2010 Tablas Creek "Esprit de Beaucastel Panoplie" Paso Robles Rhône Blend

94-96 points Jeb Dunnuck: "More rich and full, with additional roasted herb, licorice, and meaty aromas, the 2010 Tablas Creek Esprit de Beaucastel Panoplie is a big, dense 2010 that has loads of fruit, yet still shows the vintage with a cool purity of fruit, integrated acidity, and firm tannin that frames the finish. A blend of 60% Mourvèdre, 30% Grenache, 10% Syrah that’s aged all in foudre, this full-bodied, powerful effort will require even more bottle time than the Esprit de Beaucastel, yet will have two decades or more of longevity. 2010 Saxum "Heart Stone Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "More dense and rich, the 2010 Heart Stone Vineyard is a co-fermented blend of 51% Syrah and 49% Grenache that comes from a small 7-acre, south-facing vineyard located on the western side of Paso Robles. Aged mostly in large oak puncheons for 20-28 months, it offers up a savory, complex bouquet of kirsch and blackberry-like fruit, meat juice, Provencal herbs, dried licorice, and dusty minerality. Gorgeous on the palate as well, with a deft, elegant texture, building richness, and layers of chewy tannin, this beaut ...

2010 Tablas Creek "Esprit de Beaucastel" Paso Robles Rhône Blend

93-95 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Firm, structured, and showing the coolness of the vintage beautifully, the 2010 Tablas Creek Esprit de Beaucastel (45% Mourvèdre, 30% Grenache, 21% Syrah, and 4% Counoise) is a fresh, focused, and balanced red that has loads of crushed berry like fruit, licorice, sappy underbrush, and floral nuances, as well as superb underlying minerality, all emerging from the glass. Quite tight and firm on the palate, with excellent purity, juicy acidity, and a youthful, energetic feel, this will most likely require 3-5 years of bottle age o ...

2010 Carlisle "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Syrah

92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Smoke, tar, incense, licorice and game literally explode from the glass in the 2010 Syrah James Berry Vineyard. A deep, imposing wine, the 2010 shows the more masculine side of Syrah in its flavor and structure. Big tannins frame the broad, explosive finish. This isn’t a subtle wine by any means, but it is full of personality. The James Berry Syrah was made with about 17% whole clusters. (AG)" (04/2013) 90 points Wine Spectator: "Tightly wound and restrained, with a mix of gravelly earth, dried berry, cedar, nu ...

2010 Turley "Ueberroth" Paso Robles Zinfandel

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Turley’s 2010 Zinfandel Ueberroth Vineyard, from one of the top sites in Paso Robles, strikes a gorgeous stylistic middle ground. Complex and beautiful, the 2010 possesses gorgeous mid-palate pliancy while remaining light on its feet. Blackberries, plums and exotic spices are all layered into the round, perfumed finish. I can’t wait to see how this ages. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2025. (AG)" (12/2012) 94 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "(15.8% alcohol): Dark red. Knockout aromas of dark f ...

2010 Booker "Alchemist 22" Paso Robles Red Blend

94-96 points Vinous: "In my view, the 2010 Alchemist 22 is the wine that seems to gain the most through the extended time in barrel, as the tannins have an element of polish that isn’t found in the regular bottling. Perfumed aromatics are woven throughout an expressive core of dark red fruit, licorice, tar and mint. The overall impression is one of seamless beauty and tons of promise. This is a fabulous showing from Booker and proprietor Eric Jensen. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2019. " (08/2012)
