2015 Giuseppe Cortese "Rabaja" Barbaresco

95 points James Suckling: "Wow. What a nose of pure blueberries, rose petals, lavender, crushed minerals, elderflower and so much vivid orange and candied citrus peel. Full body, electric acidity, firm and wonderfully polished tannins and a long, mineral finish. Drink in 2021." (07/2018) 95 points Wine Enthusiast: "This opens with aromas of ripe berry, crushed herb, scorched soil and dark culinary spice. Mirroring the nose, the firm full-bodied palate evokes juicy Marasca cherry, black raspberry, star anise and clove. Taut, tightly knit and noble tanni ...

2016 Musso "Pora" Barbaresco

97 points Decanter: "Complex and invigorating raspberry, mint and liquorice nose. Fresh, silky attack with polished tannins, concentration and great depth of fruit. Structured, spicy, complex and long, this is outstanding and will age well. (SB)" (01/2019) 97 points Wine Enthusiast: "Editor's Choice: This has a lovely, alluring nose that evokes rose, iris, woodland berry, new leather and cake spice along with a whiff of camphor. 2015 Rizzi Barbaresco

94 points James Suckling: "A beautiful Barbaresco with crushed lavender, citrus, violets and nutmeg. There’s a very serious tannin backbone behind this and the fruit/acidity tension makes the whole, compact package very endearing. Full body, pinpoint acidity and a fine, elegant finish. Drink in 2022." (08/2018) 93 points Wine Enthusiast: "Wild berry, fragrant blue flower, tilled soil and ground spice aromas propel out of the glass. Structured but understated and elegant, the focused palate delivers mature cherry, star anise and a tobacco note alongside ...

2016 La Ca' Nova "Montestefano" Barbaresco (Pre-Arrival)

97 points Wine Enthusiast: "Cellar Selection: Forest floor, red berry, leather and pipe tobacco aromas are front and center. The intense, full-bodied palate offers impressive structure and finesse, delivering succulent Marasca cherry, cinnamon, star anise and a hint of hazelnut alongside assertive but noble tannins and vibrant acidity. It already shows focus and depth, but give it time to fully bloom. K.O. " (09/2019) 93-96 points Vinous: "Another super-promising, embryonic wine, the 2016 Barbaresco Montestefano is powerful, dark and explosive in the g ...

Chewy tannins provide the framework while a note of star anise closes the finish. (KO)" (10/2016) 90 points James Suckling: "This shows delicate aromas of rosemary with red licorice and dried berries. This is delicate and light-bodied with almost no tannins, good freshness and a nice, fruity finish. Really enjoyable." (11/2016)

2015 Rizzi "Pajore" Barbaresco

Juicy and elegantly structured, the savory focused palate doles out ripe Marasca cherry, black raspberry, licorice and a hint of tobacco. Taut polished tannins provide the framework while fresh acidity lends balance. Drink 2022–2035. (KO)" (02/2019) 93 points James Suckling: "The aromas of lavender, bay leaf, violets and citrus suggest, from the outset, that this is a serious wine. 2015 Guido Rivella "Fausoni" Barbaresco

92 points Vinous: "Rivella's 2015 Barbaresco Fausoni offers terrific depth and nuance, but in the understated style that is typical of the 2015s here. Sweet tobacco, dried cherry, anise, mint, orange peel and exotic spice all fill out in this very pretty and expressive Barbaresco. The Fausoni is the most expressive of the 2015s in this lineup. The typically firm Fausoni tannins need time to soften a bit, but the 2015 will likely always be somewhat edgy, as Barbarescos from this site tend to be. (AG)" (10/2018)

2015 La Ca' Nova "Montefico Vigna Bric Mentina" Barbaresco

93 points Vinous: "The 2015 Barbaresco Montefico Vigna Bric Mentina is powerful, but not austere as it can be. Readers will find an earthy, savory Barbaresco with tons of old-school tannin and plenty of personality. The warm vintage has made the Montefico a bit more friendly in the early going than is typically the case. Rose petal, lavender and chalk notes all develop with time. Beams of Montefico tannin give the wine its energy and overall shape. Drink 2020-2035. (AG)" (10/2018)

2014 Silvia Rivella "Montestefano" Barbaresco

94 points Vinous: "The 2014 Barbaresco Montestefano is a striking wine. Bdlood orange, rosewater, mint, kirsch and exotic spice notes abound in a pliant, deeply expressive Barbaresco. Hints of French oak add nuance without overpowering the wine. Translucent, detailed and finessed, the Montestefano is a winner. The track record here is short, but the 2014 Barbaresco Montestefano is Silvia Rivella's most complete Barbaresco to date. (AG)" (10/2017)

