented wine, showing lovely focus, chalky minerality and a zesty, almost nettley finish. Drinking Window 2021 - 2032. (TA)" (10/2018) 93-95 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "(from a .19 ha parcel; these are the oldest vines of the Domaine planted in 1938). A slightly more elegant if more restrained array grudgingly reveals notes of honeysuckle, orange pee...

2017 Domaine Paul Pernot Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru
Top Pick!
93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A ripe and ever-so-mildly exotic nose willingly offers up a hint of honeysuckle on the well-layered nose that combines white orchard fruit with those of spice and floral nuances. There is fine volume to the nicely concentrated flavors that coat the palate with sap on the refined, complex and citrusy finale. This is lovely and is a BBM of finesse." (06/2019) 93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Charming and expressive, the 2017 Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru bursts with aromas of ripe apples, white flow...

Neal Martin writes: "Located in the heart of the village of Puligny is Domaine Pernot-Belicard, a less well-known producer perhaps, though their premises are certainly impressive. The internet seems undecided on whether it is “Belicart” or “Belicard”, though it should be the latter and without hyphen. I met with Philippe Pernot, the son of Paul Pernot, who established the domaine with his wife in 2009. His approach in the vineyard is one of lutte raisonee..."

95 points Wine Enthusiast: "A taut, nervy, mineral-driven wine, this has intense citrus and grapefruit flavors, lemon grass spice and just the merest hint of wood. It’s the structure that gives this impressive wine such power, and a steely edge that will need at least 6–10 years. (RV)" (08/2013) 91-93 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "(tasted from tank): Pure, cool aromas of citrus fruits and crushed stone complicated by a leesy quality. Spicy, smoky and tight, in fact almost rigid today owing to its rocky minerality. Very fine-gra...

92-94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Aromas of beeswax, tangerine, yellow orchard fruit and crisp green apple introduce the 2017 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Folatières, a full-bodied, ample and voluminous wine with excellent depth at the core, succulent acids and chewy structuring extract, concluding with a long and penetrating finish. Carillon observed that this cuvée isn't far from 14% alcohol. (WK)" (04/2019) 90-92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A mildly exotic and more elegant nose flashes notes of mandarin orange, acacia blossom, ap...

90-93 points Vinous: "Bright light yellow. Sexy oak-spicy lift to the subtle aromas of nectarine and white peach, plus a captivating floral topnote. A step up in concentration of material over the foregoing wines but still a medium-bodied wine with very good precision. This will need time to absorb its oak element. Finishes dusty and lightly saline, with nicely integrated acidity and good length. Elsa Matrot noted that the Garenne fruit brings the acidity to this blend. (ST)" (09/2018) 91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2017 Puligny-Montrach...

91-93 points Vinous: "Pale, bright yellow. Aromas of yellow peach, fresh apricot, flowers and spices communicate a faintly exotic character. Rich, spicy and concentrated, with its stone fruit and citrus flavors accented by clove and anise notes. A fairly large-scaled premier cru but not at all heavy, thanks to its stony underpinning and adamant dryness. The chewy finish delivers lovely subtle rising length, very good grip and a hint of acacia flower. (ST)" (09/2018) Jancis Robinson: "Gorgeous creamy, mealy citrus aroma but still beautifully fresh. The ...

94 points James Suckling: "A very impressive array of peaches and lemons with wet stones and flinty, minerally notes, offering plenty of interest. The palate has a sleek and composed shape with a central focus of fresh, fleshy fruit and a succulent, long, acidity-fueled finish. Drink or hold." (01/2019) 90-92 points Vinous: "Pale, green-tinged yellow. Captivating scents of white peach, citrus fruits, spices and noble Puligny herbs, lifted by a suggestion of anise. A pure, nicely balanced midweight with a very primary estery banana note and a saline nua...

2014 Domaine Marc Colin St-Aubin 1er Cru "La Chateniere"
Back In Stock!
92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "There is just enough reduction present to push the underlying fruit to the background so be sure to decant this if you're tempted to pop a cork upon release. There is both excellent richness and delineation to the caressing medium-bodied flavors that exude a subtle minerality on the well-balanced and perfumed finale. I very much like the subtlety and interplay of the fruit, acid and dry extract that imparts a beguiling texture to the finish." (06/2016) 91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2014 Saint Aubin ...

92 points James Suckling: "his is impressive from the outset with a wealth of white peaches and melon, as well as green mangoes and subtle hazelnut notes. The palate has a very long, fresh delivery of fine and open-knit peaches and lemons. Plush and open. Drinking well already." (01/2019) 92 points Wine Spectator: "Features a sleek core, revealing lemon, apple and baking spice flavors, with soft touches around the edges. This white emphasizes structure and lemon and spice notes on the finish. Drink now through 2024. " (08/2019) 91 points Vinous: "The...

