2014 Domaine Heresztyn-Mazzini Chambolle-Musigny

87-90 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Once again there is a subtle application of wood on the spicy nose that consists mainly of essence of black cherry and floral scents. The mouth feel of the supple middle weight flavors is quite fine though they tighten up considerably on the stony and saline-inflected finale." (01/2016)

2017 Domaine Henri Boillot Bonnes Mares Grand Cru

95 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "(from Chambolle fruit). Here too the nose is quite restrained with its admirably pure aromas of red cherry, dark currant, spice and earth along with notes of violet and lavender. I very much like the sense of underlying tension to the succulent, indeed even juicy, medium weight plus flavors that exude a subtle salinity on the tautly muscular and firm finish that flashes just a hint of youthful austerity. This isn’t quite as complex as the Chambertin but it’s close and it may well close the gap over time as this is al ...

2016 Domaine Jean Tardy Chambolle-Musigny "Les Athets"

Allen Meadows - Burghound: " A fresh, cool and relatively restrained yet airy array of dark cherry, earth and soft spice aromas. There is excellent punch and mid-palate density to the tautly muscular but generously proportioned medium-bodied flavors that deliver fine length on the slightly rustic and lingering finish where a hint of bitter cherry pit appears. This well-made wine is almost always firmly structured and the 2016 version is no exception. *Outstanding*" (01/2019) Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2016 Chambolle Musigny les Artets will hav ...

2012 Joseph Drouhin Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru

90-93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A gentle application of wood sets off the fresh, ripe and refined aromas of various red berries, anise, clove and sandalwood. There is a velvety and highly seductive mouth feel to the beautifully textured medium weight flavors that display plenty of minerality on the lush yet well-detailed finish that is firm and mildly austere but not hard. This should amply reward up to a decade of cellaring." (04/2014) 92 points Vinous: "Bright red cherries, rose petals and sweet spices flow across the palate in the 2012 Cham ...

2011 Domaine Joseph Drouhin Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "Les Amoureuses"

91-94 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Medium red with ruby highlights. Very fresh, highly aromatic nose combines blackberry, black cherry, violet and crushed rock. Juicy and tightly wound on first taste but essentially creamy in the middle palate, displaying lovely black fruit and floral perfume. Very fine-grained and long, finishing with firm tannins, well-integrated acidity and resounding savory and mineral qualities. Just a tad warm today at 13.5% alcohol but this should turn out very well. (ST)" (02/2013) 92 points Allen Meadows ...

2016 Domaine Robert Groffier Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "Les Sentiers"

95 points Wine Spectator: "Enticing and complex aromas and flavors of wild berry, cherry, rose, sandalwood are married to a firm structure. The overall impression is one of harmony and finesse, with a lingering aftertaste. Best from 2022 through 2042. " (12/2018) 92 points Vinous: "The 2016 Chambolle Musigny 1er Cru Les Sentiers was touched by the frost and the old vines here suffered according to Nicolas Groffier. Due to depleted quantities it is 100% whole bunch fruit matured in one-third new oak. It has a lifted bouquet with blackberry, black cherry ...

2016 Domaine Robert Groffier Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "Haut Doix"

93 points Vinous: "The 2016 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Hauts-Doix, one-third whole bunch and new oak, was not touched by the frost according to Nicolas Groffier. It has a very fragrant, almost Vosne-like bouquet that is beautifully defined and disarmingly pure. The palate is very well balanced with fine tannin, a succinct line of acidity, extremely pure like the aromatics with a silky smooth finish that is utterly seductive and as elegant as you will find this vineyard. Superb. Tasted at the Domaine.(NM)" (03/2019) 90 points Wine Spectator: "Taut an ...

2017 Domaine Hudelot-Noëlat Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "Les Charmes" (1.5L)

94 points Decanter: "Les Charmes largely escaped the frost in 2016 so there was no need to reduce the crop in 2017. This comes from two parcels of 40 and 70-year-old vines which make up a total of 0.25ha. There’s a hint of good reduction on the nose which leads you into a palate that's crunchy, chalky and refreshing, unfurling flavours of raspberry and pomegranate supported by polished tannins. Drinking Window 2022 - 2028. (TA) " (10/2018) 92-93 points John Gilman: "Like the Petits Vougeots, the 2017 Chambolle 'Charmes' still had a touch of gas remai ...

2016 Domaine Hudelot-Noellat Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "Les Charmes"

91-93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "An ultra-fresh nose exhibits a lovely and airy array of essence of red cherry, cranberry and lavender. The cool, pure and equally fresh medium weight flavors possess terrific vibrancy along with first-rate delineation on the mineral-inflected, clean and driving finish. This is excellent and a wine that should age very well as the balance is impeccable. *Outstanding*" (01/2018) 92 points John Gilman: "The 2016 Chambolle “Charmes” is very, very fine, with lovely soil signature evident already on both the nose and ...

