2007 Billecart-Salmon "Cuvée Elisabeth" Rosé Champagne (Previously $230) (Previously $230)
Top Pick!
97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Aromas of red berries, orange rind, dried flowers, warm brioche and spices introduce the 2007 Brut Rosé Cuvée Elisabeth, one of the highlights of this tasting chez Billecart. It's full-bodied, broad and vinous, with an enveloping attack and a bright underlying spice of acidity, revealing plenty of chalky dry extract and concentration, concluding with a long and precise finish. Despite the style of the vintage and the fact that malolactic fermentation was largely blocked, this is quite a textural, powerful wine. (...

91 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "(60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay; disgorged in October, 2013): Light gold, with a faint onion skin cast. Spicy orange zest and honeydew on the fragrant, mineral-accented nose. Dry and tightly focused, offering lively Meyer lemon and melon flavors and a deeper suggestion of nectarine. Finishes with building floral character and excellent tangy persistence, leaving bitter citrus zest and dusty mineral notes behind. (JR)" (01/2015) 90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Pierre Paillard's Bouzy Gr...

Krug "Grande Cuvée" 168ème Édition Brut Champagne
Top Pick!
96 points Decanter: "52% Pinot Noir, 35% Chardonnay, 13% Pinot Meunier. A gentle gold with discreet yet persistent mousse and aromatics of spring meadows, lemon sherbet and barley sugar; the wine is pure and softly powerful, youthful energy finely poised, somewhat cautious after so many years in the chalky cellars. The reserve wines, Pinot Noir from Verzenay and Chardonnay from Avize especially, are subtle in support, vivacious despite their relative maturity, contributing to an ensemble which is hitherto dominated by red fruit, courtesy of the superb Pi...

2012 Bollinger "Grande Année" Brut Champagne
Top Pick!
95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Disgorged in July 2019, Bollinger's 2012 Brut La Grande Année is showing well, offering up an incipiently complex bouquet of crisp yellow orchard fruit, fresh peach, orange oil, toasted walnuts and dried apricot that's still quite reserved with less than a year on cork. Full-bodied, deep and muscular, the 2012 is blockier and broader-shouldered than its 2008 predecessor, with a weightier and even more concentrated palate built around a bright spine of acidity, concluding with a chalky finish that carries apprecia...

91 points James Suckling: "A deep wine and very dry with sliced green apple and lemon rind. Some yeast. Full body, tight and dense. Hints of cooked apple. A bright and very drinkable Champagne." (03/2018) K&L Notes: Four bottles in one! Perfect for a party. The blend for the vintage 2008 is 70% Chardonnay and 30% Pinot Noir with aging of 84 months at the minimum. It is certainly one of the most exciting big bottles of vintage Champagne in the store, from a vintage that many in the region consider the best in a generation. (Gary Westby, K&L Champagne bu...

2008 Dom Pérignon Brut Champagne (Lenny Kravitz Bottle) (Previously $190) (Previously $190)
Top Pick!
98 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2008 Dom Pérignon is the first time the estate has released a wine out of order (the 2009 was released before the 2008) but the estate loved the wine so much they felt it warranted additional aging. This is a rich, powerful wine that still shows incredible purity and elegance, with a stacked, concentrated feel on the palate. It’s rare to find such a mix of ripe, pure, concentrated fruit paired with this level of purity, focus, and precision. This is a legendary Dom that surpasses all the great vintages of Dom I have experience...

Krug "Grande Cuvée" 167 Ème Édition Brut Champagne
Top Pick!
97 points James Suckling: "A rich and dense Champagne with complexity and decadence, in a fresh and agile way. Very driven and energetic with praline, cooked apples and hints of honey. Some bread dough, but subtle and vivid. Very tight and focused. Racy and direct. Bright edition. Very fine textured. Youngest wine in the blend is 2011. " (07/2019) 96 points John Gilman: "The new release of Krug Grande Cuvée '167eme Édition' is stellar. The wine is from the base year of 2011 and utterly transcends that vintage, but, of course, it includes nearly two hun...

93 points James Suckling: "The brioche and cooked-apple and cream character really comes through here. Full-bodied and round with fine bubbles. Flavorful and intense. Vivid, bread-dough finish. This is four years on lees. 55% chardonnay and the rest pinot." (09/2019) 91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The latest rendition of Laurent-Perrier's NV Brut is showing nicely, wafting from the glass with scents of almond paste, iodine, white peach, warm biscuits and mandarin. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, with an elegant, lively prof...

