2017 Domaine Jamet Collines Rhodaniennes Syrah

90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2017 IGP Collines Rhodanienne Syrah comes from a parcel grown on mica schist near the winery and a parcel on the plateau de Condrieu grown on granite. Unlike most of the reds here, it's destemmed. The wine then spends eight to ten months in used barrels (10-15 years old) prior to bottling. Scents of struck flint and crushed stone accent raspberry fruit on the nose, while the medium-bodied palate (the wine is only 12.5% alcohol) is supple. It finishes silky and bright, a sort of mini Côte Rôtie for early drink ...

2017 Rene Rostaing "Cote Blonde" Côte-Rôtie (Pre-Arrival)

97 points Decanter: "The winemaking at Domaine Rostaing is now in the hands of René's son Pierre, and it follows the same format for all the Côte-Rôties: four weeks in tank, 18 months in mostly old oak, natural yeasts, and as many stems as possible. A certain spice and perfume is contained within a dark, brooding mass, which has really fragrant, lifted, sweet berry fruit. There's considerable tangy berry acidity and blackberry-skin tannins, and it shows a good sense of refinement despite the remarkably powerful sinew. A very long, well balanced finish. G ...

2017 Rene Rostaing "La Landonne" Côte-Rôtie (Pre-Arrival)

95-97 points Jeb Dunnuck: "A bigger, richer, more brooding wine, the 2017 Côte Rôtie La Landonne boasts stunning (and classic La Landonne) aromas and flavors of black fruits, smoked meat, and scorched earth. Full-bodied, beautifully concentrated, and structured, this is one of the few 2017s that’s going to really demand cellaring. " (12/2018) 94-96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2017 Cote Rotie la Landonne looks a bit simple at the moment, but it's early days. Rich, ripe raspberry fruit muscles out any other nuances in this full-bodied, ve ...

2017 M. Chapoutier "La Mordorée" Côte-Rôtie (Pre-Arrival)

98-100 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The flagship La Mordorée cuvée is always destemmed and vinified in concrete tanks before spending 18 months in 30% new French oak. Flamboyant, sexy, and pure, the 2017 Côte Rôtie La Mordorée knocks it out of the park with its crazy good bouquet of black raspberries, flowers, olives, bacon fat, and gamey, meaty nuances. Insanely complex, elegant and seamless, with a pure silk-like texture, this beauty has no hard edges, ultra-fine tannins, and a great, great finish. It has perfection written all over it and is quite possibly th ...

2017 Rene Rostaing "Ampodium" Côte-Rôtie (Pre-Arrival)

91-94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2017 Cote Rotie Ampodium shows an extra level of concentration when compared to the 2016, without sacrificing the gorgeous aromas of violets, raspberries and tea leaves. It's medium to full-bodied, finishing silky and long. (JC) " (10/2018) 92-93 points Vinous: "Brilliant violet color. An expansive bouquet evokes ripe black/blue fruits, potpourri and olive paste. A lively mineral nuance builds in the glass. Shows impressive depth and energy on the palate, offering sappy dark berry, spicecake and violet f ...

2017 Saint Cosme Côte-Rôtie

93-95 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2017 Côte-Rôtie (all from the Côte Brune) shows a more floral character yet still has plenty of Côte Brune power, weight, and richness. Black fruits, spiced meats, olive, and gamey notes all flow to a medium to full-bodied, ethereal 2017 that’s already hard to resist. It’s a beautiful wine in the making and bodes well for the vintage." (09/2018) 92-94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Notes of smoked meat and cold fireplace mark the nose of Saint Cosme's 2017 Cote Rotie. It's medium to full-bodied, with a plush, sedu ...

2017 Ferraton Père et Fils "Lieu Dit Montmain" Cote-Rotie (Pre-Arrival)

94-96 points Jeb Dunnuck: "As to the single Côte Rôtie, it comes from a site in the Côte Brune side of the appellation, just to the north of la Viallière. Notes of spices, crushed flowers, black raspberries, incense, and hints of gamey meats all emerge from the 2017 Côte Rôtie Lieu Dit Montmain, which is all destemmed Syrah brought mostly in neutral barrels. Possessing medium to full body, sweet tannins, and a great texture, it has the classic elegance paired with sexiness that's the hallmark of this magic appellation." (12/2018) 92-94 points Robert Pa ...

2017 Ferraton Père et Fils "L'Eglantine" Cote-Rotie (Pre-Arrival)

94-97 points Jeb Dunnuck: "I loved the 2017 Côte Rôtie L’Eglantine (100% Syrah, destemmed and aging in 15% new oak), a quintessential effort from these magical hillsides. Black raspberries, spring flowers, crushed rocks, violets, and incense notes all emerge from this medium to full-bodied, elegant, seamless effort that just glides over the palate. It's a 'wow' wine that readers should snatch up. As I’ve written in this report numerous times, the 2017s from Côte Rôtie are brilliant. " (12/2018) 91-93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Ferraton's 20 ...