Boasting ripe fruit and energy, the polished, structured palate doles out juicy red cherry, crushed raspberry, star anise and white pepper. Firm refined tannins and fresh acidity provide an age-worthy structure. Savory and structured, the palate presents succulent red cherry, raspberry compote, licorice and baking spice accompanied by firm fine-grained tannins. It's well balanced, with fresh acidity. 2016 La Ca' Nova Barbaresco (Pre-Arrival)

95 points Wine Enthusiast: "Cellar Selection: Aromas of game, new leather, humid forest floor and ripe berry mingle with whiffs suggesting cake spice and violet. The juicy, earthy palate is savory and loaded with personality, doling out fleshy Marasca cherry, crushed raspberry, cinnamon and a salty mineral note. Tightly woven but polished tannins and fresh acidity provide the framework, while a licorice note lingers on the close. 2016 Gaja Barbaresco (Pre-Arrival)

96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I tasted this wine over two sittings, one at the winery and one at my home office a few weeks later. Although I can't claim any extraordinary differences between the two sessions, I noticed a few minimal shifts that are essential to understanding the wine's future aging ability. The 2016 Barbaresco starts off slow at first, showing a small margin of aromatic evolution in the glass. But come back two hours later, and you can almost hear the soft sounds of the symphony playing just below the surface. The 2016 vinta ...

2015 La Ca' Nova Barbaresco

91 points Vinous: "La Ca' Nova's 2015 Barbaresco is wonderfully open-knit and inviting. Sweet red cherry, kirsch, mint, spice and white pepper make a strong opening statement. The 2015 is a very pretty, easygoing wine. In other words, exactly what an entry-level Barbaresco should be. The ripeness of the year comes through in the wine's racy personality and slightly candied profile. There is so much to like, including the wine's undeniable appeal. The straight Barbaresco is a blend of fruit from Montefico, Montestefano, Ovello and Cole. (AG)" (10/2018) ...

2015 Guido Rivella "Montestefano" Barbaresco

91 points Vinous: "The flagship 2015 Barbaresco Montestefano is powerful, dense and also closed in on itself. Then again, that is Montestefano. It will be interesting to follow the 2015 and see if it emerges from its current shut-down stage. To be sure, these wines have often been much showier than they are today. Smoke, cured meats, incense, licorice and tobacco add the closing shades of nuance. (AG) 91+" (10/2018) Jancis Robinson: "Barbaresco. Tasted blind. Mid ruby with orange tinges. 2015 Produttori del Barbaresco Barbaresco

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I tasted this wine after bottling but before its commercial release. The 2015 Barbaresco will hit the market on September 1st. It was scheduled to be released in October, but because Produttori del Barbaresco is already out of stock of the 2014 Barbaresco, they decided to move this release up and shorten waiting times. I mention that because you definitely don't want to pop the cork too early. The 2015 vintage opens to a visibly darker color and thicker concentration compared to recent past vintages. Next to the ...

2016 La Ca' Nova "Montefico Vigna Bric Mentina" Barbaresco (Pre-Arrival)

93-96 points Vinous: "La Ca' Nova's 2016 Barbaresco Montefico Vigna Bric Mentina is magnificent. All the elements are in the right place. Vertical construction and intense aromatic depth give the Montefico much of its unique feel. Amazingly, there is virtually no perception of tannin today, although I suspect I may have caught the wine at a particularly expressive stage. No matter, the 2016 Montefico has a very bright future. I can hardly wait to taste it from bottle. (AG)" (10/2018)

2015 La Ca' Nova "Montestefano" Barbaresco

94 points Vinous: "The 2015 Barbaresco Montestefano fleshes out in all dimensions, as it does in all the best years. Warm, rich and inviting, the 2015 is a wine of pure and total pleasure. Black cherry, plum, sage, lavender, menthol, licorice and spice take on exotic shades of expression. All things considered, the 2015 falls just a bit short of being thrilling. In exchange, though, readers will find a Barbaresco that will drink well with minimal cellaring. What a gorgeous wine this is. (AG)" (10/2018)

2015 Castello di Verduno Barbaresco

94 points Vinous: "Castello di Verduno's 2015 Barbaresco is a potent wine. A swath of tannins enshrouds this powerful, structured Barbaresco. Crushed flowers, sweet tobacco, rose petal, dried cherry and mint are all suggestive of a wine that is a touch forward, and yet there is so much fruit and tannin here to make me think the 2015 will drink well for a number of years. All the fruit from Produttori del Barbaresco's single-vineyard wines are packed into this one base Barbaresco. The wine is sharp and focused and, although it does not have the soft generosity of 2009 or 2011, this is a wine of enormous elegance. I did not find the mouthfeel to be exceedingly thin. The color is the shade of translucent violet that the most age-worthy, complex Nebbiolos show in their youth.
