2006 Haut-Bergey, Pessac-Léognan

91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Consistently one of the top, under-the-radar wines of Pessac-Leognan, Haut-Bergey's beautiful 2006 boasts a deep ruby/purple hue as well as a classic bouquet of hot rocks intermixed with graphite, cassis, incense, and charcoal. Medium to full-bodied with noticeable but sweet tannin, impressive purity, and an alluring texture, it is relatively evolved for a 2006, so consumption over the next 15 years is recommended. (RP)" (02/2009) 90 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright, deep ruby-red. Wil ...

2006 La Mission Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan

97 points Decanter: "Colour still tight and inky at 10 years old. Smooth, silky, very expressive; this is so powerful it almost lulls you into a false sense of security with the tannin integration on the first attack. Deceptively concentrated, this has persistency and freshness, plus layers of crushed black fruits, tar, cigar smoke and saffron. Right up there with the best wines of the tasting. (JA)" (06/2016) 96 points Wine Enthusiast: "Wonderful sweet fruit, velvet in texture, with concentrated ripe fruits and red berries. This is a wine that rolls s ...

2006 Doisy-Védrines, Sauternes (375ml)

93 points Wine Enthusiast: "A richly liquorous wine, ripe and packed with harmonious sweet textures. At the same time over the ripe structure there is a layer of lively lemon, spice and ginger, spiked with fresh tangerines. The end result is smooth, balanced and vibrant." (03/09) 90 points Stephen Tanzer: "Bright yellow-gold. Good citrus zest lift to the aromas of apricot, orange peel, marzipan and honey. Smooth, sweet and nicely concentrated, with a tactile, chewy quality to the honey and orange blossom flavors. With aeration, this showed a building fr ...

2006 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac (1.5L)

95 points Decanter: "Tight and unyielding at the moment, but with great pedigree, great texture and definition, this has lots of life to come. Poised and impactful, with juicy and mouthwatering fruit. Punches far above the weight of the vintage, one of those get-a-straw-in-the-glass wines: among the best of the tasting. Here tension rises, and your mouth waters on the finish. This is delicate but punchy, with perfect balance. Drinking Window 2018-2040. (JA) " (06/2016) 94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Château Pontet-Canet has an extre ...

2006 Château d'Arsac "The Winemakers' Collection: Denis Dubourdieu Cuvée No. 2" Haut-Medoc

Jancis Robinson: "Denis Dubourdieu is another of Bordeaux's high-profile wine consultants, even if he has spread his wings geographically more markedly after this wine was made rather than before. His own base is in Graves and Sauternes. Less intense crimson than the No 1 from Michel Rolland. Just mid crimson with some evolution at the rim. Very attractively aromatic, in rather the same way that fine red Graves is - oddly enough! (Perhaps I ought to have been made to taste these wines blind...) Racy and lifted. Rather flattering - not in a sweet, sweet w ...

2006 Cantemerle, Haut-Médoc (1.5L)

92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Cantemerle was the "surprise package" of the blind tasting at Farr Vintners' horizontal. It has a conservative nose with rosemary and undergrowth scents that open nicely in the glass, but retain a sense of classicism. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannin, lightly spiced red berry fruit, sage and white pepper, quite persistent on the finish, which feels very pure. What an outstanding 2006 Claret - a Cantemerle that punches well above its weight. Tasted April 2016. (NM)" (05/2016) 90 points Jam ...

2006 Lafite-Rothschild, Pauillac (1.5L)

96 points Wine Enthusiast: "As so often with Lafite, it is power that marks this wine. That, and density of texture. The additional element in this vintage, and at this stage of the wine's development, is a dominant wood element. The vanilla and tannins from the wood match well with the concentrated tannins of the fruit, which is dark, dense and tight. This is a wine for long-term aging: in 15 years this will have superb richness. *Cellar Selection* (RV)" (03/2009) 95 points Wine Spectator: "Plum, sweet tobacco and blackberry aromas follow through to a ...

2006 Langoa-Barton, St-Julien

91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted at Bordeaux Index's annual 10-Year On tasting in London. The 2006 Château Langoa Barton has a lifted nose of small dark cherries, blackberry, incense and marmalade - quite showy for Langoa Barton - but there is joie-de-vivre here. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, ripe and demonstrating impressive density plus a firm grip. This really coats the mouth in tannin, although it is still balanced. It just needs another 4-5 years in bottle, the stubborn little lady. (NM)" (05/2016) 91 points Wine ...

