2016 Domaine des Chezeaux (Ponsot) Griotte-Chambertin Grand Cru

92-95 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Airy and cool aromas are comprised by notes of black cherry, raspberry, spice and newly turned earth. There is flat out superb intensity to the mineral-driven and sleekly muscular middle weight plus flavors that possess a more sophisticated mouthfeel before concluding in a dusty, serious, palate coating and ultra-saline finish that goes on and on. Note however that this beauty of a Griotte is markedly firm and will not be an especially inviting early drinker." (01/2018) 95 points John Gilman: "The 2016 Griotte f ...

2017 Domaine des Chezeaux (Ponsot) Griotte-Chambertin Grand Cru

90-92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "An elegant and admirably pure nose offers up notes of red cherry, spice, violet and lavender along with hints of earth and forest floor. The supple and almost delicate flavors exude a subtle minerality on the delicious if mildly short finish that once again flirts with dryness. (01/2019) K&L Notes: 93-96 points Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy: "Glowing fresh mid purple. Superb gra ...

2016 Domaine Trapet Père et Fils Chambertin Grand Cru

95-97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2016 Chambertin Grand Cru contains 50% whole bunch fruit this year, after half the vineyard (three parcels) was decimated by frost. It has a very elegant bouquet that takes time to unfold in the glass: blackberry, raspberry, wild hedgerow, wet stone and a touch of graphite. The palate is medium-bodied with fine grain tannin, leaning more toward red fruit than black, well balanced with a fine line of acidity and a grainy, structured finish. Classic Chambertin here and a great success considering the extent ...

2016 Domaine Trapet Père et Fils Gevrey-Chambertin

88-91 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Relatively cool and airy aromas feature notes of dark currant, earth and a subtle suggestion of the sauvage. Once again there is a lovely palate impression to the sappy and relatively supple medium-bodied flavors that tighten up on the youthfully austere and persistent finish. This will need at least a few years to unwind because even though it's not especially tannic, it is tightly wound." (01/2018) 90 points John Gilman: "The 2016 Gevrey villages bottling at Domaine Trapet is quite black fruity this year, offe ...