This blend of 40% Meunier, 30% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay won the Concourse of Independent Vignerons in 2018, and is a fabulously spicy, toasty, balanced cuvée. (Gary Westby, K&L Champagne Buyer)
Price: $149.00

100 points Wine Enthusiast: "One of the great Champagnes both for its richness and its longevity, this latest incarnation is superb. The wine's richness is linked to the ripe fruit and the dominance of Pinot Noir in the blend. It also shines in the perfect balance between the texture, the minerality and the integration of the fruit. It can be enjoyed now, but it will be better from 2020 and then for many years to come. *No. 4, Top Cellar Selections of 2018* (RV)" (12/2018) 97 points James Suckling: " I love the balance between weight and agility in thi...

2012 Louis Roederer "Cristal" Brut Champagne
Top Pick!
98 points John Gilman: "The 2012 vintage of Cristal is the first to be produced entirely from Demeter-certified, biodynamically-farmed fruit, which is a landmark for Maison Roederer. The future is now here! I have been looking forward to this release of this vintage of Cristal for a few years now, but sadly found myself not in top form to appreciate its debut, as I was so suffering from jet lag after my three weeks on the road in November that my energy level was no match for this beautiful young wine. The 2012 Cristal is its customary cépages of sixty p...

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This is the first sparkling wine from Rhys vineyard. From the Bearwallow vineyard and made using the traditional method, the 2015 Blanc de Blancs opens a touch rubbery on the nose, with a core of bruised apples, mushroom, hay and pastry notes from its 30 months tirage (this bottle was disgorged in July 2019). The palate is medium-bodied and dry with finely beaded mousse and savory/toasty character, finishing with just enough freshness. (EB)" (02/2020)
Price: $169.99

97 points James Suckling: "A fantastic prestigious cuvée this year with a solid core of fruit that makes it so serious and structured. Like a grand cru Burgundy. Full body. Lightly chewy. Phenolic tension gives it form and beauty. This is the first year to use numbers. 55% chardonnay and 45% pinot noir. 2004, 2002 and 1999." (09/2019) 94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A blend of the 2007, 2006 and 2004 vintages that was disgorged some six months ago, the NV Brut Grand Siècle #24 will be released this April, and it's beginning to drink well, off...

97 points Decanter: "An enticingly rewarding nose of apricot, flint and toast leads to a palate that's just as good and even more developed, with honey, brioche marzipan and bruised apple notes. It has super tension and drive. Compelling, delicious and distinctive. (JS)" (11/2018) 95 points James Suckling: "Honey and roses with fresh almonds and an array of dried berries, amid deep, rich, toasted-nut, autolysis character. The palate has a bold array of rich, concentrated berry flavors in a fresh core, surrounded by a warming wrap of grilled hazelnuts. ...

96 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Not surprisingly this is markedly more youthful than the same wine in 750 ml format but as it should it shares many of the same characteristics that include the brioche, baked apple and prominent yeast elements, but the marmalade character is at this point only a whisper. There is also a better sense of vibrancy to the wonderfully complex flavors where the supporting mousse remains firm and fine, all wrapped in an utterly delicious and, again like the 750 ml version, saliva-inducing finale. While I don't believe ther...

1996 Dom Pérignon Brut Rosé Champagne
Back In Stock!
97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Three 1996s from Dom Perignon are special. After having compared original releases and OEnotheque bottlings across a number of vintages going back to 1964, I am increasingly of the belief that the most enjoyable Dom Perignons are impeccably stored bottles of the original release. The 1996 Dom Perignon Rose is simply off the charts. What a wine. The 1996 Rose has begun to fill out rather dramatically. Today it is rich, powerful and totally seductive. (AG)" (11/2010) 95 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine ...

99 points Decanter: "And so from P1 methuselah to P2, which for Geoffroy ‘goes beyond Champagne’. P2, he continues, must be ‘deeper, richer, longer…better than P1' - otherwise why release it? Well, they haven't yet, although it's pencilled in for later in 2019. Here we have drive, vinosity and incredible length. The sweet and savoury balance indulges with a seductive embrace. Gustav Klimt in a glass maybe. Outstanding. (SF)" (11/2018) 98 points John Gilman: "Somehow, I never managed to cross paths with the initial disgorgement of the 2002 Dom Pérignon,...