2006 La Croix St-Georges, Pomerol (1.5L)

91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Although not quite the blockbuster I expected from the barrel samples I tasted, this is, nevertheless, an outstanding effort from a vineyard situated next to the garagiste superstar, Le Pin. A dense ruby/purple color is accompanied by sumptuous aromas of truffles, chocolate, kirsch, fig, coffee, and toasty oak. Deep and full-bodied with a broad, savory mouthfeel, and a layered finish, this beauty will provide pleasure over the next 15-20 years. Kudos to Jean-Philippe Janoueix! 2006 Mouton Rothschild, Pauillac

97 points Wine Enthusiast: "At the time it was shown as a barrel sample in early 2007, this was the best wine of 2006. That accolade remains. It has all the power of the Cabernet Sauvignon in Pauillac, which was the greatest success of the vintage. That power comes from the dense tannins as well as the black plum and spice flavors and minerality. The texture becomes velvet, giving a final richness, but never losing its long aging potential. In a year that is good, but not at the top, Mouton has made a great wine. *Top 100 Wines of 2009, Cellar Selection* ...

2006 La Lagune, Haut-Médoc

91 points James Suckling: "This is racy for a 2006 with plenty of tobacco, berries and hints of mushroom. Light, stylish earthy character. Medium to full body, fine tannins and a pretty finish with lovely tension. Drink or hold." (03/2015) 91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Having just had the 2005 La Lagune, which I think is the greatest La Lagune I have ever tasted, the 2006 certainly loses some prestige in comparison, but this is an outstanding wine and further evidence of just how strong this estate’s wines have become. Sweet plum and red an ...

2006 Bellevue-Mondotte, St-Emilion

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This tiny, 5-acre vineyard with nearly 50-year old vines produces only 4,000 bottles from a blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. The broodingly tannic, backward 2006 is remarkably concentrated, pure, and deep. It is an amazing tour de force in winemaking, but like nearly all the Perse 2006s, it is a massively built vin de garde with no compromises meant for serious connoisseurs and long-term cellaring. Forget it for 7-8 years, and drink it over the following 25-30. (RP) 95+" (02/2009) 93 points Wine Spec ...

2006 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac (Pre-Arrival)

95+ points Robert Parker: "The 2006 is a wine to stockpile, especially for those in their thirties and forties as it needs another decade to reach maturity, after which it should keep for 30+ years. This vineyard, just south of Mouton Rothschild, has produced an opaque bluish/purple-colored 2006 with an extraordinarily pure nose of graphite, charcoal, sweet creme de cassis, and a hint of scorched earth. Incredible concentration, stunning richness, and a 60-second finish result in a wine that transcends the vintage as well as this estate’s 1855 classifica ...

2006 de Fargues, Sauternes (Previously $80)

95 points Wine Spectator: "This is really attention-getting, with a seamless toasted coconut note weaving through lush tarte tartine, creamed apricot and heather flavors. As exotic as the flavors are, they are tightly focused and framed by a mouthwatering date note, with a long, mouthwatering finish. Drink now through 2030. (JM, Web Only-2012)" 94 points Wine Enthusiast: "A firm, densely structured wine, with the sweetness turned as much into richness. The flavors are of Seville orange zest, the richness coming from honey and almonds, balanced with dry ...

Bid on this bottle of 2006 Angélus, St-Emilion (97DC, 95WE, 94RP, 93ST, 93WS, 92W&S). Decanter: "Double decanted but still extremely tannic, this hsa layers of muscle even at 13 years old. It's very different in style from the others in the lineup: here, I get more menthol notes alongside the dense layers of fruit, rich tobacco, earth and olive tapenade. It's beautiful in depth and persistency, with the first hints of secondary characters in its truffle hit on the finish. (JA)" (11/2018)

2006 Pichon-Lalande, Pauillac 12-Pack in OWC (Pre-Arrival)

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted at the property, the 2006 Château Pichon-Lalande has a voluminous bouquet with outgoing blackberry, cassis and violets scents, a touch of boysenberry jam tucked just underneath, although it does not quite have the delineation of the Lynch Bages. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin. This feels very composed in the mouth, quite fresh with well-judged acidity, harmonious and tensile on the finish. This deserves a higher score than I awarded out of barrel and it continues to improve year by year. (NM ...
