One of New York state's best craft distilleries delivers a masterpiece with a bottled in bond wheated bourbon. Situated on the east shore of Lake Seneca in the heart of the Finger Lakes wine country, McKenzie has always made their whiskies with locally sourced NY grain and dedicated themselves to environmental stewardship. They were a huge hit here at K&L many years ago when they were brand new with baby aged whiskey. Today they're better than ever. By law the bottled in bond is at least 4 years old, but the whiskey here is older than the legal minimum. ...

90 points Wine Spectator: "Still youthfully tight, this brims with tension as the long, minerally spine holds the core of yellow apple, star fruit and white peach flavors together. Shows serious cut and drive on the finish, with a mouthwatering echo of dried fennel seed. Best from 2018 through 2022. *Smart Buys* (JM)" (02/2017)

From the brewery: "We’ve added a new year-round beer to our line up! Meet Rosetta, a traditional Belgian Kriek, blended to perfection by our sister brewery Liefmans, and available now in our regular distribution footprint."
Price: $3.49

Winery notes: "Cabernet Franc (Loire clones) sourced from a 30-year-old vineyard on the East Side of Seneca Lake, planted on gravel, clay & shale. Harvest followed by gentle foot-trodding and a 10-day cold soak prior (partial Carbonic Maceration). 50% Whole Cluster, fermented with a combination of Indigenous Yeasts, Burgundy yeast & Rhone yeast (all separate tanks/ferments) for nearly 2 months in open-top fermenters, 2x daily punch-downs. Moved to old barrique for malolactic fermentation & 8-month elevage, bottled unfined & unfiltered."

91 points Wine Spectator: "Jasmine and mustard seed notes lead the way here, backed by a mix of yellow apple, Mirabelle plum and citrus oil flavors. Shows good intensity through the finish. Drink now through 2022." K&L Notes: Winemaker's Notes: "Our most important wine aims to reveal the true nature of the vintage and to explore the terroir of lower east Seneca Lake. Due to our focus on this narrow 8-mile stretch of slope on the southeast side which includes 13 of our 14 Riesling vineyards, this is our first labeling under the Seneca Lake AVA. In 2017, ...

90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2017 Dry Riesling comes in with seven grams of total sugar, 5.8 of total acidity and 12% alcohol. This is a workhorse wine for Wiemer—6,100 cases produced, a blend of all of the vineyard sites and generally tending to be a third of the winery's total production, more or less. It's why co-owner Fred Merwath considers it the winery's most important bottling, and in this tricky year, the fruit for several single-vineyard sites was declassified to make this better (e.g., Josef Vineyard and Magdalena Vineyard). Pe...

This premixed Spritz is one of the very best to come to market. Made with St. Agrestis' Paradiso Aperitivo and Bianco Italiano wine and carbonated together, this is a well balanced and refreshing Spritz without any of the work or left over prosecco. Each unit is a 2 pack of 200ml bottles.
Price: $12.99

92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2017 Dry Riesling No. 239, made by Kelby Russell at Red Newt, comes in with eight grams of residual sugar, 7.3 of acidity and 12.3% alcohol. The winery says that the goal here is to harvest at an 'unusually high degree of ripeness and then ferment the wine dry,' like a German Spätlese Trocken. Clean and transparent, this is pretty gorgeous. The first claim to fame is that ripeness—it seems surprisingly rich and fruity. It then adds a hint of sugar on the end. I was thinking: 'Whaaaat? Isn't this the Dry Riesl...

St. Agrestis Negroni is a combination of St. Agrestis Inferno Bitter (to be released later in 2018), Greenhook Ginsmith's American Dry Gin and a sweet vermouth developed in house, to best balance this classically bittersweet tipple. Boozy, bitter and fresher than your normal negroni, this is a true Brooklyn tribute to the quintessential Italian classic. St. Agrestis Inferno Bitter is built specifically around the Negroni. Three separate macerations are created (sweet, bitter, citrus), before being combined and rested. Color for the St. Agrestis Negron...

We’re not saying you should worship what’s inside the barrel… but there’s a certain righteousness about a beer made with three types of rye malts and then smoothed out in a blend of rye whiskey and bourbon barrels. The journey spans months, but the results are undeniable—a RIGHTEOUS ale indeed. After years of tinkering with small batch, we went all in on this barrel fleet. Hundreds of Woodforde Reserve Rye barrels from and Widow Jane Bourbon barrels house the precious liquid that makes up Sixpoint’s second ever network wide barrel-aged release. (Producer...

Producer's notes: "Deeply layered, complex, off-dry bittersweet cider. Evolving aromas of powdered sugar, cloves, and espresso mingle with suede leather, cowboy sweat and a bit of glamour which hang off an angular frame. The mid-palate is hefty, with a hint of refreshing bitterness which dissipates into a tropical finish of ripe, sweet-sour pineapple."

"Shadow Work is our new blended mixed culture dark sour brewed in the flemish red/brown style. We blended barrel-aged sour with young brown ale in the traditional manner, and the result is a perfectly balanced delicately tart beer with flavors of caramel, oak, dried dates, and a touch of sweetness. This is a great beer to cellar as it will develop new complexity and character over time." (Brewery Notes)

Distiller's notes: "Based on the secret recipe of four medieval thieves. They were caught stealing from plague victims in Marseille. In exchange for clemency, they revealed their secret concoction. Eve’s most ‘old-world’ cider, produced from bittersweet and bittersharp European cider varieties first grafted onto their trees in 2002. These varieties require late harvesting and slow, natural fermentation to bring out their full complexity. Macerating fruit prior to pressing also increases aromatics and helps with integrating tannin. Bittersweet cider also benefits from oxygen exchange from old oak barrels. (Producer Notes)

"Our vision for our Darling Creek cider is to create a blend out of the ciders of the vintage that has ample tannin, lots of acid and plenty of fruit. Two thirds of our apples were bittersweets, something we have never experienced before. In March, we tasted through our tanks and with the idea behind Darling Creek in our mind, tried to create synergy out of what the season had given us. This year’s version of the Darling Creek is our most tannic yet. It’s a powerful cider that we think will age well and pair beautifully with rich, fatty food in a way tha...

"Camoufleur is our new brett saison. It is step-mashed and brewed with 100% pilsner malt — very old world in execution! Spicy, funky, and laced with noble hop aromas. We blended this saison with just a smidgen of barrel-aged golden sour to achieve the ultimate balance and complexity. Dry hopping with Saphir hops brings extra tangerine and spice notes." (Brewery Notes)

Crisp and focused with aromas of sliced baguette and basil. Canary melon, sea salt and sassafras arise on the palate. Emphatic carbonation carries a finish reminiscent of watermelon rind. Brewed with pilsner malt, raw and malted wheat, flaked and malted oats, and light Munich malt.

"Double Negative pours jet black with burnt orange highlights. A long lasting tan head leaves abundant lacing. Aromas bursting from the glass include coffee, bitter chocolate, caramel, black currant and blueberry. Creamy and viscous on the palate, the flavor initially follows the nose. A pop of smooth bitterness comes after, and then a lingering, roasty finish." (Producer notes)
