2017 Domaine Vincent Dauvissat Chablis Grand Cru "Les Clos "

97 points John Gilman: "The 2017 les Clos from the Dauvissat family, like the la Forest, does not show any out of the ordinary concentration from its frost-limited yields and is again, an utterly classical expression of this great terroir. The wine delivers great complexity and breed in its aromatic constellation of pink grapefruit, lemon, pear, flinty minerality, citrus peel, salty overtones and a topnote of spring flowers. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, pure and racy, with a great core, stunning mineral drive, racy acids and impeccable cu ...

2017 La Chablisiènne Chablis 1er Cru "Montée de Tonnerre"

91-93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Moderate wood stops just short of intruding on the appeal of the otherwise intensely floral nose that is liberally laced with notes of oyster shell, iodine and lemon rind nuances. There is a lovely sense of refinement to the restrained and discreetly mineral-inflected flavors that deliver fine persistence and precision on the saliva-inducing finale. Excellent potential. *Sweet Spot, Outstanding*" (10/2018) 92 points Decanter: "Concentrated lemon; spicy, toasty oak and a brooding smokiness lead to a fresh, minera ...

2017 Domaine Louis Michel Chablis 1er Cru "Séchets"

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "It will be hard to choose between the formidable Butteaux Vieilles Vignes and the similarly compelling 2017 Chablis 1er Cru Séchets, a brilliant wine that unfurls to reveal notions of lemon zest, lime, wet stones, crushed shells and mandarin. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, exceptionally deep and multidimensional, with terrific concentration, chalky structuring extract and a ripe but tangy, mineral finish. 2017 Domaine Vincent Dauvissat Chablis 1er Cru "La Forest" (Pre-Arrival)

96 points Decanter: "Now reduced to 3.7ha since 0.8ha were given to his nephew, Vincent Dauvissat's 12 parcels of Forest (his spelling) are still producing a spellbinding wine. It's all almond paste, beeswax and oyster shell, with a drizzle of honey. Drinking Window 2022 - 2032. (TA) " (07/2018) 95 points James Suckling: " Has a very strong, flinty yellow grapefruit and lime-leaf edge with a waxy, steely mineral core, making it a really exciting nose. There’s additional depth here, from white peppery minerals to chalk. Super fine and tight. This has ...

2017 Domaine Vincent Dauvissat Chablis Grand Cru "Les Preuses" (Pre-Arrival)

98 points Decanter: "The Dauvissat holdings touch La Moutonne but make a very different style to the Long-Depaquit wine. Fine, delicate and subtle, this lightly wooded grand cru takes your breath away with its focus, poise, and its thrilling length. Drinking Window 2024-2035. (TA)" (07/2018) 97 points John Gilman: "There was just a touch of frost damage in the domaine’s holdings in les Preuses in 2017, so the yields here were down by ten percent. The wine is brilliant, offering up a deep and enormously complex nose of grapefruit, tart pear, green apple ...

2017 Domaine Vincent Dauvissat Chablis 1er Cru "Séchet" (Pre-Arrival)

94 points James Suckling: "Attractive yellow citrus, lemons and very chalky oyster shell minerals. White peaches and dried flowers too. The palate has a super fine acidity. Elegant, long and very mineral. This has real tension and energy. Drink or hold. " (07/2018) 94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A bottling that regularly excels chez Dauvissat, the 2017 Chablis 1er Cru Séchet opens in the glass with delicate aromas of citrus peel, grapefruit, crisp green apples and white flowers, with only subtle hints of the oyster shell to come. 2017 Domaine Samuel Billaud Chablis

89-91 points Vinous: "The 2017 Chablis comes from three parcels, one by Chapelots with small yields, one in La Pargue and one in front of Vaillons from 80-year old vines. It has an elegant bouquet with yellow flowers, citrus lemon and light chalky scents that open nicely in the glass. The palate is very well balanced with a captivating linearity and focus, very taut with a saline finish that gets that old saliva flowing. (TA)" (07/2018) 90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Readers who neglect Vincent Dauvissat's 2017 Petit Chablis in favor of his grander appellations will be doing themselves a disservice, as this is a brilliant, characterful wine with an established track record of evolving gracefully for the better part of two decades. It has a classic Chablis bouquet with a potent sea influence, oyster shells and cockles, and a whiff of kelp. The palate is beautifully balanced with a crisp line of acidity, very harmonious and elegant, the 20% barrel maturation just lending a little more weight to the finish. 2017 La Chablisienne Chablis 1er Cru "Fourchaume"

90-92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Once again the oak regimen is subtle but not invisible as it frames the lightly exotic aromas of orange peel, lychee and pear compote. The exceptionally rich and succulent middle weight plus flavors coat the palate with sap while exhibiting fine depth and length on the balanced finish where the wood resurfaces. This should drink well young but have no problems aging over the mid-term." 2017 Domaine Pinson Chablis Grand Cru "Les Clos"

96 points Decanter: "This is the less wooded of the two Les Clos bottlings from the Pinsons, but it's still quite a rich, powerful style. It's dense and complex, with notes of baking spices, subtle stone fruit and a saline, minerally flourish. (TA)" (07/2018) 94 points James Suckling: "There’s just so much depth from the get-go with deep, fresh lemons and peaches, bathed in stony minerals. The palate has a stunning array of lemons, peaches and grapefruit with a seamless, pastry-like texture and a late, flinty twist to the succulent, grapefruit finish. Drink or hold." (08/2019) 91-92 points John Gilman: "The 2017 Montmains has also just been filtered, but was showing a bit more refinement at the time of my visit on both the nose and palate. Made with old-vine fruit from the plateau above Les Clos, it's balanced, light and very pure. Drinking Window 2019 - 2021. Long and chalky on the finish, like its Petit Chablis sibling, it's as good a representation of the appellation as it's possible to find. As is consistently the case, Vincent Dauvissat has fashioned some of the finest wines to be found in both the 2016 and 2017 vintages. 2016 is a small crop, amounting ...

Here too there is fine vibrancy to the sleeker and slightly finer medium weight flavors that offer both good minerality and salinity on the more harmonious finish. Lovely stuff." (10/2018) 91-92 points John Gilman: "Vaillons is a Left Bank premier cru and the frost damage on this side of the river was far less, so I have to imagine that this is one of the star premier crus in the cellar at Domaine Fèvre in ...

As is usually the case with this wine there is excellent volume, power, muscle and mid-palate density to the medium-bodied flavors that coat the palate with dry extract on the almost painfully intense mineral-driven finish that flashes a bit of youthful austerity. The succulent, seductive and generous flavors coat the palate with sap yet there is no sense of heaviness thanks to the excellent minerality that helps to add lift to the clean and moderately dry finish.
