2009 Alexandre Le Brun "Cuvée Dilection" Brut Rosé Champagne (Previously $80)

Alexandre Le Brun is a young winemaker from Monthelon in the Ardenne (Marne) region of Champagne. He is a ninth-generation winemaker. His family established themselves in Champagne in 1750, and their cellars were built in 1822. The delectable Dilection is based on the incredible 2009 vintage with 85% Chardonnay and 15% Pinot Meunier. Only French oak is used and the vineyard where the grapes are sourced was planted in 1902. It is rich, but classically dry with dark cherry and strawberry fruit on the finish, which lingers.

A.D. Coutelas "Cuvée Louis Victor" Brut Champagne (Previously $40)

90 points Wine Enthusiast: "Fermented in wood and with the addition of a high proportion of reserve wines, this rich bottling displays a creamy texture and good acidity. It hints at the wood and is on the dry side. (RV)" (12/2016) K&L Notes: The Louis Victor from Coutelas is made in the solera style, from one large barrel containing a perpetual blend. Coutelas lists this as composed of 1/3 each Chardonnay, Meunier and Pinot Noir, but in fact, it is refreshed with 1/4 of the best wine vinified in a given year, while another 1/4 is taken out and bottled. ...

Chante Cigale means singing cicada (a type of grasshopper/cricket), and the Cicada red is their early-drinking, everyday Grenache-Carignan blend. The property has been in the family since the 19th century and is currently run by Alexandre Favier, who assumed the reins at the ripe old age of 20. The domaine is planted to 40 hectares of red varietals and 5 hectares of white varietals spread across 45 different parcels throughout the appellation.

1997 L'Encantada 20 Year Old "Bellair #36" Bas-Armagnac (750ml) (Previously $100)

Independent bottler L'Encantada understands what Armagnac lovers want because that's exactly what they are. This group of Armagnac-loving friends realized that some of the region's small estates were throwing away legendary eau-de-vie to blends made by the big négociants. They offered those estates a premium to retain the stocks for bottling as single casks at full strength. Many of these estates had never bottled Armagnac nor had any interested in marketing their precious eau-de-vie. Our friends at L'Encantada realized that the soul of Armagnac exists i ...

2015 Samsara Santa Rita Hills Pinot Noir

94 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2015 Pinot Noir Sta Hills is a winner. Aged 22 months in 25% new French oak, drink it any time over the coming 8-10 years. Drink through 2028." (10/2018) 93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2015 Pinot Noir Sta. 2018 Domaine Vacheron Sancerre

From the importer: "With cellars located in the charming, hilltop town of Sancerre, Jean-Laurent and Jean-Dominique Vacheron have vineyards in mainly the eastern part of Sancerre on hard, flinty soils as well as smaller holding on softer limestone and clay soils. Their 'village' Sancerre bottling draws from both terroirs to create a subtle, mineral and completely satisfying wine. One of the few estates in Sancerre to harvest entirely by hand this wine is fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged in tank for at least 4 months before bottling."

Finally, the great 2005 Gran Reserva from our favorite Rioja winery has arrived! As is the case with so many other great spots in Spain, Bodega Casa Juan is located opposite the village church, in the beautiful walled pueblo of Laguardia. The winery is a converted flour mill, featuring concrete tanks for fermenting and blending the wine, and barrels that are used for up to seven years. 1988 Cambus 29 Year Old "Sovereign" K&L Exclusive Single Barrel Cask Strength Single Grain Scotch Whisky (750ml) (Previously $100)

The shuttererd Cambus distillery had a spectacular history in the development of modern whisky and has had an equally important, albeit shorter and more recent, history in K&L's direct import program. At the dawn of the 20th century not everyone was in agreement that grain whisky produced on a Coffey still could actually be considered whisky. The extraordinary quality of Cambus was a key component in establishing that precedent which is a huge part of today's whisky trade. In fact, for many years, Cambus formed a large portion of Johnnie Walker Blue. Unf ...

While we take every opportunity we get to buy a blue chip distillery cask at reasonable prices, it's the unsung heroes that I believe make our Scottish single cask program truly compelling. Benrinnes is just such a distillery. One of the many workhorses in Diageo's stable, this Speysider is prized for its massive contribution to the final texture and profile of blends. While we've bottled many older expressions in the past that have showcased the distillery's unique partial triple distillation technique, we thought it time to show off the younger, freshe ...

The unusual Domaine Le Parre is the first producer in Tenarèze to be uncovered by the crew at L'Encantada. This is a beautiful little estate situated on a plateau, which boasts boulbène soils and was planted to mostly Baco with a small percentage of Ugni Blanc. The domaine stopped cultivating vines in 1995 and was famous for having a giant barrel fashioned from an old train car. 2004 Fettercairn 14 Year Old "Old Particular" K&L Exclusive Single Barrel Cask Strength Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky (750ml) (Previously $60)

The tumultuous ownership history of Fettercairn has been in part responsible for the lack of brand recognition. While it has long been bottled as a single malt, it has never gained much notoriety that way and the bulk of its stocks end up in blends, most recently for Whyte and Mackay. An interesting production set up, particularly from 1995 to 2009 when they used stainless steel condensers, has lent itself to a nutty and heavy style to the malt. Fortunately for K&L drinkers, this 14 year old whisky has taken that natural style and matured into a oily, ri ...

In the 1990s, under the ownership of Beam Suntory, after a period of closure, Glen Garioch reopened and started producing the unpeated whiskey they're known for today. 91 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2017 Côtes du Roussillon Villages Can't Get Enough By Séverine Bourrier is a blend of Grenache, Syrah, and Carignan brought up stainless steel. This pretty, fresh, elegant red offers outstanding notes of red and black fruits, spring flowers, wet stone-like minerality and hints of forest floor. I love its forward, charming style and it’s ideal for drinking over the coming 3-4 years." (11/2018)

2016 Domaine Courbis "La Sabarotte" Cornas (Previously $80)

94-96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The top Cornas here is the 2016 Cornas la Sabarotte. It’s aging in 80% new oak until being bottled in June 2018. Yes, it’s an unabashedly modern style, full-bodied, creamy in texture and offering pristine purple raspberry fruit, but man is this good. It will be hard to keep from drinking this in its first 5-10 years. (JC)" (12/2017) 94 points Vinous: "Bright purple. Highly perfumed black and blue fruit liqueur aromas, along with hints of exotic spices, potpourri, olive and smoky minerals. Densely packed cass ...

2015 Fratelli Barale "Castellero" Barolo (Previously $50)

93 points James Suckling: "Beautifully attractive roses and notes of ripe prunes and Californian dates, as well as red plums and tar. The palate is plush, rich and ripe with sweeping waves of tannins carrying ripe plum and cherry flavors. Drink or hold." (01/2019) 91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2015 Barolo Castellero opens to ripe fruit aromas of blackberry and dried cherry with spice, cinnamon and tilled earth. This expression shows some of the earthy intensity of the vintage, with plenty of black ripe fruit at the back. The alcohol is ...

1995 Glen Keith 21 Year Old "John Milroy" K&L Exclusive" Single Barrel Cask Strength Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky (750ml) (Previously $110)

This wonderful cask of Glen Keith was selected by our friend Doug McIvor for its exceptional balance and character. The distillery in Keith has been rare in modern times due to its closure from 2000 until 2013. While it served as a partner to neighboring Strathisla as one of the component malts in the Chivas Blend, it was also the site of much experimentation and some unusual production techniques. There they developed unique yeast strains and alternative ways of peating whisky--namely the use of extremely peaty water to ferment the mash. Keith has long ...
