2007 Thiénot "Black Ball" Blanc de Blancs Brut Champagne (Previously $120)

Absolutely incredible opportunity on this creamy, supple blanc de blancs that still has great focus and precision and superior, long, mineral finish. Like all of the Thienot vintage wines, this bottling is entirely estate grown from the family's nearly seventy acres of vines. (Gary Westby, K&L Champagne buyer) From the winery: "In 1985 Alain Thiénot launched his eponymous Champagne House, driven by his experience as a courtier and close-knit relationships with Champagne growers. This was quite a challenge in a sector where the greatest names began their ...

2007 Salon Blanc de Blancs Brut Champagne

99 points Wine Enthusiast: "This legendary Champagne, only produced in exceptional years, comes from the village of Le Mesnil in the Côte des Blancs. It is made from 100% Chardonnay and aged for many years before release. Its minerality, concentration and beautiful fruit are still astonishingly young and deserve further aging. Drink from 2020. *Cellar Selection* (RV)" (12/2018) 97 points James Suckling: " Such an impressive wine for the detail in every respect. The nose delivers fresh lemon and grapefruit peel, together with white, stony minerals and ...

2007 Taittinger "Comtes de Champagne" Brut Blanc de Blancs Champagne

98 points James Suckling: "This is a step up from the linear and fresh 2006. It shows subtle depth and power with a dense block of vivid fruit that's highlighted with lemon zest, green apples and hints of white peaches. Just the right amount of praline and nuts on the nose. Fine and tight bead give the Champagne a luxurious mouthfeel. One for now or the cellar. Drink or hold. " (12/2018) 97 points Wine Enthusiast: "Always one of the great Champagnes, this comes from a year that is generally regarded as good but not great. And yet, with this Champagne i ...

2007 Domaine Arnaud Ente Meursault "La Sève du Clos"
Bid on this bottle of 2007 Domaine Arnaud Ente Meursault "La Sève du Clos" ((90-92BH), 92RP, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There are five barrels this year of Ente’s 2007 Meursault Le Seve du Clos from ancient vines in the Ormeau, as compared with just three in 2006. Musky, narcissus-like florality and ocean breeze salinity and alkalinity in the nose are joined by lemon, yellow plum, white peach, and high-toned herbal essences on a persistently invigorating and mouth-wateringly saline palate, virtually fat-free -- though boasting a slick of glycerin -- and athletic in its leanness and energy. The mineral matter here seems to stick to my teeth, not to mention my gums, along with toasty and faintly bitter notes of nuts and peach kernel. Ethereal floral and herbal distillates and an almost electric tingling of citrus add allure to the wine's formidable, penetrating finish. (DS)" (12/2009)

2007 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay
Bid on this bottle of 2007 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay (99RP, 95WS, 94DC). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A staggering Chardonnay that’s still an infant, the light yellow/green/gold 2007 offers up notes of unbuttered popcorn, orange liqueur, lemon butter, quince and crushed rocks. It possesses terrific underlying acidity, a full-bodied mouthfeel and a youthfulness and freshness that suggest this wine has two decades of life ahead of it. This majestic Chardonnay seems more French than Californian, but again, this reflects the significance of the labor of these two overachieving, push-the-envelope visionaries. What California viticulture and high-class, minimalist winemaking can achieve is exhibited in bold fashion by this 2007. It will hit its prime in 5-7 years, and appears to be a replay of the 2002 stylistically as well as for its overall potential. (RP) 99+" (06/2012)

2007 Domaine Arnaud Ente Meursault "Clos de Ambres"
Bid on this bottle of 2007 Domaine Arnaud Ente Meursault "Clos de Ambres" (93JG, (89-91BH), 90RP, 90ST, 90VN). John Gilman: "The Clos des Ambres bottling in ’07 takes the beautiful depth and precision of the Meursault village and adds more dimension, more precision and a crystalline glaze over both the fruit and the soil expressions and produces one of the most beautiful young Meursaults I have had the pleasure to taste. The bouquet is a deep, pure and very classic expression of Meursault, as it delivers a stunning blend of apples, orange, lemon oil, brilliantly complex minerality and a pungent topnote of citrus blossoms. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, rock solid at the core and very tensile, with brilliant focus and cut, just perfect balance and a very long, quite reserved and crystalline finish. A beautiful bottle of Meursault." (01/2009)

2007 Domaine Long Depaquit (Albert Bichot) Chablis Grand Cru "Blanchots"
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2007 Domaine Long Depaquit (Albert Bichot) Chablis Grand Cru "Blanchots" (93BH, 93WE, 93WS, 91RP, 91ST, 90W&S). Wine Enthusiast: "There is a fine steely, mineral character to the wine that parallels the ripe yellow fruit, toast and quince jelly flavors. The ensemble is rich, but maintains the true cool-climate character of Chablis. *Editors' Choice* (RV)" (07/2010)

2007 Domaine Vincent Dauvissat Chablis Grand Cru "Les Clos"
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Domaine Vincent Dauvissat Chablis Grand Cru "Les Clos" (96ST, 95RP, 95WS, 94BH). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright yellow. Subtly complex nose melds Asian pear, violet, lavender, ginger, iodine and powdered stone. Tactile and dense on entry, then creamy in the middle, conveying an impression of great volume without weight. This extremely backward, youthfully understated Clos firms up dramatically on the back end, finishing with palate-saturating citrus and talc flavors that refuse to fade. One of the longest Chablis bottlings I tasted for this issue, this truly transcends Chardonnay. 96+ points. (ST)" (07/2009)
