2009 Alexandre Le Brun "Cuvée Fascination" Brut Blanc de Blancs Champagne (1.5L)

Alexandre Le Brun is the smallest producer that we import, or even carry from Champagne at just 7.5 acres. He only makes wine from half of the grapes he brings in, selling the rest off to negociants--his production is just one thousand cases a year total. This tiny scale allows Alex to do nearly everything himself and this hands-on approach shows through in the finished product. He only uses his own estate fruit for his Champagne, and although small, it is diverse. He farms 22 plots in eight different villages. Among these are the oldest vines that I hav ...

2009 Hanzell Sonoma Valley Chardonnay

95 points Wine Enthusiast: "*Top 100 Cellar Selections of 2012* A tremendous Chardonnay. As always, the winery’s ’09 is bone dry, crisply acidic and minerally. You might call it austere at this point, with its tart finish of grapefruit. But a great Hanzell Chardonnay will improve for at least a decade, possible two, and this is a great Hanzell Chardonnay. The score reflects what the wine likely will be approximately eight years down the road." (02/2012) 91 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Pale bright yellow. Austere aromas of grapefr ...

2009 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay

98 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Light gold in color, with an extraordinary nose of poached pears, citrus honey and a touch of orange rind, the 2009 Chardonnay Marcassin Vineyard has beautiful fruit, a full-bodied mouthfeel, penetrating acids and an underlying minerality and richness. The finish goes on for a good 40-45 seconds. This is sensational Chardonnay and very much in keeping with this vineyard. (RP)" (08/2015) 97 points Wine Spectator: "Full-blown, mature Chardonnay at its peak, layered and complex, unfolding with anise, smoky oak, ro ...

2009 Peter Michael "Cuvée Indigène" Knights Valley Chardonnay (bin soiled or nicked label)

95 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Greenish gold. Pungent aromas of dried pear, lemon pith, saffron and smoky lees, with slow-building minerality and a touch of peat. Densely packed but energetic, offering lively orchard and citrus fruit flavors and an exotic floral quality. The peaty note resonates strongly on the finish, which hangs on with impressive tenacity. For all its power, this Chardonnay conveys a sense of weightlessness. (ST)" (06/2011) 94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Chardonnay Cuvee Indigene is a tot ...

2009 Domaine Arnaud Ente Meursault "Les Petits Charrons"
Bid on this bottle of 2009 Domaine Arnaud Ente Meursault "Les Petits Charrons" (93JG, (89-92BH), 91ST, 90VN). John Gilman: "Petits Charrons is one of the warmer microclimates in Meursault and the 2009 version from Arnaud Ente is the ripest wine in the cellar this year, weighing in at 13.3 percent alcohol. But the wine is most emphatically not overripe by any stretch of the imagination, just classic Meursault. The very lovely nose offers up scents of apple, oranges, a bit of passion fruit, hazelnuts, iodine, lovely minerality and citrus zest. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and a touch broader on the attack than the Clos des Ambres, with a fine core, impeccable focus and balance and great backend cut and minerality. Just a stellar bottle. Drink between 2015-2035." (12/2010)

2009 Rhys "Alpine Vineyard" Santa Cruz Mountains Chardonnay
Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2009 Rhys "Alpine Vineyard" Santa Cruz Mountains Chardonnay (94ST, 93JG, 93RP). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Vivid yellow. Musky aromas of chamomile, pear skin, anise and iodine, with suave floral and gingerbread notes emerging with aeration. Juicy and broad on entry, then a bit tighter in the middle, offering densely packed orchard fruit flavors and notes of smoke and honeysuckle. More powerful than the Horseshoe but no less animated. This complex and tactile chardonnay boasts an intriguing interplay of ripe fruit and energetic spices. Finishes on a gently smoky note, with excellent persistence. (ST)" (06/2011)

2009 Domaine Arnaud Ente Meursault "Clos de Ambres"
Bid on this bottle of 2009 Domaine Arnaud Ente Meursault "Clos de Ambres" (93JG, (89-91BH), 91RP, 91ST, 91VN). John Gilman: "The 2009 Clos des Ambres is one of the few 2009s that I tasted on this trip which showed off the same crystalline profile that was evident in so many top white wines in the 2008 vintage. The very complex bouquet is excellent, as it offers up scents of apple, lemon, orange, great minerality, a touch of iodine, hints of the nuttiness to come, vanillin oak and a topnote of apple blossoms. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, crisp and very minerally on the backend, with a fine core, snappy acids and great focus and cut on the finish. Just a beautiful bottle of Meursault. (Drink between 2014-2035)" (12/2010)

2009 Rhys "Horseshoe Vineyard" Santa Cruz Mountains Chardonnay
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Rhys "Horseshoe Vineyard" Santa Cruz Mountains Chardonnay (94ST, 93JG, 92RP, 90WS). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright yellow. Lively, assertive aromas of orange zest, jasmine, mint, iodine and smoky minerals. Pure and incisive, with energetic, mineral-accented citrus and green apple flavors that gain weight with air. Finishes with excellent clarity and spicy cut, strongly echoing the orange and iodine notes. I suspect this vivacious wine will put on weight with a few more years of bottle age. (ST)" (06/2011)

2009 Marcassin "Three Sisters Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Marcassin "Three Sisters Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay (94RP, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Chardonnay Three Sisters comes from volcanic and sedimentary, fragmented soils. It exhibits the classic Old Wente clone nose of white peaches, damp stones, hints of apricot and brioche, and caramelized citrus. Medium to full-bodied and pure with underlying minerality and a nice layered mouthfeel, it should drink well for a decade. (RP)" (12/2013)

2009 Domaine Arnaud Ente Meursault “La Sève de Clos”
Bid on this bottle of 2009 Domaine Arnaud Ente Meursault “La Sève de Clos” ((90-93BH), 93ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "In contrast to the multitude of reduced wines in the range, this sports an expressive and classic Meursault nose of citrus, pear, hazelnut and elegant floral aromas that complement to perfection the rich, intense and mouth coating flavors that culminate in a palate staining and minerally finish that is almost as persistent as that of the Referts and Goutte d'Or. *Sweet Spot, Outstanding*" (02/2011)

2009 Peter Michael "Point Rouge" Sonoma County Chardonnay
Bid on this bottle of 2009 Peter Michael "Point Rouge" Sonoma County Chardonnay (95ST, 94RP). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Hazy gold. High-pitched aromas of citrus zest, white flowers and quince, with deeper notes of toasty lees and honey adding power. Densely packed lemon curd and orchard fruit flavors are underscored by a zesty mineral quality and show impressive precision. The minerality dominates the long, chewy, finely etched finish, which leaves a sexy floral note behind. This should age slowly; Nic Morlet told me that he left just one cluster of grapes per Chardonnay shoot in 2009 and that almost no sulfur was used to make this wine. (ST)" (06/2011)