97 points John Gilman: "The Boudot family has crafted an absolutely magical example of Montrachet in 2017, as here, the powerful style of the grand crus in this vintage is perfectly matched to its underlying terroir. The bouquet is brilliant, soaring from the glass in a blaze of apple, pear, a touch of youthful grapefruit, complex, chalky minerality, bee pollen, apple blossoms and vanillin oak. the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, pure and racy, with a great core, superb soil complexity, vibrant acids and stunning length and grip on the beautifully...

89-92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: " Moderate wood frames white orchard fruit, floral and soft citrus nuances. The notably rich and relatively generously proportioned flavors possess an appealing sense of underlying verve before culminating in a stony, delicious and dry-in-the-best sense finish." (06/2019) 91-92 points John Gilman: "Jeremy Seysses used ten to fifteen percent new oak for his two Puligny premier crus in 2017. The Folatières was showing very good potential at the time of my visit (albeit a bit grumpy), wafting from the glass in a fin...

A slightly more elegant if more restrained array grudgingly reveals notes of honeysuckle, orange pee...

97 points Decanter: "Leflaive owns a comparatively large 1.8ha in Chevalier, running from the bottom to the top of the grand cru, so it's normally made in two separate lots. The oak needs a little more time to integrate, but this is another stellar performance by the legendary domaine. It's saline and elegant yet with understated richness and concentration - a world-class wine from a world-class vineyard. (TA)" (10/2018) 97 points John Gilman: "The 2017 Chevalier-Montrachet chez Leflaive is an absolute classic in the making. The beautiful bouquet wafts...

89-91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Notes of lemon oil, vanilla pod, green apple and blanched almonds introduce the 2017 Puligny-Montrachet Le Trézin, a medium to full-bodied, stony and saline wine with tangy acids and a succulent core of fruit. It's a definite success. The 2017 vintage is a great success for Domaine Marc Colin, an estate that today ranks among the Côte de Beaune's finest sources for white Burgundy. Eschewing stylistic extremes, Damien Colin is producing wines that combine amplitude and incisiveness to great effect. Thanks to...

92-94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2017 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Perrières is very promising indeed, offering up a youthfully reticent bouquet of crushed rocks, ripe citrus oil and white flowers. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, deep and satiny, with lovely purity, a taut, tensile core and a long, precise finish. To my palate, this is the finest Perrières that François Carillon has produced to date. (WK)" (04/2019) 91-93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "An exceptionally floral and citrus-inflected nose reveals add...

2010 Domaine des Comtes Lafon Le Montrachet Grand Cru
Back In Stock!
98 points Vinous: "The 2010 Montrachet Grand Cru is a spectacular wine that fulfills all its potential. The bouquet rivets you to the spot with yellow flowers, hints of honeysuckle and petrichor, with aeration becoming a little petrol-like. The palate is brimming over with nervous energy. There is incredible depth, real "thrust" to this Montrachet that just lacquers the senses, yet it is only just beginning to demonstrate what it can do. Wow. Bravo Mon. Lafon. Tasted at Noble Rot's Xmas dinner. (NM)" (05/2019) 97 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Ther...

92 points Wine Enthusiast: "Fermented and aged in wood, this is a rich wine. Its spice, ripe pineapple and mango flavors and dense texture show intense freshness as well as layers of toast, a complex texture and a short aging potential. Drink from 2021. (RV)" (12/2019) 89-91 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: " A much more elegant nose reflects notes of acacia blossom white peach, essence of spiced pear and hints of mandarin and oak. There is fine richness to the generously proportioned but well-focused medium-bodied flavors that terminate in a driving,...

Domaine Marc Jomain is a family enterprise. Brothers Philippe and Christophe Jomain and their sister Catherine, started the winery back in 1992 with vineyards left to them by their father Marc. They have holdings in four of Puligny-Montrachet's Premier Crus, as well a more than an acre in the Grand Cru of Bâtard-Montrachet. The wines benefit from extended lees contact and battonage, with limited new barrels. A great value, hand-picked from estate vineyards in Puligny Montrachet.
Price: $19.99

90-92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Enough reduction is present to push the underlying fruit to the background. Otherwise there is a similar sense of energy to the slightly rounder and softer medium-bodied flavors that aren't quite as mineral-driven or complex but do offer fine persistence on the balanced finish. This should be approachable young if desired." (06/2018) 92 points Wine Spectator: "This white is lush, exuding peach, lemon, apple tart and baking spice aromas and flavors. Well-proportioned, if in need of some time to integrate more ful...

93 points Decanter: "Leflaive's village Puligny is back as a reference point for the village under new cellarmaster, Pierre Vincent. Aged in 15% new wood, this comes from five different parcels and is tangy, focussed and appealingly stony, with good freshness and palate length. Drinking Window 2020 - 2025. (TA) " (10/2018) 92 points John Gilman: "The 2017 Puligny villages from Domaine Leflaive is excellent, with a fine sense of reserve at the present time that really augurs well for its future. The classic bouquet wafts from the glass in a complex bl...