98 points James Suckling: "This is a step up from the linear and fresh 2006. It shows subtle depth and power with a dense block of vivid fruit that's highlighted with lemon zest, green apples and hints of white peaches. Just the right amount of praline and nuts on the nose. Fine and tight bead give the Champagne a luxurious mouthfeel. One for now or the cellar. Drink or hold. " (12/2018) 97 points Wine Enthusiast: "Always one of the great Champagnes, this comes from a year that is generally regarded as good but not great. And yet, with this Champagne i...

93 points James Suckling: "Cinnamon and dried nutmeg add to the experience of bread dough and rose petals. Flavorful on the medium-bodied palate and finely poised with bright acidity. Medium-long on the finish. Drink now. " (05/2019) 93 points Decanter: "Vivid, almost luscious strawberry aromas. Flecks of nutmeg and clove spice amid the lively, refreshing fruit on its slender, fresh body. A real joyful classic. 2006 Krug Brut Champagne
Top Pick!
97 points Decanter: "Krug 2006 is composed of 45% Pinot Noir, 35% Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Meunier and shows an impressive aromatic richness of white flowers, smoke and toasted hazelnuts. There’s both density and crystalline texture here, with a vinous palate that's deep and complex too. Readers who can find it should not hesitate, as it's a superb Champagne. (YC)" (11/2019) 97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Krug's superb 2006 Brut, which will be released this year, numbers among the vintage's high points, unfurling in the glass with a complex ...

2002 Billecart-Salmon "Cuvée Nicolas François Billecart" Brut Champagne
Top Pick!
98 points James Suckling: "A very composed Champagne with plenty of still fresh lemon and white cherry fruits on offer. There's impressive clarity, power and richness here. The nose has candied peach, strawberry, white cherry and grilled nuts. Very flavorsome palate with pastry flavors adding savory notes to the stone fruits and citrus. Toasted almonds and chalky minerals define the long finish. Still so young and powerful! Drink now." The palate is plump and flavorsome with plenty of berries and citrus intertwined. Good depth here. Grapefruit finish. Drink now. " (07/2018) 90 points Decanter: "Veuve's 'yellow label' non-vintage Champagne is perhaps the region's most recognisable. It's a blend of around 50% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Meunier, from up to 60 different crus. The doughy base shows a hint of creaminess, layered with light and fresh f...

97 points Decanter: "A classic, slow-maturing year picked into October. It's a pale, pristine hue - a beautifully assembled mix of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from Aÿ, Ambonnay, Bouzy, Verzy, Verzenay and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, combining saline-wrapped orchard fruits with great Pinot Noir subtlety yet strength. THE aperitif Champagne, but also try with sea trout. 95 points John Gilman: "I have been looking forward to the release of the 2004 Bruno Paillard “Nec Plus Ultra” for several years now, and was very happy to hear that it is now ready for release. This is Bruno and Alice Paillard’s Tête de Cuvée and it is a stunning example of the 2004 vintage. The wine was not disgorged until September of 2017, after more than twelve years aging sur latte and then held for a couple more years in the cellars to let it really settle in from its disgorgement! The wine offers up superb aromatic precision in its constellation ...

96 points Wine & Spirits: "Eric Lebel achieves the beautiful color of this wine with the addition of Pinot Noir fermented on its skins. The rest of the blend includes reserve wines and selections of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Meunier that come together in Krug’s most ephemeral Champagne, an effervescent mist of flavor with the depths of a grand cru Vosne-Romanée. Resonant bass notes hold earthy complexity while vibrant freshness rises with the bubbles. An elegant rosé to pour with thin slices of roast duck breast." (12/2015) 96 points Wine Enthusiast: ...

Made from 100% Pinot Noir sourced in the Marne valley, the bouquet is elegant and fresh, with notes of fresh fruit and pastry. It's tense and straight, with a moderately firm palate showing some delicate iodine notes. Dosage: 4g/l. (YC)" (11/2019)

Made from 60% Pinot Noir, 25% Chardonnay and the rest Pinot Meunier, with 30% of the blend brought up in barrels, it boasts a rich, deep, medium to full-bodied style as well as terrific notes of lemon curd, crème brûlée, caramelized stone fruits, and hints of toasty nuttiness that develop with time in the glass. 96 points Connoisseurs Guide: "Elegant and fruity at the same time with a quick invitation from bright, pure cherryish notes and then filled out handsomely by whiffs of chalky soils and well-integrated, rich and uplifting yeast-driven scents, this wine manages to be both vigorous and layered at one and the same time. Its bubbles are insistent, finely carved and add to the early sensations of lightness and energy yet also carry the wine long into a balanced, refined finish. And its latter palate grip is exactly what one should expect from the genre. While...

