2009 Clos du Mont Olivet "Cuvée du Papet" Châteauneuf-du-Pape

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Needing more patience, the 2009 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee du Papet (75% Grenache, 15% Mourvedre and the balance Syrah aged in foudre) comes from the estate’s oldest vines planted in such famous sites as Mont Olivet and Bois Dauphin. Usually about 1,000 cases are produced and the 2009, which tops the scales at 15.5% alcohol, is brilliant. A gorgeously aromatic bouquet of dark fruits, kirsch, underbrush, raspberries, licorice, spice box and pepper soars from the glass of this dark ruby/purple-tinged wine. Opulent a ...

2009 Domaine Calendal Côtes du Rhône-Villages Plan de Dieu (1.5L) (Previously $50)

92 points Jeb Dunnuck: "A stunning Côtes du Rhône that shows the best of the vintage, the 2009 Calendal Plan de Dieu, a 50/50 blend of Grenache and Mourvèdre that’s aged all in older wood, delivers an intense, perfumed array of black cherry, licorice, underbrush, and flowers on the nose. There’s a sappy richness to the aromas, as well as solid freshness and focus. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, with ripe fruit, a focused, powerful feel, good acidity, and ripe tannin that shines on the long, heady finish, this awesome value needs a decant if drinkin ...

2009 Clos des Papes Châteauneuf-du-Pape (Pre-Arrival)

96 points Wine Spectator: "Sinewy and reserved, with a light dusting of cocoa powder over the tangy damson plum, red licorice and cassis notes. The long, supple finish, with a lovely wafting note of Lapsang souchong tea, is packed with minerality and tight-grained tannins that will need time to fully evolve. One of the more backward 2009s, though this should pick up steam in the cellar. (JM)" (11/2011) 95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Considered by Paul-Vincent to be a hypothetical blend of the '05 and the '07, the 2009 Chateauneuf du Pape was ...

2009 Pierre Usseglio "Cuvée de Mon Aïeul" Châteauneuf-du-Pape

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Another wine that got better and better over the evening was the 2009 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee de Mon Aieul. I've drunk through my fair share of bottles of this over the past few years. It has never shut down and has always shown well. A ripe, forward and sexy wine, it has lots of kirsch, garrigue, exotic spice and floral notes to go with a ripe, concentrated feel on the palate. It certainly has the vintage's Provencal character and is an exuberant, hedonistic Grenache to enjoy over the coming 10-12 years. (JD)" ...

2009 Delas "Chante Perdrix" Cornas

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Cornas Chante Perdrix is all of that, but slightly softer because of the style of the vintage. It is hard to say that any Cornas can be opulent because the tannins are often off the charts, but this 2009 has a voluptuous opening on the palate before the tannins begin to ratchet up. Inky/purple-hued, layered and full-bodied, it offers notes of smoked meats, duck, Chinese black tea, blackberries and licorice. It is an enormously inky, thick wine that needs to be forgotten for 5-6 years and drunk over the f ...

2009 Domaine de la Mordorée "Reine des Bois" Châteauneuf-du-Pape

96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A blockbuster-styled effort, the 2009 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee de La Reine des Bois doesn’t pull any punches and gives up rocking aromas and flavors of black raspberry, cassis, graphite, spice-box, lavender and herbs. Possessing full-bodied richness, sweet tannin and thrilling purity, it can be enjoyed now for its exuberant character, but will also evolve gracefully going forward. (JD)" (08/2014) 95 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2009 Domaine de la Mordorée Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée de la Reine des Bois is a blend o ...

2009 Domaine Grand Veneur "Les Origines" Châteauneuf du Pape

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Chateauneuf du Pape Les Origines (1,500 cases produced) is a blend of 50% Grenache, a whopping 30% Mourvedre and 20% Syrah with the latter two components spending time in new oak barrels. All of the fruit comes from vines that are nearly 70 years of age. A great wine with an opaque ruby/purple color, sensational fruit intensity and notes of graphite, lavender, licorice, lead pencil shavings and subtle smoke, it is full-bodied, rich and powerful with low acidity and sweet, velvety tannins. It should drink ...