95 points Wine Spectator: "A lean, taut style, with fine concentration to the apple, white peach, lemon zest and baking spice flavors. There is energy and a tactile sensation as this white reaches a crescendo on the long, hazelnut- and mineral-tinged aftertaste. (BS)" (08/2019) 92-94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Firm reduction renders the nose impossible to assess today. More interesting are the racy, tight, intense and relatively powerful medium weight flavors that possess first-rate mid-palate concentration thanks to the copious level of dry ex...

94 points Tim Atkin, MW: "Philippe Pernot is one of few, if any, growers who have vines in both Meursault and Puligny-Montrachet Perrières (the two Premiers Crus are not adjacent). This shows that he’s equally adept outside his home village. Floral, leesy and textured, but with the freshness of this terroir in the upper part of Meursault. 2020-28." (01/2018)
Price: $89.99

89-91 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A strikingly fresh and pretty nose combines notes of citrus, apple and acacia blossom. The rich, round and generously proportioned medium weight flavors possess a seductive mouth feel and subtle minerality before concluding in a sappy, focused and moderately firm finale. A quality Puligny villages. *Outstanding, Top Value*" (06/2018) 90-91 points John Gilman: "I really like the stylistic variations of the three different cuvées of the 2016 Puligny AC that will eventually make up the final blend here, as each bri...

92 points John Gilman: "Céline Fontaine’s parcel of vines in Morgeot are in the extreme southern end of the vineyard, situated between the superb climat of la Cardeuse and the Santenay border. Her 2017 bottling is the first premier cru in the cellar here that really will demand a bit of bottle age before it starts to drink with generosity, which I take as a good sign for its future development. The nose delivers a promising mix of apple, lemon, a touch of orange, lovely minerality, vanillin oak and a delicately floral topnote redolent of white flowers. O...

2009 Domaine des Comtes Lafon Le Montrachet Grand Cru
Back In Stock!
94-97 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This is also quite reserved with a riper and considerably more complex nose of primarily exotic yellow orchard fruit, floral notes and a panoply of spice nuances that is trimmed in subtle oak toast. The big-bodied, dense and stunningly complex flavors are opulent yet focused and precise before culminating in a balanced and incredibly persistent finish." (02/2011) 96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Montrachet is just as glorious in bottle as it was from barrel. Layers of rich, expressive fruit car...

Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A pretty and expressive nose speaks of spiced apple, citrus and a variety of white-fleshed fruit aromas. The nicely dense and mineral-inflected middle weight flavors possess a more refined texture than is typically found, all wrapped in a vibrant and lingering finish. A quality effort for its level." (06/2019) K&L Notes: Jasper Morris for Inside Burgundy: "Beautifully clear fruity nose, lively but not aggressive, almost with a strawberry fruit juiciness in the mouth. Very clean, correct acidity, good length. A wine to give a...

95 points Decanter: "Les Perrières, located close to the border with Meursault at the bottom of the slope, often seems to show more minerality at Carillon. True to form, this 0.6ha parcel has produced a zesy, crunchy, saline Puligny with some tangerine and citrus fruit and a hint of quince. Drinking Window 2020 - 2027. (TA) " (10/2018) 92-94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2017 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Perrières is excellent, displaying a classy bouquet of crisp white peach, pastry cream, beeswax and green apple, followed by a medium...

Jean Claude's grandfather, Pierre, is one of the most storied characters in contemporary Burgundy history, having built up one of the most enviable domaines in the region through humble yet persistent hard work. Today Jean Claude runs the domaine much as his grandfather did. These are among the most sought-after Chardonnays in the world in any given vintage. This wine hails from the Enseignères vineyard, a village cru that sits directly below the grand cru Bâtard-Montrachet. Importer's notes: "On the nose, the wine exhibits discreet wood notes, floral an...

89-91 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A discreet application of wood easily allows the aromas of acacia blossom, lavender, citrus and the essence of white-fleshed fruit to be appreciated. The caressing and quite refined flavors exude a subtle salinity on the refreshing, firm and sneaky long finale. This should make for a very fine villages with a few years of cellaring." 2017 Domaine Louis Jadot (Domaine des Heritiers) Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru "Les Demoiselles"
New!
94-97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2017 Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru Les Demoiselles (Domaine des Héritiers Jadot) is very serious indeed, unfurling in the glass with notes of yellow citrus fruits and white flowers that mingle with hints of crushed chalk, framed by smoky new oak. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, deep and multidimensional, with searing concentration, chewy dry extract and bright acids, concluding with a long, authoritative finish. This powerful and structured Chevalier will require some bottle age. (WK)" (01/2019) ...