95 points Decanter: "This 2004 constitutes only the fifth edition of this special bottling that has earned an outstanding reputation, coming after 1983, 1985, 1990 and the superlative 1995. The Chardonnay for this blanc de blancs comes from the five famous terroirs of the Côte des Blancs: Avize, Cramant, Oger, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger and Vertus. It has powerful aromatic complexity with minty, floral and mineral elements, while the dense, generous yet silky texture is supported by finely-judged acidity. This is a character-driven Champagne that should pair wel...

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2002 Dom Pérignon "Limited Edition Metal Label" Brut Rosé Champagne (98RP, 98VN, 97DC, 95ST). Vinous: "The 2002 Dom Pérignon Rosé is a tremendous example of this vintage at its very best. A Champagne of vertical thrust and intensity, the 2002 is rich, opulent and hedonistic from the very first taste. Readers should expect a Rosé built on a huge core of fruit. Rose petal, passion fruit and exotic flowers add shades of dimension to the wine’s decidedly flamboyant personality. What a wine! (AG) " (07/2018)

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2002 Pierre Moncuit Brut Blanc de Blancs Champagne (92RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2002 Brut Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru is a relatively exuberant Champagne from Mesnil, where so many wines can be cool and reserved. The seven grams of residual sugar seems to give the 2002 an extra measure of broadness that supports the rich, textured fruit. The wine gains focus on the mid-palate, leading to a generous, multi-dimensional finish. This is a beautiful, textbook Champagne from Mesnil. (AG)" (12/2010)

James Suckling: "Disgorged October 2016 and will be the first Cristal to be released ten years from harvest when it is offered in 2018. 35 parcels used from a possible 45 in this vintage. The assemblage is 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay. This is so fresh and tense and mineral with extremely exuberant Chardonnay notes on the nose of white peach, lemon and yellow grapefruit, and hints of almost brambly sous bois aromas. The yeast characters are also super fresh, and there are subtle woody notes, with a hint of vanilla bean and light spices. The palate is super long, and very pure, powerful and focused. It drives deep and taut. Pinot Noir is a strong core and the Chardonnay sits at the edge offering lemon and white nectarine sorbet flavors. Staggeringly concentrated, yet the balance makes it seem airy and light. Acidity is perfectly positioned, and the power is i

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2002 Dom Pérignon Brut Champagne (98VN, 97DC, 96RP, 96W&S, 95WS). Vinous: "The 2002 Dom Pérignon is unforgettable. Rich, sumptuous and flamboyant to the core, the 2002 captures all of the radiance of a year in which ripeness in the Chardonnays was pushed to the edge. The 2002 is oily and viscous on the palate, with tremendous textural resonance in all of its dimensions. Tropical fruit, pastry and exotic floral notes all build as the 2002 opens up with air. I can still remember the first time I tasted the 2002, here in the Hautvillers cloister, with former Chef de Caves Richard Geoffroy. It was thrilling back then, and is every bit as memorable today. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of Guillaume Selosse Blanc de Noirs "Largillier" Extra Brut Champagne. Scion of the pioneer of grower Champagne, Jacques Selosse, Guillaume Selosse learned at the feet of his father, Anselme, current head of the family's iconic domaine. Guillaume has since struck out on his own, building his portfolio around two single-vineyard cuvées. Largillier is made from 100% Pinot Noir grown in the Kimmeridgian limestone around Côte des Bar. Critics and Champagne collectors alike are already heaping praise on the youngest Selosse, and his wines are garnering the kind of attention that is raising eyebrows among the cognoscenti. The next wave of luxury grower Champagne is here, and no surprise, it involves a Selosse.

96 points Vinous: "The 2006 Clos des Goisses is stellar, but it is also going to need quite a bit of time to come into its own. Powerful and ample in the best of the Goisses style, the 2006 hits the palate with serious intensity. Orchard fruits, lemon oil, white flowers and almonds are some of the many notes that open up in the glass, but, as is often the case with young Goisses, it is the wine's gravitas that is front and center. Even with all of its overtness, though, the 2006 retains striking, crystalline purity. I imagine the 2006 will reward Champag...
