Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1975 Pichon-Lalande, Pauillac (93VN, 93WS, 92RP). Vinous: "The 1975 Pichon-Lalande has long been one of my favorite vintages from the decade, and this recent example attests that it is holding up. It has a beautiful bouquet of red berry fruit, roasted chestnut, leather and sage, utterly harmonious and showing commendable vitality after 43 years. The palate is medium-bodied with melted tannin. It is quite savory in style and the Merlot is fully in control, to the extent that it feels almost Right Bank in style. Maybe you could quibble about the slight metallic finish; nevertheless, if intent on buying a Left Bank from this vintage, I would probably come here. Tasted at a vertical tasting at the château. Bid on this bottle of 1975 Mayacamas "Napa Mountain" Cabernet Sauvignon (96JG, 96VN). Vinous: "Another breathtaking wine, the 1975 Cabernet Sauvignon is all about texture and structure. Remarkably fresh for a wine of its age, the 1975 is pure magic in the glass. The flavors are dark, rich and authoritative. Like the 1976, the 1975 will continue to thrill those lucky enough to own it for another decade, perhaps longer. (AG)" (10/2014)
Starting Bid: $300.00

Bid on this bottle of 1975 Petrus, Pomerol (98RP, 97VN, 95ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the most rustic and powerful Petrus of the last 25 years, this wine still has a murky garnet/plum/purple color, a gorgeous nose of overripe black cherries, mocha, caramel, chocolate, and a hint of iron and blood. Full-bodied, super-concentrated, with massive tannin and extract, this behemoth Petrus can be enjoyed but still seems another 5-10 years away from maturity. It is certainly a 50-70 year wine, with exquisite concentration and intensity, but seemingly the rough edges will no doubt be less appealing to those looking for pure seamlessness. Perhaps that will emerge with bottle age. (RP) 98+" (01/2003)
Starting Bid: $1,400.00
