2012 Château de Montfaucon "Vin de Monsieur Le Baron de Montfaucon" Vin de Pays du Gard

91 points Wine Spectator: "Dark and slightly gutsy, but still alluring, with lots of smoldering charcoal and roasted alder notes framing a core of dark plum, fig and blackberry paste flavors. Offers a thick coat of tobacco and fresh humus on the finish, revealing a light echo of bay at the very end. Distinctive. Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault, Carignan, Counoise, Mourvèdre, Viognier and Clairette. (JM)" (11/2016) 90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Vin de Mr le Baron is the current release, as there was none made in 2013–2015. This unique win ...

2012 Château de Montfaucon Côtes du Rhône (1.5L)

Just across the Rhône river from the esteemed vineyards of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, this 88-acre estate is owned and operated by Rodolphe de Pins, a UC Davis graduate and former member of the winemaking staff at Domaine du Vieux Telegraphe. Montfaucon crafts their Côtes du Rhône to express the intense fruit characteristics of the appellation, blending to achieve harmony and balance.

2012 Louis Barruol "La Boisselée" Côte-Rôtie

90 points Wine Spectator: "Solid, with green olive, briar and bay notes studding a core of steeped black cherry and blackberry fruit. A briary feel gives the finish a grippy edge. Drink now through 2021. 198 cases imported. (JM, WEb Only-2015)"

2012 Domaine de la Jaufrette Côtes-du-Rhone (Previously $25)

When first tasting the wines of Domaine de la Jaufrette, the name López de Heredia sprang to mind. That famous Rioja producer is known for its late-release and complex reds that are subtle, old school and long lived. Jaufrette can be seen as the Rhône equivalent. Jaufrette is run by Frédéric Chastan, the third generation winemaker to oversee this project. The winery sits just outside the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation but has holdings in Vacqueyras, Gigondas and Côtes-du-Rhône. All the grapes are hand harvested and hand sorted, and the reds are fermente ...

2012 Le Clos du Caillou "La Réserve" Châteauneuf-du-Pape

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Châteauneuf du Pape Reserve le Clos du Caillou is a classic example of this cuvee. Made from 60% Grenache and 40% Mourvedre, aged all in demi-muid, it offers ample dark fruits, chocolate, bouquet garni and licorice in its full-bodied, supple, forward and elegantly styled profile. As with all of the 2012s here, the tannin is wonderfully ripe, the wine has solid concentration and everything is perfectly balanced. While it’s hard to resist already, it will be better with short-term cellaring and have 15+ ye ...

2012 M. Chapoutier "Coteaux du Chery" Condrieu

96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I considered rating Chapoutier's 2012 Condrieu Coteaux du Chery even higher, and it certainly stands toe-to-toe with Vernay's, Guigal's and Perret's top cuvees. Perfumed, floral and classic, with lots of apricot, tangerine, orange blossom and floral qualities, this beauty has full-bodied richness and texture, yet stays pure, elegant and seamless. It's a heavenly Condrieu to drink over the coming 3-4 years. (JD)" (12/2014) 93 points Vinous: "(no new oak and no malo): Green-tinged yellow. A powerful, exotically p ...

2012 Chapelle St. Theodoric "La Guigasse" Châteauneuf-du-Pape

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Possessing more depth and richness (as well as a darker color) than the Le Grand Pin, the 2012 Châteauneuf du Pape la Guigasse boast fabulous Grenache fruit, spice, garrigue and dried-earth-like aromas and flavors. Medium to full-bodied, ripe and textured, it builds beautifully on the palate with fine tannin, excellent mid-palate depth and terrific length. It will have 10-15 years of longevity. (JD)" (10/2014) 94 points Vinous: "Vivid ruby-red. A heady, exotically perfumed bouquet offers scents of ripe red frui ...

2012 Roger Sabon "Secret de Sabon" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (Previously $120)

96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The top wine of the estate is the 2012 Châteauneuf du Pape le Secret de Sabon, and the inky-colored 2012 is a brilliant effort. I don’t think it hits the heights of the 2010, 2007 or 2001, but it’s still a singular expression of Grenache that could come from nowhere else, and is distinctly different from the three prior Châteauneufs. Possessing a sweet nose of ripe raspberries, kirsch, garrigue and licorice, this beauty hits the palate with full-bodied richness, tons of glycerol and texture, sweet tannin and mode ...

2012 Pallieres "Les Terrasse du Diable" Gigondas (1.5L)
Bid on this 6-magnum lot of 2012 Pallieres "Les Terrasse du Diable" Gigondas (1.5L) (92VN, 91RP). Vinous: "Dark ruby. Pungent aromas of dark berries and cherry pit, with complicating suggestions of garrigue and licorice. Fleshy and smooth on the palate, offering pliant dark berry and bitter cherry flavors sharpened by zesty acidity. Quite rich but lively as well. Finishes with gentle tannic grip and lingering spiciness, the dark berry element repeating emphatically. (JR)" (05/2015)
