2010 Massolino "Margheria" Barolo

97 points Wine Enthusiast: "Underbrush, rose, violet, black cherry, balsamic notes, cinnamon, mint, leather and Mediterranean herbs are just some of the sensations that emerge. The juicy fruit is balanced with energy and velvety tannins. It's loaded with energy and finesse, and give it time to develop even more complexity. Drink 2020-2040. *Cellar Selection* (KO)" (10/2014) 96 points Wine Spectator: "This is smoky, with tobacco- and mineral-tinged cherry and strawberry flavors. Quickly gives way to firm, mouthcoating tannins, yet finds equilibrium over ...

The intense flavors are balanced by velvety tannins and fantastic energy. *Cellar Selection* (KO)" (10/2014) 97 points Wine Spectator: "Rich and brooding, this red features black cherry, raspberry, tar, leather and licorice flavors. 2010 Brovia "Villero" Barolo

96 points Vinous: "Brovia's 2010 Barolo Villero wraps around the palate with dark red cherries, plums, spices, menthol, new leather and licorice. Rich, sumptuous and beautifully layered in the glass, the 2010 is firing on all cylinders. Today the Villero is remarkably open, which is unusual for this wine. This early tasting provides a clue of what will develop over the next few years, and that is all hugely positive. Cloves, mocha and black fruit all add gravitas on the finish. Today the Villero seems to bring together the finesse of the Rocche and weigh ...

2010 Elio Grasso "Ginestra Casa Matè" Barolo

97 points Vinous: "Dark red cherries, plums, smoke, tar, menthol and licorice all take shape in the 2010 Barolo Ginestra Vigna Casa Matè. Today the 2010 is painfully young and less expressive than the Gavarini, but equally promising. A generous, resonant wine, the 2010 blossoms in all directions with seemingly endless layers of dark, balsamic-inflected fruit. Today, the Casa Matè is closed and shut down, but it has all the qualities to develop into a spectacular Barolo. The future is bright, especially for readers who can be patient. 2010 Giacamo Conterno ''Monfortino'' Barolo Riserva (1.5L)

100 points James Suckling: "This is a mesmerizing wine with flowers such as violets and roses. Leather undertones with bright red fruits. Peaches and some lemongrass, too. It seems to change all the time in the glass. Full-bodied, tight and complete with ultra-fine, powerful tannins that are just seamless and beautiful. The richness of flavors is incredible. Yet, subtle and reserved. Endless pleasure. Will age forever. Upgraded from two years ago. Better in 2022." (04/2018) 100 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Barolo Riserva Monfortino i ...

2010 Andrea Oberto "Brunate" Barolo

98 points James Suckling: "Wow. Great aromas of plums, cedar, chocolate and spices. Tar too. Full body, soft and round tannins and a long, long finish. Exceptional. Best wine ever from Oberto? Better in 2018." (11/2014) 92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From one of the most consistent (and celebrated) vineyard crus in the appellation, the 2010 Barolo Brunate flaunts a dry, slightly exotic quality with aromas of wet earth, button mushroom, tobacco, cured meat and Asian spice. Its appearance is bold and concentrated and the mouthfeel is similarly ...

2010 Luciano Sandrone "Le Vigne" Barolo

100 points Vinous: "Sandrone's 2010 Barolo Le Vigne is one of the wines of the vintage, hands down. Rich, layered and utterly impeccable, the Le Vigne boasts stunning depth and richness. This is the second year in which Le Vigne includes fruit from Baudana which gives the wine a sense of volume and pure breadth it has never had before. Dried rose petal, tar, mint, wild flowers and cinnamon flow through to the multi-dimensional finish. The 2010 is a blend of fruit from Vignane and Merli, two historic sites for Le Vigne, while Cerretta and Conterni have be ...

2010 Roberto Voerzio Barbera d'Alba Riserva "Vigneto Pozzo dell'Annunziata" (1.5L)

96 points James Suckling: "This is always one of the best Barbera d'Albas. The 2010 Pozzo (notice the change in the name due to changes in Italian appellation laws) shows fabulous density and depth with wet earth, dark berries and loads of mineral character. It's full-bodied with bright and creamy acidity plus a long, long finish. Only in magnums. Fantastic." (11/2014) 95 points Vinous: "The 2010 Barbera d'Alba Pozzo is stunningly beautiful. Violets, lavender, dark cherries, plums, tobacco and menthol all flesh out in an aboslutely impeccable, gracious ...

2010 Vietti "Castiglione" Barolo

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Barolo Castiglione is absolutely lovely upon first impact. It starts off dense, with notes of tar, dried cherry, and plum then adds layers of bright florals and spicy notes. Mineral shadings and smoked meat also appear as distant highlights. The 2010 vintage in particular coats the palate with a firm but subtle grip. The wine already shows great complexity. Drink: 2016-2026. (ML)" (06/2014) 94 points Vinous: "The 2010 Barolo Castiglione is beautiful in the way it brings together the vibrancy of the yea ...

2010 Domenico Clerico "Pajana" Barolo
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2010 Domenico Clerico "Pajana" Barolo (94ST, 94W&S, 93JS, 93RP, 93WS, 90WE). Wine & Spirits: "The 7.5 acres of nebbiolo vines that Domenico Clerico farms in Pajana, a cru in Ginestra, Monforte d’Alba, date to 1965 and 1970. He produces this wine in rotofermenters and ages it in French oak barriques (80 percent new) for 24 to 30 months. So you might expect it to be massive, but you might not expect the underlying energy of the 2010 vintage that drives it, or the delicacy of the bright, violet-scented fruit. While powerful oak tannins dry the mouth, the fruit rejuices it—fresh black fruit touching on anise and truffles. It’s finely integrated and built for long aging." (12/2014)

2010 Domenico Clerico "Ciabot Mentin Ginestra" Barolo
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2010 Domenico Clerico "Ciabot Mentin Ginestra" Barolo (95ST, 94RP, 93WS, 92JS, 90WE). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good full red. Liqueur-like plum and black cherry on the nose. Then fine-grained and classy but tightly wound, showing utterly primary flavors of cherry, red berries and menthol. There's no way into this extremely backward wine today. But it has the racy acidity and excellent clarity for a spectacular evolution in bottle. 95+ (ST)" (12/2013)