2009 Domaine Jamet Côte-Rôtie

97 points Wine Spectator: "A stunner, with captivating damson plum, bitter cherry, blood orange and blackberry fruit all melded together and lined with savory, black olive, rosemary and saucisson sec notes. The finish delivers mouthwatering cut, with an iron frame that should carry this easily for two decades. A distinctive and singular expression of old-school Côte-Rôtie. Best from 2017 through 2030." (11/2013) 96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Possessing more stuffing than the '12 (but maybe not its purity and seamlessness), the 2009 Cote Rot ...

2009 E. Guigal "La Turque" Côte-Rôtie 6-Pack in OWC (Pre-Arrival)

100 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Both the 2010 and the 2009 continue to blow me away every time I taste them, and to me, these represent the pinnacle of Cote Rotie—albeit in very different styles. Every bit as good as the 2010, the 2009 Cote Rotie la Turque is a flamboyant and sexy Cote Rotie that’s loaded with notions of smoked meats, blackberries, blackcurrants, beef blood and espresso roast. Thick, unctuous, hugely concentrated and long, it’s a heavenly wine I guarantee will put a smile on your face anytime over the coming 2-3 decades." (12/2016) 100 points ...

2009 Pierre Usseglio "Reserve des Deux Freres" Châteauneuf-du-Pape 6-Pack (Pre-Arrival)

95 points Vinous: "Bright violet color. Wildly complex scents of black raspberry, cherry compote, sassafras, allspice and licorice. Lush and palate-staining, with noteworthy intensity to its open-knit dark berry, spicecake and floral pastille flavors. Silky tannins come on late and meld smoothly with the deep, sappy fruit, which refuses to let go of the palate. I underestimated this powerful, vibrant wine last year. (JR)" (01/2012) 94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Chateauneuf du Pape Reserve des Deux Freres is probably the softest, mo ...

2009 E. Guigal "Ex-Voto" Hermitage 6-Pack in OWC (Pre-Arrival)

100 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Every bit as phenomenal as the '10, yet in a completely different style, the 2009 Hermitage Ex Voto reveals a saturated inky color as well as layers of plums, black raspberries, candied violets, licorice and crushed rock. More voluptuous and extroverted than the '10, with an undeniably sexy, full-bodied, massively concentrated personality that just begs to be drunk, it will still evolve for decades on its sheer wealth of material. (JD)" (12/2015) 97 points Wine Spectator: "This has a distinctive singed mesquit ...

100 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "...The 2009 Cote Rotie la Mouline (which incorporates a whopping 11% of Viognier) offers an insane bouquet of roasted meats, toast, spice, caramelized meats, coffee bean and deep, concentrated and layered blackberry and cassis-styled fruit. As with the 2010, it has off-the-chart richness, a stacked mid-palate and a gorgeous polish to its tannin. Give it another 3 to 4 years and drink it over the following 2-3 decades. (JD)" (08/2014) 98 points Wine Spectator: "Dense and grippy now, with roasted alder, bittersw ...

2009 Domaine La Barroche "Cuvée Pure" Chateauneuf-du-Pape 6-Pack (Pre-Arrival)

97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Always showing well (which is a trait of the vintage), the 2009 Chateauneuf du Pape Pure is about as sexy as wine gets. Just layered with notions of sweet kirsch liqueur, raspberries, ground pepper, herbes de Provence and licorice, it's a wine I could see rating a few points higher if it wasn't in a retrospective lineup like this. Silky, seamless, full-bodied and perfectly balanced, with fine tannin and a blockbuster finish, drink it anytime over the coming 15 years. (JD)" (09/2015) 96 points Wine Spectator: "D ...
