2012 Booker "Vertigo 24" Paso Robles Rhône Blend

95-97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Still in barrel, the 2012 Vertigo 24 release shows a similar level of purity to go with killer aromatics (black raspberry, bouquet garni and licorice), full-bodied richness and a layered, decadent style on the palate. It has a tad more richness and depth than the straight bottling, and is an incredible red. (JD)" (08/2014) 91-93 points Vinous: "The 2012 Vertigo 24 has a little more tannic spine than the straight Vertigo. Dark red stone fruits, spices, mint and new leather are all very much alive. Although qu ...

2015 Booker "Oublie 22" Paso Robles Rhône Blend

95 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The extended aged version of the Oublie, the 2015 Oublie 22 (38% Mourvèdre, 30% Grenache, 23% Syrah and 9% Counoise) spent 22 months in barrel and sports a slightly deeper color as well as notes of black cherries, graphite, cured meats, pepper and assorted butcher shop-like notes. It’s slightly more concentrated than the base cuvée, its tannin is slightly more polished, and it will also evolve slightly longer." (08/2017) 95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Composed of 38% Mourvèdre, 30% Grenache, 23% Syrah and 9% Counoise, ...

2015 Clos Solene "Hommage A Nos Pairs" Reserve Paso Robles Syrah

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A blend of 95% Syrah, 3% Grenache and 2% Viognier, the 2015 Hommage à nos Pairs Reserve opens in the glass with notes of black cherry, cassis, blackberries and bay leaf, framed by a light touch of new oak that's already nicely integrated. On the palate, it's full-bodied, deep and concentrated, with a taut, layered core, an ample chassis of rich, chalky tannins and a long, youthfully chewy finish. This will reward a few years of patience and should enjoy 10-15 years of longevity. Drink 2020-2033. (WK) 95+" (05/201 ...

2012 Booker "Oublié 24" Paso Robles Rhône Blend

93-95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Slightly more savory and rich than the straight Oublie release, the 2012 Oublie 24 gives up more bouquet garni, black fruits and ground herbs to go with a full-bodied, fabulously concentrated feel on the palate. It too has a southern Rhone-like feel and should drink nicely on release and evolve gracefully for 7-8 years. Created in 2005, owner/winemaker Eric Jenson has pushed Booker Vineyard into the top 2-3 estates in the region. While the defining trait in the past was sheer richness and texture, I think th ...

2015 Booker "Fulldraw" Paso Robles Rhone Blend

96 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2015 Fulldraw comes from a site located just beside Jensen’s estate Booker Vineyard and is 50% Grenache, 30% Mourvèdre and 20% Syrah. It has a gorgeous, Châteauneuf du Pape-like (it reminds me of Domaine de Marcoux’s Vieilles Vignes cuvée) perfume of red and black fruits, spice-box, incense, fennel and cured meats. Ethereally textured and elegant, yet also ripe, powerful and concentrated, it has ripe tannin, it’s an incredible wine that builds with time in the glass. While beautiful today, it will be even better with short ter ...

93-96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The extended barrel-aged release of the Vertigo cuvee, the 2013 GSM Vertigo EXT was still in barrel at the time of this tasting. Similar in style, with full-bodied depth and richness, it has more toasted bread, meaty, bloody notes and spice as well as a sexy, voluptuous and seamless style on the palate. Drink through 2022. 2011 Tablas Creek "Panoplie" Paso Robles Rhône Blend

96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Just bottled at the time of this tasting, the 2011 Esprit de Tablas Panoplie might end up being the wine of the vintage from Paso Robles. Primarily Mourvedre, it offers up knockout black and red fruits, crushed flowers, roasted meat, licorice and spice to go with a full-bodied, balanced and textured palate that builds in richness and depth as it sat in the glass. As with the straight Esprit de Tablas, it is a savory effort that has superb complexity and big structure. Give it another 2-3 years and enjoy over the ...