2017 Domaine Hudelot-Noëllat Chambolle-Musigny

92 points Decanter: "Charles van Canneyt uses fruit from 11 different parcels in his textbook village Chambolle. This is a Pinot drinker's Pinot, all scented and refined, with an easy-drinking summer berry sweetness with tangy acidity and a patina of 15% new wood. Hard to keep your hands off it. (TA)" (10/2018) 90 points John Gilman: "The 2017 Chambolle AC from Domaine Hudelot was showing very nicely out of barrel. The nose is pure and very enticing, offering up scents of plums, black cherries, a fine base of soil, gamebird and a floral topnote of viol ...

2017 Domaine Coquard Loison Fleurot Chambolle-Musigny

John Gilman: "The Chambolle AC bottling from Domaine Coquard Loison Fleurot hails all from the climat of les Gamaires, which lies on the Morey border just below la Bussière. The vines are a mix of 1955 and 1985 plantations and the 2017 version was showing nicely at the time of my visit, offering up a fine bouquet of sappy red and black cherries, raw cocoa, gamebird, a nice base of soil and a touch of spicy oak. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, focused and has a lovely core, with fine attendant soil signature, ripe, moderate tannins and fine balance ...

2016 Domaine Fourrier Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "Les Gruenchers" Vieilles Vignes (Previously $300)

89-92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "(from .29 ha parcel planted in 1928). An expressive nose isn’t quite as elegant but the rose petal, violet, lavender and dark berry aromas offer slightly better complexity. There is a refined mid-palate mouthfeel to the tautly muscular medium weight flavors that contrast somewhat with the firm, serious and mildly austere finish that flirts with rusticity. This too should benefit from at least a few years of bottle age to round out. 2024+" (01/2018) 89-92 points Vinous: "(just three barrels produced): Healthy bri ...

2015 Domaine Hubert Lignier Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "Les Baudes" (Pre-Arrival)

93 points John Gilman: "As one would expect, the 2015 les Baudes has a bit more black fruit to it this year than the Chabiots, but this wine too is all in finesse and purity. The bouquet is very transparent and pure, offering up scents of red and black cherries, cocoa, violets, a lovely base of soil, gamebird and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very sappy at the core, with lovely soil signature, suave, seamless tannins and a very long, vibrant and beautifully balanced finish. Another stellar Chambolle! (Drink between 2025-20 ...

1983 Joseph Drouhin Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "Les Amoureuses"
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1983 Joseph Drouhin Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "Les Amoureuses". Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted at the Chambolle Amoureuses vertical in London, it has been some 25 years since Robert Parker last reviewed the 1983 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru les Amoureuses from Drouhin, noting that the wine underwent an intense filtration. Given that this was not a great Burgundy vintage, this wine has actually matured well. It has a light soy-tinged bouquet with some volatile acidity lending a bit of warmth. The palate is medium-bodied and pleasantly fresh and vital considering its age, nothing complex but with a delicate spicy finish. I would not leave this too much longer, but well kept bottles will give pleasure. (NM)" (03/2016)

Bid on this bottle of 2002 Domaine J-F Mugnier Musigny Grand Cru (97ST, 96RP, 95BH, 95VN, 95WS, 93JG). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Medium red. Immediately spectacular aromas of raspberry, baked bread and white truffle. Silky, thick and highly concentrated; densely packed, sappy and wonderfully sweet but seemed to go into a shell after five minutes in the glass. Finishes with a savory note of olive, almost invisible tannins and explosive length. A great showing today, although I can easily imagine this wine continuing to gain in aromatic precision and lift for another ten years. (ST)" (02/2016)

1992 Domaine Bertheau Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1992 Domaine Bertheau Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru. David Schildknecht writes: "Pierre and Francois Bertheau render textbook Chambolle, which means that pinotphiles who crave extroverted richness or overt sex appeal may find them less compelling than I do...Interestingly, although only modestly saturated in color, all of Bertheau’s wines have that mysterious blackish hint at the rim that many old-timers will tell you is a distinctive mark of Pinot. The Chambolle and Chambolle 1er Cru are rotated out of their largely used barriques after the first year and rest for 3-4 months in large traditional fuders. All of the wines are bottled (unfiltered) at the same time..."

1980 Domaine Comte de Vogüé Musigny Grand Cru Vieilles Vignes
Bid on this bottle of 1980 Domaine Comte de Vogüé Musigny Grand Cru Vieilles Vignes (93BH, 92JG). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Not surprisingly 30 years later, this is much, much fresher in magnum, in fact so much so that it almost seems like a completely different wine. Bricked through. An elegant and wonderfully spicy nose offers up plenty of sous-bois, earth, dried rose petal and a hint of minerality that continues onto the delicious, focused and still relatively concentrated flavors that possess both style and grace before culminating in a refined, delicious and lingering finish. Like most '80s today, this is not a big or even especially powerful effort but the sense of underlying harmony and overall balance is impeccable." (11/2009)

A bit less explosive and more backward today than the Amoureuses but also offers a nearly confectionery, sappy sweetness, with superripe flavors of briary black fruits, licorice and pepper.
