2009 Valentons-Canteloup "Cuvée Excentrique" Bordeaux Supérieur

Chateau Valentons-Canteloup Bordeaux Superieur is a family-owned property that sits just along the Dordogne river in Bordeaux. It is owned by the Meynard family and Jacques Meynard makes all the wine on the property from white to rosé to red. Jacques also makes a wine under the label of Chateau Valentons-Canteloup that he calls "Cuvée Excentrique", and it is truly eccentric for a Bordeaux Superieur, made from Petit Verdot (70%) and Merlot (30%).

1996 Marqués de Griñón Rioja

An 'Editors' Pick' from the Wine Spectator... 'Carlos Falco, Marques de Grinon, is a maverick on the Spanish wine scene, but often strikes gold. Harmonious, this offers black cherry, spice and cedar notes, clean and fresh, firm enough for food yet light enough for drinking now. Marries traditional flavors and contemporary winemaking methods for a very satisfying wine.'

2009 Mark Herold Wines "Collide" Red Blend

92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Collide is an unusual blend of 40% Petite Sirah, 35% Tempranillo, 20% Graciano and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. Provencal-like, it offers up notes of lavender, garrigue, pepper, roasted meats and black fruits in its rich, full-bodied personality. This consumer-friendly offering should drink well for a decade or more. " (10/2013) 91 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "(essentially a 50/50 blend of tempranillo and petite sirah but also contains bits of graciano and cabernet): Good deep ruby. ...