2014 Booker "Estate" Paso Robles Red Blend

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted out of bottle and a blend of 51% Tempranillo, 28% Syrah, 13% Petit Verdot and 8% Grenache, the 2014 Booker Estate is about as silky and seamless as they get. Sporting a vibrant purple/ruby color and vibrant notes of creme de cassis, jammy blackberries, melted licorice, spice and toasty oak, this full-bodied red glides across the palate with no weight, beautiful purity and shows building, chalky tannin on the palate. 2014 Booker "Fulldraw" Paso Robles Rhone Blend

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "First made last year, the 2014 Fulldraw checks in as a mix of 46% Syrah, 33% Grenache and 21% Mourvedre that was raised mostly in barrel. Its inky purple color is followed by a rockin', sweet, layered bouquet of creme de cassis, black plums, vanilla bean, licorice and cured meats. A classic Paso Robles GSM blend, with full-bodied richness, no hard edges, tons of sweet fruit and beautiful purity, it benefits from a decant and will shine for upwards of a decade. 2010 Booker "Alchemist 22" Paso Robles Red Blend

94-96 points Vinous: "In my view, the 2010 Alchemist 22 is the wine that seems to gain the most through the extended time in barrel, as the tannins have an element of polish that isn’t found in the regular bottling. Perfumed aromatics are woven throughout an expressive core of dark red fruit, licorice, tar and mint. The overall impression is one of seamless beauty and tons of promise. This is a fabulous showing from Booker and proprietor Eric Jensen. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2019. " (08/2012)

Sporting a saturated purple color, it offers fabulous notes of cassis, blackberries, crushed rock, licorice and dried Provencal herbs (lavender, thyme) in a full-bodied, rich package. One of the more tannic wines from Eric, it needs 2-3 years of bottle age and will have a decade or more of longevity. (JD)" (06/2016) 94 points Vinous: "Opaque ruby. 2012 Tablas Creek "Panoplie" Paso Robles Rhône Blend

94-96 points Vinous: "A rich, ample wine, the 2012 Panoplie is also a great example of the year. Here the fruit is sweet and textured to the core, yet there is plenty of underlying energy in support. The textured, explosive finish is a thing of beauty. I expect the 2012 to be compelling pretty much upon release. Actually, it already is. (AG)" (07/2014) 93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The top wine of the estate and the least impressive Panoplie I've tasted, the 2012 Panoplie (70% Mourvedre, 20% Grenache and 10% Syrah) offers a darker slant to ...

A blend of 60% Mourvèdre, 30% Grenache, 10% Syrah that’s aged all in foudre, this full-bodied, powerful effort will require even more bottle time than the Esprit de Beaucastel, yet will have two decades or more of longevity. Also slightly more lifted and perfumed, it dishes out beautiful aromas and flavors of cassis, raspberry, flowers and copious spice box qualities that give way to a full, rich 2011 that has superb mid-palate depth, sweet tannin and a big finish. 2016 Booker "The Ripper 22" Paso Robles Grenache

97 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The same wine as the straight Ripper only aged longer in barrel, the 2016 Ripper 22 is cut from the same cloth yet is slightly deeper and more rounded, with sensational notes of kirsch, blackberry liqueur, ground pepper, and leafy herbs. This full-bodied, rich, textured beauty shows slightly more evolution aromatically, yet I love its mid-palate density and length. 2012 Saxum "Broken Stones" Paso Robles Rhône Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Saxum "Broken Stones" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (97RP, 95VN, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Syrah Broken Stones is a beauty. Made from 79% Syrah, 7% Petite Sirah and the rest Grenache, Mourvedre and Roussanne, it offers up full-bodied, decadent, yet incredibly pure notes of creme de cassis, smoked earth, pepper and violets. Seamless and silky, yet with a great mid-palate and notable tannin, it needs 2-3 years of bottle age and will have 15 years or more of overall longevity. (JD)" (08/2015)

2015 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2015 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (97RP, 97VN, 96JD, 95WS). Vinous: "Glass-staining ruby. Heady aromas of mineral-tinged dark berry liqueur, incense and roasted coffee, with a suave floral nuance adding brightness. Smoky, appealingly sweet and focused, offering palate-staining black and blue fruit and candied licorice flavors that are braced by juicy acidity and a late flourish of five-spice powder. Closes with outstanding clarity and floral-dominated persistence, leaving suave floral pastille and spicecake notes behind, eventually. (JR)" (11/2017)
